A really useful piece of free software - I've used this for about a year now and its been very effective. Works quietly in the background with negligable impact on performance, unlike my other security products.

Would recommend this to anyone, alongside a good anti-virus package.

ZoneAlarm Firewall is a great no frills firewall that really keeps your pc safe. It's really easy to check what programs you want access to the internet. It's great, I've been using it for a year now and the best part - it's free. Works on xp and vista.
