What organisation think they can charge £50.00 for changing the address on a policy. What a joke. Would I recommend them?...only as a joke to someone I hated.

Van just been stolen no replacement van whilst claim sorted. They say it is an add on to buy when taking out insurance but we were not told as there are too many additional extras to go through over the phone and we should have read the terms and conditions on the website. Who thinks when they pay £1000 for van insurance that if it gets stolen you will not get a hire van? Cvd tried to lay it on the insurer saying they only broker insurer saying its Cvd who supply replacement vehicle. They call that comprehensive insurance! Normal insurance ducking and diving don't touch them with a barge pole.

Trying to charge nearly £300 for a change of address, £50 for an email copy of policy documents which have never been received. Don't touch with a very long barge pole!!!

This company I would recommend you stay well clear of.. They are very quick to sell you a product.. But when you need help in the event of a accident you will have to deal with a minefield of different companies and at the end you will find yourself seriously out of pocket withe the promise of endless call backs never maturing.......

After two years and suspecting we have paid more than we should have. Moneysupermarket van quote £180. CVD after being with them for two years....£450! Last year the breakdown cover was removed and it was still too dear but we gave in to wasting any more time on the phone. Too many phone calls, all too long, means wasted time with CVD. Also, a hideous list of fees if you alter anything at all. Please read these reviews, you have been advised!

Shame I don't seem to be able to leave anything less than 1*! Their answer machine message says they're 'focusing on customer service'... er no! Nightmare to speak to someone, I was on hold for over 30 mins. Funnily enough if you call 'sales' or 'renewals' they pick up the phone straight away. I called to cancel the policy and to TRY and get a cancellation fee, for cancelling within the 14 days cooling off period. Just the worse customer service... will never go near them again, particularly when we need van insurance again in 6 months time... their loss. When I asked about cancellation charges when taking out the policy they were impatient at the question and vague with no figures given, and certainly no mention of an additional £5 DD charge. Awful.

Been with commercial vehicle direct for 11 years always paid my premiums in full and never claimed ! Had a collision which was not my fault. They've been very unhelpful, customer service is a waste of time. I was on hold for over 2 hours only to find out I'd been put through to the wrong department! Having to pay for the phone calls irritating . Had to phone customer services over the last couple of weeks, most of the the time I gave up due to the amount of time on hold. On some of my renewals I never received any paper work or even an email regards to my policy . Very disappointed !!!!

Appalling! 3 calls averaging 30 minutes to cancel policy and I never ever got through. The renewal price is through the roof and admin fees are applied for what seems absolutely anything you need. I don't want perfection but basic service isn't in existence here....Consistantly Bad

Changed my van for a brand new one so I called CVD the day before to change the cover. This was 6 months into my policy, I was told that it would cost me £98. A £50 admin fee and £48 difference for the new van, I wasn't happy but reluctantly swallowed it. I collected the van the next day and realised it was a 2900 weight van instead of a 2700 that I had told them. I called them to inform the revised detail, to my horror they then said they were charging me a further £50 admin fee and also a further £157 on top of what they'd charged me the day before as it was my fault. Following several heated conversations I have cancelled my policy at a cost of £272 and am dealing with the issue through the financial ombudsman. Also going to report this to Watchdog. What this company is doing is absolutely disgraceful. AVOID THESE PARASITES LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!

Taken 2 months to get documents validated Even after an e- mail from them confirming everything is sorted we then get a recorded delivery letter over a month later stating policy will be cancelled as documents haven't been validated. Going to complain about anything? Good luck - it takes them a further 2 months to respond...and that response was a letter saying they are still investigating! Never again!

I've had my van with CVD last year. Price was reasonable, no idea what they would be like in event of a claim because I didn't make one. Had my renewal notice arrive "your existing insurer's premium would be £270, after checking with all our extensive list of insurers we can offer you a policy for £250" Seemed rather high so quick check online , five minutes later found Aviva offering it for £176 with an extra named driver added - Why on earth use a broker like CDV when their 'best' quote is 25% more expensive than one I easily found myself.

Avoid taking out ASDA Home Insurance because it is administered by these rip off merchants. I signed up for ASDA home insurance last year. I had a boiler leak in the middle of the night. There was water everywhere. In the morning I phoned the ASDA Helpline and spent the next two hours being passed around to different advisers and then I eventually got through to these clowns who said that they would arrange for a heating engineer to call immediately. They phoned back and said that the heating engineer could not call until the next day because he was too busy. The next day he failed to show up and CVD said he tried to contact me,he didn't. When he did show up he he was sloppy and unprofessional, he wasn't wearing a uniform and he had his trousers hanging around his backside. He fixed the by adjusting the pressure left a quote saying that I would have to pay an excess of £250 if I wanted a permanent repair. I phoned CVD again to say that I was not happy with the person who came(I am reluctant to refer to him as an engineer) and that I wanted someone else. I was told that this man was the only central heating repairer that was contracted to CVD and that If I didn't accept his quote including the excess the repair wouldn't be covered. I told the person that this was completely unnaceptable. I got the boiler working by someone else for far less thn these rip off artists wanted to charge me.

Avoid at all costs! £50 Admin fee to make a change that should be free. Won't be re-newing with CVD that's for sure.

Probably my worst experience ever.. Had my Van stolen and had to claim. Was told I would have to pay another £900 because the van wasn't parked at my house on the day it was stolen. I refused and had numerous calls from very rude CVD staff. Made a call to the Ombudsman who the wrote a letter to Lloyds. Claim was then approved within 3 days... STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY

I renewed my van insurance with this company in June for cover to start mid July, I paid in full (as I always do) I was told my document would be sent out within 5 working days, they were not, I phoned to ask for them to be sent, was promised they would be sent out to be received within 5 working days, again no show. I phoned yet again requesting they be sent, same promise, again no show. On each occasion I confirmed my address, telephone number and email, so they had the correct details. For a third time I phoned requesting them, same promises, and guess what, NO SHOW !, I again phoned today to complain re the problem, 15 mins on the phone (again) and no manager to speak to, told I would be phoned back (bit like the documents being sent out), useless, waste of space, took the full payment quick enough, can't be bothered to resolve a basic issue. What's really annoying is last year I had to phone up twice to get documents sent out too, should have learned the first time. Next renewal I'll get my insurance through e real insurance company !. Just how many correctly addressed letters do get lost in the post ?.

Been insured with this company for my business vehicle for two years. Five weeks ago I was unfortunate to be hit by a driver who had fallen asleep at the wheel. Cut and dry you would think. Other drivers insurance accepted he was at fault. My truck was three months old and valued at £16000. Rang CVD who told me they would deal with it. They offered me a replacement CAR ( I have a fencing and shed business) and finally sourced me a pick up truck. Rather, they didn't... Another company did. After four weeks, I received a cheque for £9900 and was told they would sell the salvage of my van and send me a cheque for £2000. The rest I would have to wait for as they would need to fight it ... Or rather, the company they SOLD my details to (after I told them I wanted them, CVD, to deal with it) told me this. Five weeks later, CVD haven't responded to my complaints and just keep saying its nothing to do with them! Use this company at your peril. They are quick to take your money, but woebetide if you need to make a claim. Won't be using this company again and have reported them to the Financial Ombudsmen who have informed me I can submit my complaint in four weeks time.

CVD is a broker.. So it wouldn't be them that dealt with your claim. It will have been your underwriter. If you look at your documents you will see this

I am fully aware of that. However, at first contact after the collision, they should have referred me to my insurer and not a third party who would 'take over my case', after I had specifically asked should I go through my insurer or go through an independent firm, a point which was agreed upon by the Financial Ombudsman when I referred my complaint to them. The Financial Ombudsman had transcripts of original calls and had admitted that misleading infomation had been given.

But this year I can't wait to see the back of them. I used them last year and they were excellent, value for money and no problems. This year they have employed pesterers on all levels to drive you around the twist, and they are there with one aim in mind and that's to extract your cash. I paid for my insurance one day and was then pestered by various employees on annoying telephone calls to try to get me to by add ons for keys, protected no claims etc. Once I had finally rid myself of these parasites, a new set started pestering me, day and night for my driving licence and ncd proof, even although thay had it the year before. Once they had it they had a huge list of things that they said were wrong, eg when I had passed my test, something I don't even remember them asking at the time. To change these spurios anomolies I had to pay £75 or forfeit my policy. Absolute robbers, stay clear.
