“avoid avoid avoid”

On Wednesday 26th August 2015 we organised a bus to take us to Reading Festival through COACH BROKER. We were given a bus that was provided by RICKS TRAVEL. The bus was oranisged to pick us up from the festival at 12 noon on Monday 31st August (Bank holiday) After waiting for half an hour, allowing for traffic, the bus still hadnt shown up so we tried to call the number of RICKS TRAVEL lots of times. There was no answer. After waiting for an hour or more we decidied we should try their emergency number that was provided on the website..however there was no answer also! This left us with no choice that to contact another bus company, BIZZY BEES, and organise a new bus last minute and on bank holiday. Costing us, 21 under 19 year olds, an additional £450 to the £650 we paid for the original bus from RICKS TRAVEL. We were unable to get hold of them all of monday. We were left waiting outside the festival for 6 hours in the pouring rain before we were able to start out journey home. On tuesday we rang to ask what had happened and the man, who was extremly rude, uniterested and unhelpful, told us that the driver had called in sick however on another occassion told us that the driver had gone on holiday. He then told us to contact COACH BROKER, when we had told them what happened they contacted RICKS TRAVEL, who had yet again fabricated another story about how the bus had broken down on the way to collect us and had tried to call around to organise a new bus for us and that it was out of their control that we were inconvienienced.COACH BROKER believed this pack of lies, outrageously, and have just wanted to forget about the issue. There was no efforts made to compensate us and no responsiblitly was taken by either companies. If you are looking to book a bus then I would steer clear of this

“Liars”

I called coach company to change my 25 seater to a 16 seater as it cheaper got an email saying it will be £86 cheaper where online it says £300. So o decided to keep the bigger coach for the sake of £86. And they still sent smaller coach Anyway and emailed for compensation or difference and they said there is no difference in price.

“The coach failed to turn up. No solution was provided”

We booked a coach from Manchester to the races for 4pm. At 4.10pm there was no sign of it so we called for an update. After being placed on hold we were told, it had broken down, but a replacement would be with us imminently. at 4.30pm I called again. We were told the replacement had broken down, and another replacement would be sent. At 5pm we called again, we were told to call the coach company; Coach broker was just a broker and was not responsible for the delay. We called the coach company and spoke with the driver. He had no broken down and was stuck in Birmingham. A number of calls back and forth continued. Coach broker basically passed the issue to the coach company, who, in turn stopped answering the phone. They would not help in creating a solution, and would not engage. Unfortunately no coach turned up and we missed the races and Madness concert which followed. We have yet to have any contact and we are yet to have any money returned

“Overpriced and inefficient”

We hired a minibus from Coach Broker for a very straightforward journey. When I booked by phone, the gentleman said "That will be a cheap run". I suppose it was if you consider £195 cheap. When I had agreed to take it, I was passed on to the payments department who told me the cost was now £200 - they could not explain why. The night before our outing, I had a call from the minibus driver asking where he should pick us up! When I told him I had already given the postcode when I booked, he said "Oh, you booked through Coach Broker - they don't care as long as they get their cut." He did arrive on time, but it turned out he didn't know his way to our destination and took us by a very circuitous route. He also didn't know about a stop we were due to make on the way back, and had no idea where it was. How a minibus driver can expect to do his job without a satnav or even a map is beyond me. Coach Broker later sent me an e-mail asking me to "use the link for feedback" as it was so important to them to give good service! However, there was no link in the e-mail, and when I e-mailed them back to ask about it, they just didn't reply.

“Terrible Service”

After booking a minibus for 11 days for a major US company to take them from their hotel to a film studio, I was disappointed to find they had hired a company from Wales who had no local knowledge of Bristol. The minibus leaked when it rained and they were consistently late for pick ups due to the distance they were travelling. However, the worst part is the contract was agreed with coach booker only for the minibus firm to refuse to continue the job after five days because they had to pay the toll bridge charge. The company waited until Friday at 6pm on a bank holiday weekend to demand more money otherwise they would cancel the job. Having no choice, we paid the extra money. I contacted Coach Booker with my complaint, but they failed to respond. After calling them again, they claimed that I was responsible for any toll charges. I checked through the contract and there is no mention of this anywhere. They also claim that we left the minibus waiting on drop off and pick ups, a complete lie. Coach Booker took our £200 booking fee and have waved all responsibility. I would avoid this company as they are only interested in obtaining their fee. I waited 6 weeks for a reply and they offered 20% off my next booking, which is a standard offer they have running all the time. The attitude of the customer service manager is appalling and she has failed to reply to my follow up email.

I am researching coach brokers because I believe they should be regulated. Currently they are not regulated and do not have to have an Operators license and often those booking coaches with them do not realise they will sub contract a coach and no matter what their website says and indicates that they have a fleet of coaches, often the coaches do not belong to them. “RIPPED OFF !”

was promised a party bus for my sons prom along with 12 of his friends ,gave them all the details, was given a price of £390 the booking was made the lads were well chuffed. The following week was told it was not certain to arrive at the agreed pick up time , so they could supply a minibus instead ,I told them to provisionaly book it but needed to speak to my son first, got home from work to find that they had booked it anyway and taken £94 OFF MY CREDIT CARD ,nine yes nine phone calls later was told they would be keeping my money and basically that it wasn't their problem .PLEASE do your self a favour and avoid this shower like the plague they are complete rip off merchants , phone local coach companys direct and make the booking yourself you would be much better off.... if they could not guarantee the coach I asked for then they should not of promised it me..

“Disappointing”

Buses booked for us were old, shoddy and broke down. Driver didn't know where he was going and boot wouldn't open to store wheelchairs. When I complained to them they weren't interested ands said take it up with the bus company. The pictures on the web site are not true. Do not use them.

“Totally useless coach company”

DO NOT USE THIS COMPNY!!! We had a coach booked for my hen do to take 16 of us to Brighton. The coach was booked 6 months in advance. One the afternoon before my event we phoned to make sure that everything was ok. We were told yes it was. On the day of my hen do the coach did not arrive. Half an hour after the due time we called to find out where the coach was and were told it was not coming, and that an error had flagged up on their screen. We were all totally amazed by this and disgusted. We had a paid event starting at 4 which we were now going to miss. The phone staff were rude and abrupt and said they would call back in 5 mins....which they did not. They said it was not their fault and could only appologise. They were not prepared to help sort out an alternate. So in summery my hen do, which I had been looking forward to for months has been ruined, I will never get that moment back. All my friends have been disappointed and lost a lot of money. There has been no apology or compensation offered. The following morning they had the cheek to send an email asking How did we enjoy our coach experience and could we leave feedback!!!! Disgusting!!! Here's your feedback. Your a bunch of useless, rude, unorganised, unprofessional, scamming no good morons!! Do not use coach broker

yes, I am director of BUSK UK. We are based in Newport. Currently setting a draft industry standard for coach brokers to work to. They coach broker industry is not regulated. I organised a meeting in Swindon just two weeks ago for brokers and operators to discuss this and it was well attended by good brokers and operators. If you visit Route One magazine on line and read last week's issue, it is reported in this. (Trade press). I also have spoken to Trading Standards in Cardiff about this company. The BBC in Cardiff know who I am and have reported on my work and that of BUSK for the last twenty years. Thanks.

“Review of Coach Broker”

I feel a fool - I had read the reviews of Coach broker before confirming my coach booking. But still went ahead, convinced that if I gave them a detailed itineray of my coach trip, kept all email correspondence confirming the booking nothing could go a miss. How wrong I was! Coach Brokers have a great sales team - They respond very quickly, give you a great price, even send photos of a fabulous luxury executive coach that you will travel on. Hooked by price and the quality of the coach I booked a coach for trip to Europe in March for a trip in June. Between March and June, wary of the bad reviews on this site, I had contacted Coach Brokers and the Coach Company a number of times to check all was fine with the booking and told that it was. At 5.00 pm the day before the journey. I was contacted by Coach Broker saying that an additional £600 was now required in order for the booking to go ahead. As it was too late to organise alternative transport, I reluctantly paid the additional amount. When the coach arrived next morning it did not resemble the coach in the photos - and the coach company wanted additional payment for drivers food for the journey. I am now taking this matter up with trading standards. My simple advice if you want a hassle free coach booking for an important trip -do not use Coach Brokers or even their sister company Limo brokers. You will be disappointed.

please could you make contact with me? I am the director of BUSK and I am researching this company. Trying to set an industry regulated standard for brokers to work to. I would be interested to know how you got on with Trading Standards. BUSK has also formally complained to Trading Standards for working on Coach Brokers website that is misleading.

“I booked this company for my wedding in August last...”

I booked this company for my wedding in August last year. The coach failed to turn up so I had to pay for taxis for all the guests personally. Six months later and they haven't responded to my requests for a refund, despite failing to ensure the services I contracted them to undertake were carried out, so I am taking action to recuperate the money and refer them to trading standards. It's also worth noting that their terms and conditions try and exempt them if anything goes wrong on the basis that they are operating as an intermediary (i.e they don't operate the coaches personally). I can only speak from personal experience, but I wouldn't recommend using them.
