The fitters lack of tools was poor, his jump start battery was only partly charged, so he borrowed mine and attached it with his to my battery which was enough power to start my car. He told me that I needed a new battery, so I went to Halfords to buy a new one. They tested my battery & alternator and told me that both were ok. HE DID GET MY CAR GOING SO I SHOULD BE SATISFIED.

The problem with battery re-occurred even though I driven well more than 30minutes advised by the guy who jump started the battery. As per the suggestion I stopped after driving more than 30 minutes at petrol station for fuelling and car didn’t started again. Please inform cartec about this and request in future to advise customer accordingly so that customer can take informed decision.

The technician was fantastic. He displayed very good technical knowledge, was courteous, friendly and did everything within his power. But, the administration between my call for support and the technician was poor. The technician was given the wrong location of my breakdown. Thus he travelled there first. He was slowed down by an unnecessary need for authorisation for every move he made.

They don't include a possible second tow after a breakdown that can't be repaired - it's not always practical to take the car to a garage straight away as a) they might be closed and b) not have the facilities to drop a car off out of hours. Both RAC and the AA do let you be towed home first and then let you arrange to drop off to a garage in your own time and then you can call them out again, so a second tow without a charge for the same breakdown. Startrescue charge for a second tow.

Call was answered straight away which was good. It took 19 minutes to complete call and arrange recovery truck - not acceptable. ETA for recovery truck arrival was upto 90 minutes - poor ETA. Should be down to nearest 30 minutes.

The people who dealt with my call were courteous and efficient but the breakdown people who attended me left a lot to be desired. They didn't even find me the first time,although they had my post code,so I had to wait to be rescheduled for another call. Very frustrating. After saying all that, perhaps it's all down to the price paid for the service. Will opt to pay a bit more in future.

3 babies in the car when broken down. Over 3 and half until recovery arrived. Should have been within 90 mins. No phone call to see if original recovery vehicle had shown up. I then spent over a hour on the phone back and forth. Another recovery company was contacted to come out. They came within 20 mins to be fair. With babies it should have been a priority

Yes the app which I found very useful,operator called me back within minutes told me that driver will be with me within 15 minutes Driver turned up in a tow truck & a jump starter which he never used basically said nothing really he could do apart from taking me home or garage opted for my local garage Garage said if the driver had a diagnostic machine could have told me straight away the problem.

The recovery Guy was brilliant and can't fault his knowledge and help, operator was very good. I am concerned that we would have been dropped off to be off loaded at Tickle Trout and picked up to be taken home and delayed by hours if the car was not mended by first recovery.I had 3 children in the car, very scared down an embankment on the M6 and crying as not safest place. Is this Policy?

Waited for over two and half hours after initial call . No call backs , I had to phone your company and request call backs . SOS . Motorcycles were amazing ! Brilliant mechanic knew there stuff inside out . Customer service the best I have ever had . It was SOS that saved the day . What an incredible service.

I was very disappointed to be charged £90 to use "specialist equipment" i could have brought myself for £80 (and this was for a set of 4 when I only used 2). I have recommended you to numerous family and friends on the basis of my previous happy experiences with you and know that at least 3 of your customers have purchased your breakdown cover on my recommendation! It's back to the AA or RAC for me next year, sorry! The service I received over the phone and with the actual service provider was excellent but I would definitely recommend paying the extra for a well known breakdown service to provide my cover in future to save on these hidden costs

Just to make things clear I have read the t&c's and am baffled as to why a winch and slippers (basically glorified door stops) which are supposed to be specialist equipment are regarded as non-standard equipment on a recovery vehicle when I only waited 15 minutes for a recovery driver to arrive and the loading of the vehicle took 10 minutes at best

The service provided by start rescue was excellent, but the recovery company left a lot to be desired. No attempt at repair was made and my request refused although this had been offered by startrescue. The operative was rude, asked intrusive questions, abrasive in his responses and incorrect about information he insisted on giving me about garage opening times. Start rescue should check that their contractors have good customer service skills!

Three times were given for technician to arrive, finally arrived after approx. 150 minutes from first call to centre. Call centre staff were good but I had to keep phoning back if technician had not arrived by specified time. As he was dropping me off he got his next call out, Morpeth, at least a two hour drive in the vehicle he was driving, maybe a bit too stretched to provide a fast service.

This was because the breakdown lorry had no jump leads long to clip on and could not position the car so had to tow to nearest honda garage this was no fault of your selfs and let your wonderful service down this was not your fault and woulduse you again
