I made an appointment with Envirosolar after receiving a cold call. The guy who turned up was very polite and courteous albeit somewhat condescending when explaining how a central Heating System works. I did not expect the appointment to take 3 1/2 hours. Everything was fine until we came to the price. The first price given was extortionate and when I said no in came the hard sell. The price was reduced by a third but when I said I would not be making any decions that day the hard sell got 'harder'. 'Let me phone my office'. Where have I heard that before. The price was further reduced to half the original one given. Still very expensive for what is basically a pump in a box. I challenged the salesmans (sorry Advisers) figures regarding savings to which he got very defensive and finally left as I was getting very agitated. The Central Heating Management System seems to be a good one but not at the extortionate price they want.

had enviro install a magicbox to improve the efficiency of my central heating and hot water system and all went o.k except after sales service which was rubbish however when they came calling again wit the solar panel magic hot water system I made the big mistake of going for it also they made a mess of my hatch into the loft when installing the new cylinder and left it in a real mess and trying to get someone to correct this was a nightmare so now I am left wit trying to bring in my own plasterer/joiner to complete the job all the promises made by the sales never came true even thogh he claimed to be the sals manager and was inscotland to set up a new operation here and he would personally take on my case and make sure everything was alright he even gave me his direct phone number for any problems but after a while my phone calls were never answered so I made a big mistake going for solar panel water heating before this was fitted I enjoyed instant hot water now I have to wait for an eternity for hot and the icingon the cake was my electricity provider put my monthly direct debit up because I am usig more electricity so much for magic boxes

In June 2011 I had 6 PV panels installed on my roof. A First Class job - no problems - all went well. Why only 2 stars? In November Enviro offered me 7 additional panels for the price of 6. I accepted. The panels were installed 2 days later than expected. The electrician, installed a completely separate system for the new panels instead of simply enlarging the existing system. The new system didn't work - ie the meter wasn't registering. After many phone calls, an electrician investigated and found that the wrong inverter had been fitted. It was changed the same day. It still didn't work. More phone calls. Eventually, another electrician called to investigate. The panels were OK, the inverter was OK but the all important meter was still not registering. He did suggest connecting the new inverter with the original meter. But he was told by Enviro to get the new system working. He tried at least 4 alternative meters. Still no good. He then checked the isolator switch and found that it had been wire incorrectly. He fixed it and the meter began registering. Hooray! The whole task took nearly 10 weeks to fix. Since then I have been pestered by Enviro's sales staff trying to sell me additional panels (there's no room on the roof) or the 'air to air' system which I do not want. I have even asked Enviro's MD to instruct his staff to stop bothering me. But they still call. Hence only 2 stars.

Following a cold call a salesman arrived shortly after. He made false claims for their system and offered £2000 discounts for a immediate sale. Convinced that they were a reasonable company to deal with I signed up. The installation was of average quality and caused some inconvenience. The price I paid was well over twice the market rate. The payback time will be twice what it should be.

I also received a cold call, and after I showed an interest in their promotion an appointment was arranged for about 2 hours later, our consultant was very good and offered a discount because we had agreed to take part in the promotion. Even the full price was competitive, based on what is available in the market, their panels are almost three times more powerful than other panels that are available, yet only around twice the price. At first, I was unsure of the claims made by the consultant, but he explained everything in detail, and the figures added up.
I can only assume the reviewer above is comparing EnviroSolar's quality unfairly against the average systems available, to show contrast I will detail the quotes I received from EnviroSolar and another company:
Other company: 8 panels for £15,000 producing a total of 'approx' 1200 units per year, with a 5 year guarantee.
Envirosolar: 6 panels for £16,200 producing a total of 1143 units per year (enough to cancel out my electric bill) or 8 panels for £16,875 producing a total of 1521 units a year, with a 25 year guarantee.
This shows how EnviroSolar's panels are more efficient, but are NOT twice the market rate, remember quality costs more and in my opinion EnviroSolar's extra cost is justified by what they offer to the customer, including a replacement inverter every 7 to 9 years (they do need replacing), which would cost £1500 a time at today's prices. With the possibility of needing 3 inverters in 25 years that works out at £4500. Therefore, effective EnviroSolar are cheaper than the other company who quoted me.

To Guest who commented after my previous comment:
Please note the date of my review... 27/10/2011, This is BEFORE the reduction in Feed-in Tariff rates, and therefore before the 'across the industry' system price reductions, and I am aware that EnviroSolar have negotiated with suppliers to reduce their 6 panel system to £8,050 and 8 panel system to £9,100, as the Feed-in Tariff return are averaging only £12k-£14k compared to previous averages of £26k-£28. So glad I got in before the tariff change!!
Buy the way, forget to say... 8 panels for £16,875 was my original quote from EnviroSolar, what I paid will remain a mystery as I promised EnviroSolar my strictest confidence, but was below £10,000, so looks like 'guest' paid over the odds.

I am not sure what you eventually paid for your PV intallation but noting GSpiers comments I would say the prices he quoted for 6 and 8 panels was well over their value. I was offered 12 panels from envirosolar for £13,500, which is under 1/2 his figure for 6 panels. I am sure I would not have been offered this price if they did not make a profit from it, so they must be making a huge profit if they sell them at the price GSpiers quotes. I personally however would never recommend envirosolar due to the appalling service they eventually gave me.
