I contacted one all after an accident with my laptop. After speaking to 3 different people, the last lady was very helpful and went through everything with me. At the end, we found out that the insurance won’t covert accidental damage to pretty much anything electrical as well as numerous other household items. In my opinion the insurance for accidental damage is useless and not worth the paper it’s written on. I will take out insurance with a different company who will cover items you would expect to be covered. Waste of time and money. Don’t bother buying if you need to claim.

“Living room ceiling fell in.”

We had part of our living room ceiling suddenly fall in yesterday. I called the emergency line but it's not considered an emergency. So this morning g I called the claims line and was delt with by a young lady. She was friendly and helpful and was concerned about our situation and after taking our details and information put us through to our insurance company. She did an excellent customer service job.

“Our damaged lock”

On our return from a break our front door lock wouldn’t operate. We couldn’t lock it and secure the house. There was a little of being moved from pillar to post, but not a lot. After a little bit of a wait we got through and things were dealt with very efficiently.

Booked a new home insurance policy with one call insurance…week later got a letter in saying I hadn’t declared a previous claim when doing on line and was going to be charged an extra premium !! I was positive I had…did online chat with the lovely agent…was a genuine mistake on my behalf and she wavered the extra fee…fantastic service can’t complain…

My renewal was sent in plenty of time, but had increased from the previous year so did quotes elsewhere, did online chat and got a revised quote which matched the others I do like One Call because they are UK and local but I don't like the fact you have to do this every year!

my renewal came through but was much higher than last years price and was just unaffordable. after a chat with Xar8on, we managed to get the price down but with a level of cover that was still acceptable to me. took quite a long time of going backwards and forwards but it saved me having to call

Got through the annual process of renewing with fairly minimal fuss, thanks to the two operators (PH8). Both were patient whilst I checked any answers that I was unsure of with my partner and thorough in the information and responses they gave. When the first operator had technical difficulties, the second one took over without too much delay. Only improvement would be if I could have done it over the phone. I did try, however their lines were too busy to get through earlier and the phone lines close much earlier than the web chat. I did try the callback facility, but for some reason my phone (a Samsung) blocked the call - not sure if their system or my settings were at fault. Still, definitely worth contacting to get the better price.

Happy with the chat i had today online with the agent, more than helpful with details i required. I had my renewal through that was much higher than i was previously paying. After speaking to the agent, we managed to agree on a lower amount that works for me and my family. Good service

My mother is 87 had a problem with her front door yesterday afternoon as it wouldn’t lock. The locksmith turned up at 11.30 pm did a temporary fix so she could go to bed. This morning my mother is being pushed from pillar to post by the insurance company whilst she seeks a permanent fix. The home cover has been a complete let down to say the least! Vulnerable person not good enough!

Most of the reviews seem to be about the taking out of the insurance, what about when people need to make a claim? Also, do they insure a property if it's left unoccupied for between 30 and 60 days?
