“Poor customer service and don't deliver on promises”

I used ElectroCentre and our washing machine broke and I was thrilled by their promise on their website that - 'all large products such as TVs, fridge freezers & washing machines will be delivered within 1 to 3 working days unless stated otherwise'. I waited a week and the item had still not been delivered and I had received no information from the customer services team. I emailed them and they wrote back to say that they had oversold their stock and there wouldn't be any more in until a few days later. Obviously I was very disappointed that they hadn't bothered to let me know this and it took me contacting them to give me any information. I asked them whether there would be any compensation for the delay given that they had failed to keep the promise that they make on their website. I am now currently being ignored by them and have received no response. Really really poor and I feel short changed. I won't be using them again.

they were great, i have read feed back before i went to buy stuff but for some reason they seems closed down. I think company no longer exist, i tries all possible means. I would advise to follow legal procedures.

“Very Bizarre Delivery Protocol”

If you're happy to be treated like a kid, buy from these guys based in Birmingham. I normally buy from Amazon but saving £50 on a TV I thought I'd take a punt. Mistake. Although their website says delivery takes 1-2 days and mentions couriers, ignore that. They deliver once a week themselves in a box van! I ordered Friday 17th, they delivered 24th as they basically wait and stack-up the orders until they have enough orders to justify the drive in your direction. I'm in the Manchester area. I thought it was odd that they phone to arrange delivery, this was 5 days post order. Read their FAQ's for more clues on this process. When they arrived at my 2nd floor apartment they refused to carry items above ground level. No Problem, I was happy to carry it up myself. They refused. Stalemate! And they wanted to open the box and run down a checklist, ensuring the screen was not cracked and that all of the items were present. It's a brand new LG LED TV, not plasma it would be fine, no need to check. I got to the point where I'd had enough of the nonsense so refused delivery and requested a full refund, which I await. If you want your item dropping off on a ground location and you're happy for this companies' delivery guys (one of which could not speak English) to open the box and start messing with your new item, then go ahead and order! Back to Amazon and hassle-free delivery for me.

“Wrong Television Arrived”

I was sent the wrong television, the box was open and the television was not securely packed, though it wasn't damaged. I phoned up to say that they sent me the wrong television, they said they would send me the correct one collect the one they posted. That was two days ago and I have no idea what is going on. I hope they get it sorted!

“Would not recommended this company at all !”

I purchased a 50 inch LG TV from this company, I had the item delivered which was ok, after getting the TV set up I found the TV did not do what LG stated it would do, I requested the seller pick the TV up under the sale of goods act, I had e-mail tennis for 2 days before they finally agreed to take it back, they tried to impose many restrictions to the return and even at one point stated I had to pay for the return, the after sales service / returns are very poor I wouldn't recommended them to anyone I knew altho there initial website / sales side of things were quite good, they also state upto 28days for a refund after they have the item back, why ?

“Great product, bad service!”

I thought that the price of the product was great and found that the free delivery and free of charge disposal for your old washer was great however i ended up not saving any money as when the washer was delivered the delivery men ripped the lino which will have to be replaced. I should have just bought the washer from Comet as it would have saved me money in the long run adding the cost of the lionelum flooring in the kitchen to the money saved on this website!!!

“Good price but wanted to leave fridge outside on the...”

i have purchased a BEKO fridge/freezer from electrocentre and although the price was good, they took 8 day to deliver, they would not give me a time slot, so I had to wait all day for delivery. When they finally arrived, they wanted to dump it on the path of my building outside, removed the box to show no damage (on a rainy day!!!), but worst of all they would not deliver into my home because I live upstears. Their argument is that it is mentioned in the terms and conditions that obviously nobody ever read them.

“Extremely Poor Customer service!”

Purchased Samsung fridge freezer on the Thursday 24th May, got call from them on Friday 25th to say it would be delivered the next day, Saturday 26th. That was great untill they called me later to say they had dropped it off the forklift truck and it was badly damaged and they couldn't deliver another one untill the following Thursday. I had already moved my old fridge freezer out into the garden to defrost so they could take it away and had to move it all back in and set it up again. They phoned to say they could deliver it on the Wednesday and I asked them if they could deliver it on the Saturday as it was more convenient for me, to which they replied "we dont deliver saturdays" to which I replied that they were going to deliver the previous Saturday so why not the next saturday. Very suspicious and I wondered whether the falling off the fork lift truck was just an excuse after they realised they had promised to deliver it on a day that they dont deliver on. I sent two emails to two different contact addresses from their website on 28th May and got a generic reply saying they normally respond in 24 hours. It is now 12th June and I have had no reply from them. Shockingly bad customer service.

“Refrigerator problems”

How would you feel when your new refrigerator turns up and the delivery people want to leave it outside, on your doorstep. I was quite annoyed. They insisted that it was only a "doorstep" delivery. When I ordered it, the salesperson said that the delivery people would not bring it up stairs (there are no stairs to my kitchen). I had to bribe them to bring it into my kitchen! They also refused to take away the packing, well unless I paid them another fiver. Disgraceful!

“Not Impressed”

The delivery men 'unwrapped' the oven in the van, WITHOUT asking if we wanted them to. When they brought it in we gave it a thorough check on the front and a cursory check on the top and side for damage but found none. We were concerned and suprised that they had unwrapped it but on finding no damage signed for the goods. On beginning the install we found that both locating brackets were missing, we then found a large dent on the side that had been put against the wall by the delivery men. On phoning Electrocentre we were told that any responsibility with them for damage had ended the moment we signed for it. After informing them that the item was not complete and therefore I would require a full refund, the operative told me he would need to speak to his supervisor and that he would call back the next day (Saturday). As it was bank holiday Monday I waited till Tuesday and after receiving no phone call I phoned on Wednesday again, only to find that nothing had been done and no record of the phone call existed. They have said they will call Hotpoint and ask for the replacement parts. Having recently bought a £1,350 TV from them I felt quite confident in ordering from them again. However if anything had gone wrong with the TV, I feel sure I would have been struggling to get a resolution for that as well! I will not be buying from them again and in future if any delivery men bring ANY item to my house unboxed I will automatically refuse to accept it.

“Everything was okay in the end.”

Website showed the item was in stock - which meant it should have been with me in two days. Then received it an email saying item was on back order. Then an email that it was due to be delivered on Sunday (7 days after placing order). Queried this and they said it would not that it would be delivered on Wednesday (10 days after order). Item was delivered on Wednesday but the box was wet and torn. I accepted delivery. Unpacked the item and a part was missing (fallen out from the massive slit down the side of the box). I got hold of Electro Centre and they had to arrange for the part to be sent out. They contacted the manufacturer. I was told it would be with me in two days it arrived today. So 5 days. So a bit of a nightmare. I wouldn't use again.

“Poor delivery service received”

I ordered a LG TV Skype webcam from Electrocentreltd due to a very competative price and good reviews regarding delivery times. 2 days after placing the order, it has still not been dispatched so I submitted a query. The query was resonded to within 24 hours and was polite and courteous bur informed me that there was no stock so delivery would be delayed by a week and the camera would be dispatched on 21 March. I received a dispatch note on 22 March (although if I queried my account on line it states it was dispatched in 15th March) and sat and waited. A week later, after not receiving the item, I queried again, only to be told that the courier had lost the item. Again there was nil stock so as soon as stock was available it would be dispatched. The items came into stock once again and my husband was told that it would be dispatched by special delivery on Thurs 29th march as we would expect to receive it no later than the following monday. Monday came and no camera was delivered. I sent a query to the online contact stating that if the camera was not delivered the following day, I wanted my order cancelled and a full refund. I received no response, but the camera was delivered on the tuesday with a complimentary blue ray disc. Overall, good price but poor delivery.

“Poor Customer care but extremely fast service and good...”

I ordered a samsung american fridge freezer the payment system messed up and I didn't feel comfortable ordering online and had to order over the phone and did not feel anymore confident after speaking to the staff who could not really explain why the payment online had failed but we were in dire need of a fridge as we had been without for a couple of days and it was delivered the next day which was impressive. I was disappointed to find out that they would only collect the old fridge if we paid £40 but given that their prices were very competitive it still seemed the best price we could get all told. However whilst it was good that they kept in contact to let us know when delivery would be that is really the only good thing I can say about the delivery process. It was my boyfriend who took delivery and after being told it would be here between 3.30 and 4.30 pm they did not arrive until gone 5 which wouldn't be that bad but they only phoned at 2.30 so I'm not sure why they could not have been more specific about the delivery time. After paying the £40.00 for the collection of the old fridge I understood that whilst they needed a clear passage they would remove the old appliance from the kitchen and they did not seem happy with this but told my boyfriend that if they scratch his back he should scratch theirs which my boyfriend took to mean offer them a cuppa and a biscuit perhaps although he did have £10 in his pocket to give them if they did a good job. However in the process of removing the old fridge and bringing in the new they manage to dent and mark up our door and archway leading into the kitchen I should mention that they are very near to the front door so they didn't have to go far. They unpacked the fridge in somewhat of a frenzy completely destroying the packaging and asked my boyfriend to confirm that it was undamaged whilst it was in a tight spot where he could see very little we only realised after they had gone that they had scratched the front of the door. Once they were finished they said well now we've scratched your back... and he offered refreshments and a rest but seeing as he was not happy with the damaged they had caused to our new home he was not tempted to offer them any monetary tips (!) and they left the house in what can only be described as a hump. As I work in the legal industry I know what our rights are in relation to the damage to the fridge and our home but I will not be contacting Electro Centre to complain as I would really rather not have another of their employees in my home again. If I wanted to buy some small electricals which would fit through the letter box in the future I might consider using this company but I would never suggest that anyone use them for any large appliances.

“Delivered at 6.10am on Sat and did not uplift old...”

Great to have the product delivered so soon after my order, however I hadn't counted on it coming at 6.10am, and I was the second drop off of the day!! When delivery was arranged I also was not informed that my old appliance was to be left outside on the street. A fairly obvious oversight on the company's part. The guys weren't happy to take the appliance from within the house, fair enough. I wasn't up for attempting to move it outside for them, alone, that early in the day and they also made it clear they were in no mood to hang about. Not too happy really, but delighted with the product and price.

“I WILL NEVER BUY AGAIN FROM ELECTRO CENTRE.”

I purchased a 60inch Plasma that was £300 cheaper than Currys and other major stores. I made my transaction online there was no need to register with them as your order process details do not change untill you have received a call from them. The delivery was the worst that i have ever experienced! The driver called i had to work out what he was saying as his accent was very strong. I received numerous phone calls for directions, i had to do a step by step direction for the guy who then asked me to help him carry the T.V 1 guy dragging my 60inch. Hurried me to sign so that he could go even though i couldn't see the T.V stand......In short the price of the item was a bargain but the zero Customer Service and Delivery protocol was a big downer.

“Lazy delivery men!”

This LG F1403YD washer Dryer is a great machine at a great price. This is my second LG the first lasting nearly ten years without a problem. When I checked with Electro Centre to see if it was in stock,the telephone staff were fantastic. I ordered it at 5.15pm on the Monday, and it was delivered by 1pm on the Wednesday. I live in a first floor flat, So when they arrived, I asked them if they could help me just up the communal staircase as its only ten steps and there were three of us.

“Poor Service”

Called beforehand to get idea on best day to order if wanted goods to arrive on a Friday as I was moving to a new house then, was told to order on Tuesday which I did. Advised I would be called day before goods delivered. Still no contact from them on Saturday so called and was told that as the washing machine was coming directly from the manufacturer it would be Tuesday before they would receive it in the warehouse and advised that it would be added as high priority for Wednesday delivery, asked for the fridge freezer to be delivered earlier now as fed up waiting but they told me to wait until Wednesday so both goods could be delivered together, reluctantly agreed. Got a call on Tuesday to say there was a mix up with delivery of washing machine and that it had gone to wrong depot so would not be delivered until Saturday at latest and the fridge freezer would arrive on Wednesday (8 days after original order). On Wednesday was told that washing machine would not be delivered to following week as wrong batch sent (European plugs), told them I would cancel order if not received by Saturday to which they repsonded that they would deliver by Saturday on which date I received it Very unprofessional service as on the website it stated 3-4 days delivery. It caused a lot of unnecessary stress when moving to new home.

“Poor Customer Service!!”

I wouldnt use this company again and I wouldnt recommend them to anyone. They called with less than 24 hours notice for delivery the first time so I had to refuse and they said they would be in touch with another delivery date. They called on the Monday and left a message saying that they would deliver Thursday pm, I called them Tuesday to confirm this and they informed me that their delivery person would call me 20 minutes before arrival on Thursday. Thursday came around and I waited and waited, eventually I called them and they said that the message they had left said Friday delivery!!! Needless to say I was not happy as I had arranged my day around them. Someone called Zabair said he would personally call me back that day to give me a rough idea of delivery time for the Friday - he didnt! Someone else called, no apology though. I still had to chase them on the Friday and they eventually turned up at 6.45 PM and still no apology. Not impressed at all.

“WARNING!!! FACTORY SECONDS”

I phoned to order a washing machine as the website was down and was informed they had no stock. "Oh, wait... yes we do", I was then told. Sounded fishy to me. One left; this set alarm bells ringing. I placed the order which disappeared into the system and never re-surfaced. I placed the order again and this one went through but after an engineer checked the machine (why would an engineer need to do this for an un-opened factory sealed box?)it was a faulty return and not available. Be very wary of a company sending out items that have been "checked" by their own engineers. A factory sealed item is always preferable to one opened before you get it. It would seem this company are so cheap as they are selling retuned stock from somewhere or factory seconds. Not a bad deal if it is listed as so but not when sold as Brand New. I am still waiting for my refund.

“Charged for service I haven't received”

I have no problem with the produce or timeliness of delivery. However, I paid £20 to have my old dryer taken away and it wasn't, despite it being clearly stated on the delivery note. An oversight - which is OK. However, I have written to them 4 times in the last 4 weeks for a refund of the £20 and have received no reply at all. I accept that oversights happen but to keep the money for a specific service not received and to ignore polite requests for a refund - simply not good enough. I will not shop here again and would recommend against them pretty strongly.
