I always thought HP was a good brand but not after this incident with the Color Laser Jet CP1215. I barely use color but thought it might be nice to have a color printer. The black cartridge ran out so I replaced it. Then I noticed I didn't have much left in my color cartridges (even though I barely use them). With each b&w page I ran, the pages left in my colors would decrease until there was zero left. I know there is still ink in those color cartridges. It wouldn't even print b&w anymore after the colors ran out. For HP to have their chip count down incorrectly, and force you to buy new cartridges, is very unfair. They hold people hostage.
I'll never buy HP again. I just have to figure out how to get rid of this one and go back to a B & W Canon.
