Not my first time with Palicomp but will certainly be my last, bought a PC for £3000 and then spent another £660 on upgrades, was having issues with the graphics card overheating and having the fans ramping RPM, the card was sent back to Palicomp to be tested and I was told "You are now outside the 1 Year parts cover and as advised prior the cooler had been removed from the graphics card before we received it here which voids any manufacturer Warranty." the card was never tampered with or anything removed from this, its simply a faulty card which they are trying to get out of replacing/repairing, they are all about being nice when they are taking your money, but as you can see from other reviews the after sales is a shambles, there plain rude, aggressive and have the customer service skills of a potato, stay well clear from these guys

Unacceptable packaging. Ordered a £1400 graphics card which arrived with a battered and torn box. The audacity of them to literally apply one layer of bubble wrap on one side and put the gpu in a box that can barely fit the gpu causing it to tear - cheaping out on packaging for a high value item. I immediately emailed support upon my items arrival and haven't received a response to this day.

AVOID—ordered for my sons birthday and the casing is second hand clearly used. There’s a 12cm Crack down the optical drive door presumably from courier. The Case is scratched, dirty and marked all over. Optical drive blank cap is missing. Remote for changing lights missing. Disgraceful. Wouldn’t use this company again. Only way to contact is via email. Not helpful at all. Will be contacting card issuer. No explanation at all for what I’ve received. Seems like they couldn’t care less.

So ordered 2700x mobo bundle, I even asked if they test them individually to make sure it's working they said yes. It was not so, I recieved mine and the mobo was out of date and had to be flashed by me. They sent me an older cpu to do it, fair enough but expected me to pay for shipping and the thermal paste needed. Then everyday after that, aftersales were phoning asking where is the cpu. It's only been a few days deliveries dont happen instantly. Manager then phoned and had apparently been told I am refusing to send it back. The recorded delivery I sent it back has said it's been delivered.

I have to admit I have not bought and will not buy. All looked promising at first, with my search engine search of "motherboard cpu memory combo". But upon inspection what they draw you to the sute with and what is actually offered is not a motherboard cpu memory combo. You have to buty the memory on top of the listed price. ITS NOT A COMBO IF YOU HAVE TO BUY SOMETHING ON TOP TO MAKE IT A COMBO.

If you are looking to configure a computer to a specifation from Palicomp's own list of brands don't go to this company. I emailed their sales department asking for brands of components taken from Palicomp's own list. My request was agreed on the phone to a sales person and I paid. When the computer arrived I found that many of the components were of different brands from the ones which I requested. I emailed Palicomp including the original specification but my email was ignored, no response. Also I was not sent an emailed acknowledgement of the receipt of my payment. These things are not good enough and a professional company would not behave in this manner.

I bought a PC from Palicomp a few years ago and it was a massive mistake. The main board blew within a month and they had to replace it, they wanted me to ship the entire computer back to them! Then them mentioned that my CPU might be too powerful for the type of motherboard, and tried to get me to pay to "upgrade" to a better one, despite the PC design being theirs... In addition the PC has consistently overheated and crashed. Even though I purchased the extra fans package, and replaced the thermal paste twice (once when the new MB came) nothing has helped. Overall: Terrible experience, will never buy another machine from Palicomp.

Bought a motherboard bundle by phone on Monday and talked into a £15 upgrade by salesman which included a supposed 3 year software receipt. Collected item which was boxed up and told everything was in the box. Got home no receipt for purchase or proof of what I'd paid for in box. Have rung 3 times and each time promised it would be sent by email. But nothing sent - so I have no proof of purchase. and no doubt my consumer protection is compromised. My first and last purchase from this outfit.

Bought a computer online and was happy with the price and spec. The day after the order was placed, I received a phone call to check on delivery, which turned out to be just a sales talk in an attempt to sell me their highest spec warranty. They offered it to me at over half the advertised price and promised various extras as part of the deal. I can't see any evidence that the extras have been included, they have taken more money from my card than they said was the cost, didn't include the revised cost in the confirmation email (presumably so I don't ring to query or cancel), and the standard items that come with the highest spec warranty, like keyboard and mouse, weren't included. Feel cheated. Wouldn't touch them with a stick.

I would quite simply like to say this, look down the page at each 1 star review or higher where the patrons seem to be most generous; and you will see they all exclaim that they were charged abhorrent amounts and were not informed nor requested. After my father completed his sale and I offered to pay for the system I enquired as to the amount, it was conflicting to the original order and I asked why. He proceeded to get an invoice from this establishment, which was not a standard part of the itinerary for some reason, and herein lay the problem, a “Carefree Warranty” added on and I can corroborate other claims of not being informed as we have fitted a call recorder for my father so as to follow up claims of non-compliance to the TPS for tele-marketers. Mentioning a warranty with some free upgrades does not entitle you to add £98 without confirming a price, this is sharp practice and against the law as per The Consumer Rights Directive 2014. This is disgusting and I have contacted a number of these reviewers to enquire if they would substantiate their claims of erroneous practice in a court or at the very least to trading standards along with myself, I will follow up with a case number and luckily for us all there are case precedents so no amount of evasiveness will get around this. Feel free to get in touch for case details and please confirm all implicated costs before terminating the telecon.

We are well meaning, but non techie, parents trying to buy a gaming PC for our son and it has been a horrible experience. We picked our way through the complicated list of options and created what we thought was a servicable system, within my son's budget. We then got a 'helpful' call from Palicomp, supposedly checking our order. That would have been useful, but instead they forced a £50 warranty on us, in exchange for some 'upgrades' that we hadn't requested. Nothing was put in writing until I requested confirmation, and then the cost was revealed as £68 not £50. We are not the only people to have this issue, so it's obviously standard practice. The computer arrived quick enough, but a week later it still isn't working. First we discovered we'd missed off the operating system, so that was purchased and sent. Then we discovered that the options to make the basic kit wireless are hidden well down the list of options and so we'd missed them as well. We went back to add those, and, as it was clear by now that we were making a hash of this and Palicomp weren't being proactive in offering advice, we asked if there was anything else that we needed to ensure our son could play the games he wants - no they said, you are fine. So we spent another evening trying to load everything up and as soon as he went onto the game that Palicomp had supplied with the machine he had error messages informing us that our graphics package isn't sufficient. Having called this morning it appears that the standard graphics support is only enough to play games at low settings. We are trying some free upgrades, but again it looks like an additional spend and several missed days. I have explained to the 'customer service team' that each failed attempt at getting this machine working is now reducing my son to tears, but no-one seems motivated to help us. Having saved through Christmas and birthdays he now wants it sent back. I'm beginning to agree with him! I am sure that if you know what you are doing this is all fine, but if you don't please beware!

When I bought my computer from them, they did call for the warranty upgrade. But they did not force it upon us. The warranty has proved to have been a life saver..... they have let me have new parts for this PC for free when I paid to upgrade my graphics card as it broke... I don't see why you are having so many issues. Although there is one setting that likes to mess up by itself and cause the PC not to work. It is easily changed though.....

To be fair, Palicomp's website is similar in design to most gaming comuter websites and fairly simple. To give a company a 1 star review based upon your own admitted lack of knowledge is unfair. I've had no issues with them at all, in fact I still use them regularly.
Just because you didn't know what you were doing, or ordering is not their fault. Who in their right mind would commit to buying an expensive piece of computing equipment without ensuring it had an O/S?
Stick to PC World, guys.

Going by the best buy report in Computer Shopper September 2014, I was going to place an order until I came across the 1 Star reviews on this website. Am I glad I took the time to read them. Why do computer magazine reviews not take into account the sales and after service of these companies.

I've recently had a friend tell me that he has had about 5 or so problems with this company in the last year since he saved up and spent his money on a proper gaming PC. Naturally we were thrilled to have him finally in the game of high end PCs, but in the following months, we can't believe how many issues there were with it. It seemed every MONTH there was a new problem cropping up with his computer. I've had Alienware Laptops before which have experienced this level of system failure, how I just cannot believe after nearly 10 years of building high end PCs, that these guys could screw up a simple home built custom PC. They can't even be bothered to update their website to (C) 2014, so why should you bother with wasting your time dealing with these amateurs who can't even be bothered to take care of the way they are presented? My friend has now asked several times for these guys to help fix his rig, and has had failure after failure. Want my advice? Go elsewhere or build your own. If you love wasting time and disappointments in life, then Palicomp will be right up your street, next to depression and a level of quality customer service and joy which rivals a drunken bar fight with raccoons. AVOID.

what would you make from this sentence "as you are so far away the boss is discounting the warranty, including some upgrades, cpu ram speed and £100 worth of games, all free of charge" well I assumed it was in its literal form, all those things free. Oh was i wrong, now I know why the ignorant salesman ignored all my questions, spoke over me and ended the call without responding.....he was stealing my money! He charged the warranty to my card at £98, the games totaled around £20 on-line at time of writing. When i saw this on my statement i called up, i was put through to accounts, which is who i asked for and was told "hold on" but the person i was put through to said accounts only deal by email. i sent the email to be told as i have the system and upgrades i cant have the money back! just wow!! I have kept the PC as it was for my mum and to be honest I have priced it up and its not even the cheapest for the price, but my mum is more important than these jokers. Dont do it, go pc world even, exactly the same contempt for their customers, but their honest about their crappy warranty.

You bought a High performance PC/ Gaming PC for your mum??? Really?
Over a grands worth??
Is she a game designer or something?
She is more likely to need your old laptop to open pictures and view emails. Not sure that your review makes sense. Not in my eyes anyways and I delt with them for over a grands worth as well... And I can not fault them even if I tried.
Written on: 08/08/2013
You're not sure that my review makes sense? I'm not sure that it should make sense, no company has the right to do what they did to me! I'm sure "Rich" did you a great deal and probbably explained it all to you as well and not just go you off the phone with no explanation....but the kicker is then refusing me the funds back , even though I never agreed to the charge in the first place, make sense? To them I'm sure it does, to me it doesn't and to be fair it doesn't affect you one way nor another. The PC was bought for my mums advertising company, how it's your business is beyond me, it should be the people at palicomp here trying to make amends, not you trying to guess my families usage?! and use my old laptop to open pictures and emails? really? how in the hell wuld you know anything about it? See this site is full of idiots as well as shills!

Having advertised a good price in a Computer Magazine they are quick to substitute for lower spec components resulting in a significantly higher price than the one your expecting to pay. They have substituted a number of components without consultation (external drives when internal ones were specified. As soon as your money has cleared the after sales department dismiss you and the only way to talk to anyone is to go through on the sales line and then get transferred. The customer support is uninterested at best and non existent at other times. I cannot understand why Computer Shopper and PC Advisor continues to recommend this dishonest and uninterested business.

All nice to you when you're placing an order tell you what you want to hear then, when they get your money it's a different story! My order was for £699.99, I get a phone call telling me I need to add "extra" features for my computer build, total price? £1,200. I actually laughed. The computer they was selling was under priced, only reason why I bought it as I thought I was getting a good deal. After telling the man on the phone I don't want this computer any more that's when the abuse, if you could call it that came my way, soon after the abuse this guy proceeded with attempting to take the original £699.99 from my bank account! What a joke. If it wasn't for my banks fraud team declining the payment because, and I quote "untrustworthy vendor". Don't be fooled by this company and definitely don't buy anything from them.

I had the same experience, i was not impressed with the person i spoke with on the phone. He was very patronising and rude, he kept talking over me when i asked questions and was very pushy in getting me to take the carefree warranty and as soon as i said i didn't want it he seemed to lose interest in me all together. I would advise palicomp not to treat people like this and i would advise others to avoid dealing with this company subsequently i cancelled the order.

This has got to be one of those company's that you ask yourself, why are they still in buisness? Dealing with theese people is like talking to a brick wall! No no no!

Never have I seen a company so appalling, -rude -no knowledge -patronising -once they have you're money there not givin it back! -all round poor

Interestingly, as soon as I posted this review and a similar one to a "popular social networking site", my receipt magically was emailed to me (using the slightly malformed surname I only use on said social networking site!). No apology though
