Woodville Kennel & Cattery, Wirral

Our lovely labradoodle Bertie has just stayed here for two weeks, having already stayed for a weekend earlier this year. He has also been bathed and groomed here.

I thoroughly recommend Woodville kennels and grooming, the staff are very caring and communication is excellent, even sending us pictures of Bertie while we were away when we asked, and texting progress updates when he was here for the afternoon being groomed.

Above all though what is really lovely is that each time Bertie has returned here he is so excited to see the staff, so he is obviously made a fuss of while he's here, and it's reassuring to see that he's happy to visit and helps us to feel less guilty for "abandoning" him while we holiday.

Just took our dog and cat here for an overnight stay and turned back round and brought them home! Dirty dingy smelly place and the workers there clearly don't give a stuff about animals. Foolishly we hadn't checked reviews beforehand so I can only hope that someone reads this and doesn't make the wasted journey there

I left my dog at this place, which I would do not never again.

If I had know how bad this establishment was I would have never place my dog there.

The owners and staff are dreadful and aggressive.

The animals are uncared for and are returned to you dirty smelly and with very bad diarrhoea.

I sent enough food to last my dog for 7 days she was returned with food and was thin.

when I challenged the owners about this they got very aggressive towards me.

I Would never take my dog there again or recommend for any family or friends to do so.

Left our dog for a weekend spent over a week backwards and forwards to vet trying to ease his stomach this place should be shut down owners more interested in profit than care for animals

You're obviously paying for new Range Rover

Don't use save your money this place is not luxury

We went abroad for in excess of 7 days on the 12th May 2016 and left our cat here on the recommendation of a friend albeit she had used the facility some years ago. I was shocked when we went to collect our cat. To put it bluntly she stank and the sleeping basket and animal carrier we had left with the cattery were covered in dirt and faeces. We had to wash everything when we got home.

More seriously was how traumatised our cat was once we got her home. We had never seen her in this state before. We will never use this facility again and will certainly advise our friends to do likewise.

My dog stayed over Christmas and in spite of previous reviews I viewed the place myself beforehand and was satisfied with the cleanliness and quality of accommodation. Yes it may be getting old but aren't we all and I'm told that the runs will be renewed in the near future

My dog was bathed in return the girls walked him to the car for me and I've had no problems.

A fly ball club use the facilities at the weekend and the yard manager of the horses is most helpful even when the kennel staff aren't present

Will be using again and will definitely recommend

My dog stayed in July whilst I was on holiday with my family and it was his first time. Friendly staff are friendly but some seem quite young. My dog was happy when we picked him up, had been eating fine and was clean unlike some of the other reviews... I like how there are only a few kennels compared to other local kennels. Think the kennels need work doing to them asap, looking tired and wood probably isn't the best. Would use again but there is room for improvement!

My dog stayed in2014 for 3 nights. She was traumatised when she came back and had a sore tail was limping and was filthy. It took her a week before she was OK as she had been terribly subdued and clingy. I let countless messages but could never get through to anyone. Her items returned with toys missing and didn't look like her bedding even been used. I would never leave her here again.

We now understand this business has changed hands since we last used used it. Had we known, we would have checked reviews, unfortunately we didn't. Our one year old fully vaccinated dog was taken there by our dog sitter( she was going on holiday) this meant he needed to stay for 7 days at the kennel. Our dog was collected by ourselves and within a short time of arriving home, we noticed he was unwell. Not having ever heard kennel cough before, we were very alarmed to find him collapsing and unable to catch his breath. The vet diagnosed kennel cough,which he had clearly taken badly, so immediately treated with antibiotics and antiflamatory injections. We were very shocked that this was ignored or not even noticed in Woodville. We also discovered our dog sitter had informed Woodville all our up to date vaccines were on record at the vets and they were given vets details to confirm this was the case.Our vet informed us this was not the case, there was no call from the kennel at anytime! This is very concerning and makes you wonder how scrupulous they are on checking dogs health info before boarding??? When confronted, the owner was very unpleasant and denied all knowledge of any dogs having kennel cough,but could not deny they had not made health checks . about our dog.. My husband went down to the kennel five minutes later following the telephone conversation.......funnily enough the owner was not available!!?

If we would have been made aware our dogs would be locked in a tiny cupboard space from 6pm until at least 8am we would not have used this place. No wonder there are many complaints of dogs returning dirty.

The fact the place is called 'LUXURY' is a joke if you see the wooden huts for yourself !

Communication with any member of staff is awful, they don't answer or return calls left on answer machine, which begs the question of 'how many staff are on site'
