“Good with the 'can improve'”

★★★★☆

written by RoseyJ34 on 26/02/2017

Signed up a year ago, made several orders with no issues and items always delivered with 1-2 days. I have found the clothes to be really good and do last. Love that I have the option to order one day and have the items the next - very convenient for last minute orders. Only issue has been the Customer Service helpline, well if you call it that. No help at all, difficult to understand and they are unable to understand a basic sentance - they are obviously reading from a script. This is not helpful when you have a lengthy query.

“Always good service so far.”

★★★★☆

written by AndresParrish166 on 08/01/2017

I've been with very for five years now and always had good service. Items always arrived on time and always been updated on its progress.. Never any problems with returns. Recently had a faulty washing machine that lasted only a few weeks. I rang very and they arranged collection, refund and an order of a new different one all in the same day. I was very happy.

“Great site”

★★★★☆

written by on 20/02/2014

I ordered about 5 items over the Christmas period, they all arrived promptly and I had no problems at all. Though some of the things I ordered together did arrive on different days, which is a little annoying but this was clearly explained to me on the site before I made my purchases. So far I think Very is a good site and I'm surprised by other people's negative experiences. But I'm sure they have many more happy customers, they just can't be bothered to write a review.

hmmm there are plenty of negative reviews because it for one thing sounds like they have awful customer service and quite frankly you are in the minority!!! I hope people will read your review and ignore it!

“Fast delivery, good price and as described”

I ordered a duvet set which arrived 3 days after ordering - I received a text when it arrived at the collection shop. The duvet is nice and it was a fair price. No complaints will use again.

“Great if you can clear off your balance in 3 months”

★★★★☆

written by boltonlad88 on 21/01/2014

I have both a Littlewoods and Very account. The difference is that Very is cheaper- but only if you pay off your balance in 3 months with the "take 3 option". If you don't they will charge you interest normally at 49.9% APR. Plus they charge you delivery of £3.95 for every order unlike Littlewoods where its free. I think this is for people with loads of disposable income who can afford to clear their balance quickly- because if you do the maths buying something from Very on 52 weeks actually costs more than buying it from Littlewoods. Still customer service is great, delivery is prompt and so long as you maintain your account adequately you should have no problems. Prices are still more expensive than the high street but like I said on my Littlewoods review that's missing the point- you only turn to credit if you can't/don't want to pay outright and so it makes sense that it costs more thn Ebay/Online/Highstreet.

“Good Service”

★★★★☆

written by minxorcist on 31/10/2013

I bought a microwave oven from Very which was reduced in a sale. I also got 20% off as it was my first order. The delivery was on time, and to the address I specified. I opted to pay over three months, which made the purchase extremely affordable. On one month, the due date was a week before my pay date, and customer service were fine about extending my deadline (I still received text non-payment reminders). I would be happy to use Very again.

“Wont let me order anymore because....”

★★★★☆

written by sammyjayneex on 02/10/2013

Well i have been with very for a while with initial credit limit of £400 which was great. i managed to buy a wardrobe and a bunk bed for my girls and paid the take 3 payment every month so not to pay interest...anyway i kept ordering different things and paid them off but sometimes i woudldnt pay take 3 i would pay minimum payment and add some on top and i have NEVER missed a payment. Then i got a woolworths credit account thinking this would have different products but its the same as very really, so i ordered some stuff from woolworths anyway and came into financial difficulty so went onto a payment plan with woolworths and because of this very will not let me order from them as woolworths is in their ''group of catalogs'' even though all my payments with very were u to date, and my account is cleared and i have a full £600 limit. I think its unfair they are not letting me order from them just because of the payment plan with woolworths and i love very!!! SO be careful not to fall behind with other accounts as it will affect your very account

“pretty good”

I applied for a very account when my ps3 console broke and I did not have the cash upfront to buy a new one. I was accepted and given a £1000 credit limit. I purchased the ps3 on buy now pay 6 months later and managed to pay it off bit by bit before the interest free period ended so didnt accure any interest which was great. The site is quite expensive but I expected this as most catlogues are the same. I guess you are paying for the convienience of being able to have things that you otherwise could not afford. I have used the site several times since when I have been sent voucher codes and have been happy with the choice of items availible and the different payment options. Overall a good website and useful to people who don't have the money to purchase things up front. Beware of the interest stacking up and try and pay the balance off before the interest free period ends.

“Very... good!”

★★★★☆

written by TimmyRocks on 23/08/2012

I am not normally a fan of catalogue type websites or buy now pay later things but my wife set an account up on very because we moved onto our house and needed some things that we could pay for over three month. Very was perfect because you have the options to pay something off in that time period without paying any interest! We ordered our table and chairs for the dinning rooms and some bedroom bits and bobs. It was all delivered next day free of charge and without any hassle. We have had several calls from the since asking fro feedback and if we want to buy anything else and attempts to raise out credit limit which is all a little annoying but worth it for what we have got out of it. Good option for people as long as you know what you are doing! 30 odd % APR is a lot to pay of things if you don't pay them off supper quick. So all in all would recommend but only if you use it right.

“Been With Very.co.uk For 3 Years - Had A Good Expereince”

★★★★☆

written by on 18/02/2012

I have a credit account with very and i always use the Buy Now Pay Later option which gives me a year to pay for my high value items. I havent been charged interest once as i always pay it within the year. I have purchased many items and my credit limit rises on occasions. All of my items have been delivered on time and sometime they come early than they say which is good. So far Ive had a good experience with them. I find their electrical items are very well priced compared to buying off the high street. I got a 43inch Samsung Plasma TV for just £399 on Buy Now Pay Later (was over £500 at currys at time i purchased it)

“Overall pleased with the service”

★★★★☆

written by westjustine08 on 17/07/2011

Overall, I am pleased with the service provided by the Very customer service team. I have bought a variety of different items with Very and find that it is refreshing to be able to arrange an exact date for delivery and have the goods turn up on time every time. It is easy to return items that don't fit and it is nice to know I have different options to return as well (I like that fact you can use the Collect+ service). At times when a product I have ordered isn't in stock, Very always keep me informed of the dates I should expect the item and I am always given the option of cancelling my order if the time period is too long. Regarding the variety of items Very offer I think that they are doing well so far. The website is regularly updated and I often see new items on the webpage which catch my eye. Electrical items are a little overpriced but that is to be expected from a catalogue service. 9 times out of 10 the quality of the items I receive are excellent with the rare occurence of the item not being quite as described. I think that Very are the best priced catalogue I have come across so far and it caters for a variety of age groups and keeps up with the trends.

I have ordered many items from very.co.uk and have been pleased with all items, their delivery is incredibly quick everything i have ordered from their site has come exactly on time or even earlier! I found it easy to return unwanted items to them and i was pleased with their online customer services. My only problem with them is that a lot of the time the items i want on their website are out of stock, other than that i can't fault them great items, great quality and super fast delivery.

Basically, I am in a bit of a pickle. I ordered some bedroom furniture from Very two weeks ago and it was delivered on Wednesday last week. My husband checked everything was there and put the furniture together. Everything was fine until he went to install the glass door mirror onto our wardrobe, he hadn't taken the foam sheet off of the front until this point, ironically so it wouldn't get damaged and it had a large crack in the mirror. This was definitely caused either during delivery or was already there when it was shipped from Very as it had only been moved carefully out of the box. I have contacted Very and they said this: "Please accept my apologies for any inconvenience caused. The onus is on the customer to ensure all parts are present and free from defect before construction. Once an item is assembled the home approval guarantee is null and void. This is because the damage could have been caused during construction." I understand that my husband should have checked the cosmetics of each piece before assembling it together, so I can kind of understand where they're coming from…but after reading multiple terrible reviews about Very, I almost feel obliged to fight my case in this instance. Is there anything I can do, to get a replacement door? (The weird thing is, I emailed two different email addresses and one said the thing above, the second basically said they have ordered a new one and have sent it out! It was only a while after reading their email, that I realised that they didn't even ask what address to send it out to. So I'm not holding out hope.) Any help would be much appreciated :)

Very are wrong. What they are saying is correct, if you were wanting to return it under the distance selling rules if you just didnt like it, but as a part is faulty, your statutory rights kick in (something Very like to evade where they can) and you are entitled to a refund or replacement, even if it has been partly assembled.

I would recommend contacting them through their Facebook team as they are a bit more helpful than their customer services.

Hello, If they say they will send a replacement just wait a few days as they most likely will if they say they will. If not then ring them back and ask for just the replacement mirror if hey can't send a full replacement. This happened with my kids wardrobe an one price was damaged so I asked them for a replacement part instead of full replacement. It seemed to be easier. Either way they have to replace the damaged wardrobe!

I personally would contact citizens advice and see what your rights are and where you stand. That way if you If you are right to return which i reckon you should be then contact them again backing your self up witch the fact you have contacted citizens advice about the situation. Don't stand down all they will never return it. Remember the customers always right.

The item is not fit for purpose! Ask for a manager, demand to speak to one if they mess you about and contact CAB regarding your rights. They are wrong so let them know you will not go away until you are satisfied. Good luck!

Hey honey sorry to hear about this I expected this off these sharks. They are sharks. I spent hours ordering stuff, and I was going to pay full amount on my payday. Then they knocked me back last minute as I was on my way to pick up my goods. Well honey I would do this. I would log into your account and look up the help and see if you can start the complaints process from there. The next thing I would do is go on Facebook. If you don't have an account open one or use a friends. Go on face book and tell everyone you can. Then if they don't reply to your emails go on Facebook put their name in search and tell them on there that you're not happy etc. Do you have small children or kids? If so tell Very that's one of the reasons you didn't take the packaging off and left it until the last minute. I would also say that unless they resolve this asap you will never shop there again and will make sure that none of your friends do either. You can do real damage by warning people on twitter and Facebook. Tell Very you will not let this go and as a gesture of good will as a customer you should at least be offered a replacement mirror it's no skin off their very rich noses is it??Then go on twitter and either give them a chance after you email them a few dozen times, or put your warning up on there. I despise catalogue firms I really thought these were different. HA!! Same old same old. Good luck and if you need any further help putting an email together or anything let me know.

I am sorry that you have also fallen foul of Very's terrible customer service. I agree with the answer below that the item is faulty, but I too had a similar problem with a plate for a steam generator which had cracked. Unfortunately I got no-where and closed my account with them (happily after getting it replaced direct with the manufacturer), but Very were willing to loose a customer for a £25 part. I would escalate this further and under the distance selling rules, you did not see this item before you received it. Whether or not the part was broken before or after you received it is immaterial as it is not fit for purpose. I would definitely pursue this further and I wish you luck.

Thank you everyone! I thought that I would let you know that I took on your advice and I responded to Very and went on about my 'consumer rights' and how the item they sent me was not fit for purpose and of a satisfactory quality. (I basically tried to sound like I new what I was talking about.) I also emailed a different email that is connected to their social networking sites and basically explained my issue and they didn't even argue, they sent me out the spare part straight away and it arrived on the weekend! Undamaged. Luckily I didn't have to take any further drastic action, but thanks to your replies I was willing to! Thanks for your help guys :) I now have a complete wardrobe and one less thing to worry about! Thank you again! I'm very grateful that you took the time to respond. :D
