Worst Gym Ever

This gym is so busy, smells flys in the swimming pool and in the ladies showers, slugs in the steam room and something is always out of order. DO NOY JOIN I have given my notice and still have to wait 2 months until they cancel my membership.

Ripped Off After Cancelation

According to the contract, if you move 30 km + away from the gym, you are eligible to cancel your contract. I called their customer service over two months ago and told them that I was moving and they told me to email them my plane tickets and a copy of my visa, which I did. I got the automatic confirmation email that they received my files. I assumed it was okay, until I got charged for the next two months even though I was no longer in the country. The customer service team has been horribly unresponsive to my emails, phone calls, and basically are ripping me off. My boyfriend also got charged doubled the monthly fee for 8 months on his credit card and it took them 3 months to give him a refund for the almost $500 that they owed him.

Wow Price Is Really High

I wish I could give a 0 star rating. Me and my wife paid thousands in membership and personal training sessions to this Golds gym. When it was the time of cancellation, i sent an email to the Manager Suzzane 2 weeks before . Also i walked in to the gym and told in person to those guys sitting behind the reception area. he asked me to send email to Tina which is did. I also told Mike the possibility of moving when i took the personal training sessions. but they charged 112 $ for me also charges 120...

Gold's Gym, Vancouver, B.c.

The entire experience with this gym has been extremely negative. I have been to many gyms that includes community centre gyms and Fitness World. I have to say that Gold's Gym is the worst and this seems it is a world wide problem with all Gold's. It started when they offered a free week for the gym to my girlfriend but when she spoke to a sales representative, they pressured her into a contract. In addition, they used many different tactics like so-called deals and benefits but really, all they want is for you to sign a contract so that they can start billing you. So they pressured my girlfriend into a contract and said that to cancel it would cost $300. So I decided to take the contract off of her hands as they said it was only $100 + the cancellation fee ($300) to complete the contract for a year. However, they instead charged me an additional $400 and said that was the price and there was no way it could cost $100 more as the contract was a $700 contract. So they completely misled my girlfriend and myself. In addition, they do not offer any refunds and they will continually mislead you; all the sales representatives seem to be trained the same way. The corporate site will not help you as each gym is privately owned and the managers of each gym will not help you. Like almost everybody else, this has been one of my most stressful situations with any organization. They seem to not care about the customer. It is the oddest business practice. Please find another gym that is hassle free. I dealt with this gym and the gym in Burnaby.

Questionable Business Ethics & Practices

I and my wife were a member at our local gym for about 2 years. Upon requesting our membership cancellation the company stated you are required to pay the next months dues, which I agreed to. However, not only did i pay those but they hoodwinked my and forced me to pay annual dues in november when my membership was terminated in October. They do this by splitting months with thier statement period. The statement starts on the 15th and ends on the 15th of the next month. They said that since my october statement went into November that I was required to pay 2012 dues which is insane. So they bill you annual dues november 1st through october 31st but since statements are split they can hook you for the following month. Its a never ending cycle and basically you will be cheated if you join this gym. They are completely devoid of any ethical business practices and they are questionable people. I would never join this gym again after this experience they are no better than street hustlers. Beware.

You thought wall street is bad ???? these guys are cheaper than wall street. Most disturbing thing is that when you join they lie straight at your face that if you are moving for job you don't owe anything!

WILL NEVER JOIN A GOLDS GYM AGAIN!!

Sadly This Gym Is Letting Itself Down.. There Are

Sadly this gym is letting itself down.. there are a few good instructors, however a number of classes are being cancelled, we are not being told until the last minute (while waiting 20mins for class to begin!) not sure who is supposed to be running this gym. Staff dont seem to know whats going on. Classes are on timetable but the instructor is doing something completely different. Complaints are ignored or fobbed off with a few gym free passes... which you wouldnt use as there is no guarantee classes will take place or equipment is working. This gym is an embarrassment to name Golds Gym.

Gold's Gym Sucks. They've Now Screwed Up My Paper

Gold's Gym sucks. They've now screwed up my paper work twice, costing me overcharges of more than $200.00 each time. Trying to get it resolved has taken hours of my time. Their customer service is terrible. They also cut services, like providing towels to save money, and are still raising prices.

Certain Classes Of The Gym Would Be Canceled That

Certain classes of the gym would be canceled that night without warning - one time I had to sit wait 10 min in the class with the instructor before I was told that there would be no class.

Also, the manager would never return calls - when canceling my membership and asking regarding return of funds (which I never got), he had the SALES REP. call me once instead! What kind of manager does not call concerned members! I do not recommend this facility to any individual.
