I will be withdrawing my money as soon as I can. I have hit hardship and the company refuse to reply and consider my circumstances to release funds from a fixed rate account. Even though another bank Shawbrook who have been brilliant have said my circumstances do qualify under hardship provisions. Aldermore have done nothing but stall continually and fail to reply in their business day guidelines. I will be now making a complaint to the Ombudsman as even trying to make a complaint with them has been difficult with no one replying to me!!!!!!!

Poor, fail to meet FCA regulations, no understanding of FCA treating customers fairly, I'm going to continue posting negative reviews each week until this company accepts they have got it wrong, this company wouldn't go wrong having there FCA licience revoked and be put out of business, make things up as they go long make offers they don't stick too, then they try to cover tracks with further unorthodox tactics.

Don't contact you about your new mortgage enquiry, they just don't bother replying to your messages. You get a 'we will contact you in a couple of days' then a week later nothing..try again and you get the same thing. If you want to waste a lot of time and get nowhere then this is the place.

Applied for mortgage in principle through broker; explained very clearly to Business Development Manager about self-employment status, time trading, available accounts etc. In principle was approved with no issues. Was informed all was ok and employment status was within their lending criteria. Made full application and passed all affordability checks, LTV criteria etc. etc. Full application was OK'd by underwriters but then refused by Risk Manager who decided he wanted another years accounts or he'd lower the offered LTV from 95% to 85%. This was challenged by my broker and by Aldermores' own underwriter but the Risk Manager would not honour what had been promised all through the weeks of the application process. Making a Financial Ombudsman Service complaint about 'unfair treatment' of customer by clearly stating one self-employment criteria all through application until final minute when criteria was changed with no reason or warning. Read on other review sites that Aldermore has a reputation of issuing In Principle decisions and then reneging on them - guess I'm just another victim who's lost a house sale and purchase due to shoddy practices by this lender.

You pay £325 for a valuation, In my case they reported back saying the house valued to where I needed it to be for my re-mortgage. They then a week later said they "made a mistake" and its actually £10k less. So effectively no use to me - and the £325 is non refundable. In my eyes they have charged me for something that is of no use, their mistake and the money is down the drain. Sharp practice in my eyes and an easy way for them to make money. Shocking. Avoid.

We had struggled to get a mortgage due to adverse credit through an ex and thought we would never get one. Aldermore were fantastic looking at more than just a credit number! They were quick with out Mortgage in principle decision and because of us having a mortgage broker they told us which information would be require and they took a little bit of time to go through the whole process around 2wks however we got the decision we were wanting and every part of the process was straight forward.

Hi , how long did it take for you to get a decision after Aldemore did the survey ?
Written on: 24/06/2017
Hi after Aldermore received all your documents and carried out a survey how long was it before you got the decision? We've had it agreed in principle, they've got all our documents and have surveyed the property , just wondering how long the wait would be
Thanks

I opened an fixed term account with Aldermore which included a bonus interest payment at the end of the term When the account matured tey automatically transferred it to another fixed term account with a lower interest rate and no bonus on maturity. I called them and told them that this was not a suitable product for me - they tried to fob me off; when asked to write to me formally they sent a letter sighting a clause in the original account t&cs saying they could transfer the funds to an account that was the 'same or similar' - clearly an account that pays a much lower interest and no bonus is not the same or similar to the original - intend to challenge this from several angles- Treating the customer fairly- FCA regulations, Ensuring the product is suitable for the customer - this is not and contract interpretation .If you have had a similar experience then consider doing the same- this seems like a bank that is desperate to hang onto deposits once they have them rather than winning by dealing fairly and providing a good service.

I have had endless issues with this bank. From opening a cash ISA and it taking much longer than expected and not depositing my money into the correct financial year until I had to get rather angry and threaten them that I would be contacting the Ombudsman as they didn't open it in time but a mistake from their end and not mine. When I did threaten to contact the ombudsman then miraculously they were able to put the full amount of money into the correct financial year but this was after being told that it would be impossible and nothing could be done. Strange how things change from impossible to 'We are now able to do it as a one off' when it was a mistake from their end anyway. Even trying to take my money out has been an issue. Never straight forward and as for the online service, when the cumbersome system decides to work i have found it not to allow me to carry out simple tasks and it tells me to call. I have just requested to close down both my accounts as this Bank is more trouble than what it's worth. I find that a lot of the information that they give you is rather condescending at times and rather vague as to why things haven't been done or have been done incorrectly. I wish I would have read some of the reviews before opening the account at the end of March 2016 as there seems to be rather a lot of negative reviews. They are negative for a reason. Beware!

I went to Aldermore in order to take advantage of their linked ISA accounts, but have had endless problems opening the correct accounts. They have wasted huge amounts of my time and have written condescending replies to my enquiries. I'm taking the case to the Financial Obudsman. Don't waste your time with this bank.

Tried to lease a van with Aldermore as the funder; never have I had such a problem with a funder to get a lease sorted. Completed all documents as requested on the initial acceptance yet 2 weeks on after documents have been submitted they have not got it sorted and have asked for a additional information (not once but we send what they ask for, they then ask for something else) all for a business with over 50 years trading and two commercial premises owned! Don't waste your time to get the slightly better rate, it really isn't worth it....

Complete waste of time, they string you along, you pay for the valuation fee and then once you pay them they ask you question after question until they can find a reason not to lend. The process takes months and they have no intention on lending . I was putting down 35% deposit with a good income . Please be warned there are much better options out there .

As first time buyers the process was a little daunting, however from beginning to end our broker at Aldermore was fantastic. The whole process was so much easier than I thought and everything was explained so clearly. What really helped was the initial conversation to obtain a decision in principal. We talked through all of our finances, or position, deposit etc and then we received the offer. We did actually then find a property which was a little over however this was just amended and all was fine. I can honestly say without our broker this would have not happend. Any question which I thought of in the middle of the night and emailed over to him, he would be sure to respond the next day. There was no playing phone tennis and he was always at the end of the phone to talk. This could not have gone better - and we look forward to dealing with Aldemore, especially our broker when our 2 year fixed is up. Also, when we moved in we were sent a welcome hamper which is a really lovely touch. There are so many companys out there who really do not care about their customers, my own bank included -the rates are a little higher however the service is priceless.

I've been with them for 3 years. I've never had a problem speaking to a human when I needed to. The Log in process is a bit too detailed/difficult to remember, but they do pay good rates of interest. If the log in on the website wasn't so convoluted - user ID + password + random question - I'd probably give them 5 stars.

Once they've got your money in their holding account they seem to very quiet. As other reviews have stated, getting through to talk to anyone is not an easy task. Even when I did get through it wasn't easy to find out what was happening to my account & their explanations for the delay in opening it were vague. I am quite concerned as I have requested an ISA transfer from another provider & that still hasn't happened. They say they have a large backlog of customers to deal with & this is often the problem with lesser known banks. I am worried that I will lose a lot of interest due to the delay. Probably best to go elsewhere !

Took 5 days to get through on the phone, no reply to email and mailed forms took ages to arrive. Gave up in the end and went elsewhere to open an ISA, done on same day. Would not recommend Aldermore to anyone and will avoid them in the future.

Aldermore failed to transfer in my Cash ISA after multiple attempts. I was forced to wait weeks at a time, only to be informed that the transfers had failed for vaguely-specified reasons. After the third failure, they informed me that I had been slightly too slow to respond, and that I would have to open a new account at a much-reduced interest rate. To add insult to injury, the phone waiting queue to find this out was rather long. I would not consider banking with Aldermore in the future. I took my business elsewhere.

Aldermore have every trick in the book to ultimately cost you money, they mess around at every phase of a mortgage process wanting this and that and then more. Totally unprofessional in every aspect, changing your solicitor so they get back handers from their "appointed" one. Fixed rate penalties are way above any other lender. Read all the reviews before approaching this company, try Colombian or Nigerian banks or mortgage companies as they will have more scruples and business ethics. All positive reviews are tongue in cheek and obviously set up in house.

I went through a mortgage broker to secrure my new mortgage. My credit rating wasn't the best so therefore I knew the High Streer lenders would certainly reject me. My mortgage broker suggested Aldermore. The rates weren't the best but were by far the best away from the high street lenders. I was offered a rate of 3.98% fixed over 2 years which I was happy with due to my credit scoring circumstances. Aldermore were very quick and professional throughout; correspondence was excellent and I was updated sufficiently. Valuation fee was paid and all in all the whole process was relatively quick. I had a cash buyer on my previous property and we purchased a new build; the whole process took between 6-8 weeks to complete. If you're credit rating isn't the best the I cannot reccomend Aldernore enough. They made it possible for my family and I to secure our dream home and our move possible.

A factoring service that deliberately tried to sabotage my husbands business by withholding funds collected on invoices as they, in their opinion, decided that the business was going to fail. And when another factoring company were appointed they decided to levy ridiculous charges to end their agreement. Nothing short of disgraceful behaviour by a supposedly reputable company. Unfortunately they seem to employ people who have no idea of the business world, but have all the attributes of a bunch of overpaid thugs. They seriously need to improve the standard of customer service. I read several emails from their employees and have never witnessed such arrogance and self importance. If you want a factoring company that treats you and your business well then steer well clear of this bunch!!
