A heavy duty rod for heavy duty work is how I would describe the Shakespeare POWERPLAY. It is well finished and has quality whippings with lined rings throughout its length. It is light and flexible in its weight range but is very unforgiving if you go below its casting weight. This aside I have found it to be quite flexible with plenty of feel in use. It has a very progressive power delivery and copes with large and heavy fighting fish with ease. It is very well priced and comes in a quality bag. It is two section which makes a ski slot in the car a necessity. It does not come with a carry tube and extra care is needed in its transport. The rod casts well and can be precisely aimed making it a pleasure to use in its casting weight range. All in all given its price it is a good heavy duty rod and to date has given faultless service in use

This is my third season with the Shakespeare powerplay rod which continues to give good performance and faultless behaviour. Other than the fact it is two peice with the transport difficulties this invokes continues to be a big gun in my rod arsenal and one I will continue to use with confidence
