Ryobi Rattle Apart Like No Other
I am a full time landscaper and I use all types of petrol powered garden equipment on a daily basis.
My regular hedge cutters were in for service leading me to purchase a pair of Ryobi Ry39500 for casual work and as an emergency back up.
Initialy the unit looked pretty good and solid, however after around 20 mins use the vibrations from these trimmers became unbearable.
I only had to cut 3 or four hedges that week and after 2 hours of work the machine started to rattle loose at the engine mounts causing the machine to fail.
I took the unit back to my local ARGOS store and they changed the unit under my extended warranty.
The second unit was no better lasting only 3 hours before the blades stopped working. Once again I returned the trimmers and took a replacement pair.
The third and final pair lasted around 3 hours under normal privet hedge cutting conditions before all four of the engine mounting bolts rattled lose, causing the hot engine and exaust to fall onto and burn my forearm pretty badly.
I returned the unit to Argos for a full refund. Argos were not at all bothered about my injury despite showing them the burn and providing photographs.
All in all I would describe this machine as very very poor quality. Not fit for purpose and an absolute waste of woney.
If you want a good pair of hedge cutters spend a little more and go for a descent brand.

Although This Ryobi Ry39500 Trimmer Has Some Desir
Although this RYOBI RY39500 trimmer has some desirable features, the vibration factor is unbearable. I used it for about two minutes and my hands were bere becoming knumb due to vibrations in a very short time. Also it struggles to get through 3/4 in. shrub branches.
