This Is Absolute Junk! It Is Unable To Hold A Stab
This is absolute junk! It is unable to hold a stable connection...Only recently has firmware been released by Netgear that allows the device to attempt to reconnect, however it is still unable to hold a stable connection. Meaning that you have to wait up to 5 mins to restore the connection. I will never buy Netgear again. Do a goggle search for other forums and you will find this a worldwide problem. Netgear refuse to address the issue.

I am experiencing the same issue with the DGN3500.
The previous Drayek 2600 WE on ADSL 1 has been flawless for 8 years, albeit slow. BTW, we have another model of older Netgear router that is also working reliably at another location.
The Netgear DGN3500 is not fit for purpose. AVOID IT. DON'T BUY IT. Many people seem to be having these problems.

This review is simply not true. The device works flawlessly for me. This guy is either simply disgruntled with NetGear for some reason or paid by some competitor.

The Dgn3500 Router Has Been A Long Time Coming. It
The DGN3500 router has been a long time coming. It is full speed Wireless-N, gigabit wired network and ADSL BT modem in one. The modem looks great in sleek black and is about double the size of a DG834G. It also has a handy USB port for sharing a USB drive over your network. The router was a doddle to setup and it can have up to different wireless networks running at once. It has all the latest refinements such as WPS setup, WPA2 security and is configurable in any way you will need. I have got rid of a DG834G and a gigabit switch and it cost just over £100 at broadbandbuyer. They are also excellent by the way. You could spend around the same for a router which just does G-wireless (6 times slower) and normal wired network (10 times slower). It was instantly recognised by all my kit and easily streams video, music and data to all my wireless devices (media players, laptops, computers, phones and PDAs). Wish this had been out years ago.
I have a DGN3500 and it works well. My only grip is that it is sold as having a dedicated network for guests (so that guests can use the internet with out accessing your network), currently it does not support this feature. I complained about this and Netgear says they are going to add the functionality as a firmware update but as it 30/06/10 there is no sign of this.

My setup experience was similar to the previous writer. Quite a doddle.
I am with O2 which uses LLU settings - so no username etc required.
CD wizard did not work - but it rarely ever does with LLU. I just logged in -went to the DSL settings, entered LLU and 0/101 then set up my wireless security and up and runnng in less thatn 5 minutes.
WPS Push Connect worked first time with my Canon MP640 printer.
Currently 16Mbs down and 1.02 Mbs up.
Should improve even more over the next few days. No dropouts YET!
