There are plenty of comments on forums about this company. I ordered an inner tube. 2 months later despite several emails to them and nothing has arrived. DO NOT USE THEM simple as.

A truly awful company. I placed an order and after 3 weeks of no item arriving, I phoned them, only to find my product was not in stock. I rang repeatedly every 3 weeks or so with the same response that it was expected within the next few days. I gave up after a while and requested a refund. After no refund was given, and my numerous unanswered calls to their York store, I decided to take the money back through my bank. Thankyou Bike Outlet for teaching me the true meaning of terrible customer service. DO NOT USE THEM!

Placed an order. No next day delivery. No response to emails, no answer to phone calls. They took the money and no goods.

I paid for my bike the end of march and told it would be with me in next 7 days. Nearly 4 weeks on still no bike. I phone them every day all day and no one answers ! I have emailed and no one replies. I have been in touch with my credit card company who will be acting to retrieve my money at the end of the month. This is my worst experience ever. Please don't pay any money to these people.

Ordered a bike on 9th April due to be delivered within 1-5 days, still not received. No answer to any phone calls or reply to e-mails. Have also noted on e-bay that they are no longer a registered user. Have been in touch with Sage payment as they are the third party who deal with the secure payment method to them and were not aware of any problems. I have already been in touch with my credit card company to arrange a chargeback. Can't afford to lose £200.

I ordered a bike that was supposedly in stock on 27/3/13 and have still not received it, despite the confirmation email saying it would be delivered in 1-5 days. I have had no replies to my emails and nobody is answering the phones on either the shop or online order numbers. Having tried for several days I have my doubts as to whether they are even still open. Avoid at all costs! I am now nearly £200 down and am contacting my credit card company.

I ordered a bike for my daughters birthday. Website stated bike in stock, and bikes offered on next day delivery. Next day came and went, as did many others. Rechecked web site, next day delivery apparently means anything from next day to 5 working days, and sometimes 7 working days. 7 working days has come and gone and still no bike. I have repeatedly e.mailed the bike outlet and have to date had no replies! My daughters birthday is now only days away and still no idea if I can even expect her bike, or even a refund so I can shop for another. I have never had a worse "shopping experience" than the bike outlet have given. Please save yourselves a lot of time and trouble and shop elsewhere.

I ordered a Hope bottom bracket on 30th Jan. Waited for a week. Nothing. Called The Bike Outlet. Received a few grunts and was asked what colour I had ordered, not my name or address! Told that they were waiting for supplier to deliver parts! Ok I thought! There's been some bad weather. I can wait a bit longer! Waited for a second week. Nothing. Called The Bike Outlet. Much the same response. So I explained my predicament in more detail. Told the part would be arriving by the weekend (two days time). Ok I thought! What's two more days? I can wait a bit longer! Waited a third week. Nothing. Called The Bike Outlet. After explaining the situation in great detail, questioning why The Bike Outlet had been accruing interest on my £60 for three weeks. Was told that Hope were not sending them any more stock because The Bike Outlet were selling the parts "too cheap!" So I thought I'd check. In stock. All colours. The website claims! So I asked for a refund. As of this morning (21st Feb) surprise, surprise no refund. In conclusion I wouldn't go near The Bike Outlet again with a barge pole.

The worst bike shop in which I have ever buy something. I ordered the wheelset Hope Hoops Pro 2 with Crest rims two months ago. The price was very reasonable. Delivery to Slovakia was 9,99 GBP but I´ve got some email that the delivery cost is 70 GBP with offer of transfering more money or full refund. I choose full refund and I am battling for refund till now. 2 months left and no refund on my account. Alex from bikeoutlet.co.uk doesn´t reply for my emails. The worst bike shop as I know...looks like fraud.

Placed order 3 weeks ago, cancelled it the same day (i.e. before it was shipped) as realised I ordered the wrong item. Refund promised, nothing happened. A week later contacted them again, promised again. Another week later contacted again and again more promises. Nothing seems to move these guys. Very glad I paid by credit card, as now my credit card supplier is looking into it. I doubt these guys are dishonest. Just hopeless I think - either way, they give the industry a bad name. Irony is I thought it was good to give business to someone other than Wiggle/Chain Reaction.... puts you off supporting the small guys in the future. Really poor customer service - wouldnt risk buying from them again.

Same issue here. I ordered hope hoops and a few other bits and pieces. A week after I ordered I phoned them because I'd gotten no sort of confirmation of order but the money had left my account. I asked if the wheels were actually in stock. They said they were and that they would be shipped early the next week. Almost two weeks later I phoned again to ask where my wheels were. They said they were not in stock and wouldn't be for several weeks. I was moving from my shipping address so I asked them to cancel the order. They said that was fine, and sent me an email saying they would process the refund shortly. More than a month after that communication, and a few gentle phone and email prods later, I still don't have my money. They are not returning my emails and avoiding my phone calls. I will never buy from them again and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

I purchased a Claud Butler Road/Racing Bike on 28th December 2011 - the price was very good. I had a phone call on 4th January 2012 - 6 days after the money was taken from my account, to say that the bike was not in stock, but I could pay more for a more expensive model. I refused and requested a refund. I trusted their word that they would refund my account, however, 3 weeks later, no bike and I am still over £400.00 down. I am disgusted with this poor service. I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

I am getting so frustrated with this shop! They do not reply to emails, the guy who picked up the phone when i rang ended up hanging up on me when i was asking for tracking info.. Absolutely horrible people i think. I live in Birmingham and i will drive up there to have it out with them. I orderd a bike not reading reviews either (oops) I wish i hadnt, i am a fool, lured by their extremely cheap prices. So its been 2 weeks now and they said next day delivery, no reply to my emails (sent 15) rang sevral times only for the same fool to pick up the phone.. I dont know what to do about this. No confirmation email ect. On the day of my order i messaged someone called Alex, he seemed nice and emailed back in minutes saying my bike would be there the next day!!!! WHAT A LOAD OF amatuers. IF I DONT RECIEVE MY BIKE IN THE NEXT WEEK ILL GET A REFUND AND PETROL BOMB THEIR SHOP -

Site to avoid, it asks you extra for shipping, then more communication with you, but you expect nothing. should complain to PayPal to cancel the sale, very unhappy with the limit fraud over there sending your package but not outside the country and return home by magic. black magic

Purchased a 2010 Dawes Discovery 401 from this shop in September 2010. It arrived, part assembled in a Dawes cardboard box that had a disclaimer on the top of the box which said:
"To comply with the safety standards stated on the bicycle, it should not be supplied to the customer part assembled. Failure to supply bicycles fully built with a pre-delivery inspection contravenes the terms set out in Dawes conditions of sale. Any bicycle supplied part assembled does not carry a valid Dawes warranty. Please ensure the user is aware they must read and fully understand the handbook before they make any adjustments or ride the bicycle"
It also had a number of mechanical problems with the wheels and d railleur. When I contacted The Bike Outlet they were of no help. When I contacted Dawes they confirmed that the warranty was void unless the bicycle had the pre-delivery inspection and referred me back to The Bike Outlet.
Eventually I had to take the bike to a local Dawes dealer to have the "pre-delivery inspection" completed at my expense (£25.00) in order to re-validate the warranty.
When I wrote to The Bike Outlet and asked for compensation they refused, and THEN I discovered they had altered the terms & conditions on their website after my letter to them in order to cover their backsides.
BEWARE: this is not a reputable company. Deal with them at your peril.

Do not order a cycle from this company, if its in stock you may get it after a week or so, if you're lucky.I ordered a Claud Butler cycle they took the money immediately then 5 days later when the bike had not arrived and no notification of delivery I phoned them to ask why the cycle had not arrived even before I had time to give them my order number they said that there were some people off sick WHAT??? I asked if it had been dispatched....no answer so I said I wanted to cancel the order, the reply:- just refuse the delivery, will I get my delivery charges back?...should do.
This company is a joke and should be closed down. This is now day 8 and still no sign of the cycle.I dread to think of how long it will take to get my money back, Verdict minus 10 stars

This is a bad custom service shop.I made an order and them ten workdays passed still ship my order.I mailed them many times them just said they will check it.

Orderd a set of Rockshox Argyle 318 forks near the end of July as they were a great price. Paid 10 pound delivery on top which said they would be delivered next day. They did not arrive and as i was going on holiday in the next few days i rang to see where they were, to be told they could not supply them and i would be given a full refund. If i had not rang i dont know if they actually would have rang me. I did get a full refund but it took them 10 tens to credit my card back after taking the money. Good websites have stock control on and therefore they should have shown as out of stock if they could not supply but they didnt!

It has been 10 days since I placed my order. Unfortunately I have not received my bike yet. My boy is keep asking me every day since 'The Bike Outlet' website claimed the bike to be delivered in 1 to 3 days. I will NOT recommend to anyone buying from this online shop.

Ordered a set of disc brakes and this was 16 days back. The only thing i heard from them that i had to pay extra for shipping to Holland. Since then no replys to my mails. The worst thing is i ordered them for a friend.
I wait for 1 day then i am going to contact Paypal to get my money back.
Beware shabby webstore. For the next time i am going back to Chainreationcycles then i have to pay a bit more but the service is great.

Appalling customer service and nonchalant attitude. Happy to take your money but not deliver what you would expect. Gave me a variety of excuses as to why they hadn't delivered it, all of which didn't match up and barely made sense. Awful company to deal with and that is no exageration.

Have since managed to contact them, he said he'd been on holiday for 2 weeks but someone should have got back to me to say it was out of stock. Is still on their website and says in stock. Will await and see if I get a refund.
