Appalling service, left waiting for 30 minutes in car park for someone to check my car before hire, this was after spending 15 minutes booking in to hire the car. I checked it over myself to find both front tyres completely bald, dangerous and illegal. Reluctantly they changed my car. Unfortunately I got a Peugeot whereas I had booked a Nissan. Car was booked and pre-paid with maximum insurance cover, on line. At the airport charges were made which they claimed was a deposit held for fuel, and if the car was returned with a full tank it would be refunded The company charged my credit card and I have now discovered that the “deposit” included a duplicate charge for the hire plus extra insurance which I am trying to recover. During my holiday in Majorca Spain October 2019 I hired a car from GoldCar for a week. There are lot of scared review online. In my opinion their quoted price is almost cheapest, but their staff in the front desk can makeup or push anything they want without following fair commercial practice. So be expect this and you need to be STRONG to insist them to follow your hire agreement. I would like to share my experience about dealing with them. Lowest price available. Will charge you damage that dont exist and will tell you to solve the issue using their website... This is the end of their issues and you will be billed in my case 700 euros on the bill. And 820 on my credit card...their answer to this is to claim you credit card insurance. They advertise cheap prices but as most other reviewers stated, they charge you for all kinds of extras you can't refuse, including refueling, when we filled up the car before getting to the airport. Also, they charged us for a GPS that didn't even work and even though we went back to the airport counter to tell them, they acted like they were giving us another GPS system, which also didn't work. Please do not bother with these guys. This company is the perfect example of the cons of the religion of crazy, greedy capitalism. No, I am not bitter, just learnt a big lesson. Try another company. Cheap and worth every penny- car was filthy on collection, huge queue at the desk outside Murcia Airport to pick up the car, pretty rude and abrupt staff. Goldcar have take over £500 from my credit card after they supplied evidence of damage that I caused to a hire car. The photographic evidence they've supplied is of a totally different hire car than the one that I hired! We’ve been going to Spain ( Malaga) for some twenty + years now and this awful service by the car hire companies sucks. Majority of them now use hard sell tactics to buy the extra insurance at the desk. On our last trip in August I booked my car via cartrawler( Ryanair on line) and knowing previous experiences I took out the extra insurance at roughly £40 ( as it’s usually £200 in Malaga airport) and had all the policy documents and vouchers with me. If you choose to use this company, make sure you purchase their fully comp added on insurance at the time of pre-booking. They will not allow you to use your own and if you do they treat you like you’ve stood in dogs poo! Bad experience. Wish I had read the reviews first. We have annual car hire insurance so didn’t want any additional insurance. However our card kept being “declined” so after queuing several times over a couple of hours and conversations with the bank to try and get the problem sorted we eventually agreed to take the extra insurance. If you ever find yourself in a situation where you need to rent a car - then NEVER at Goldcar Rental. The company takes your money by claiming that you are not sufficiently insured that your credit card is a debit card, even if it is a Visa, requires extra fuel charges that are not refundable, despite the promise of pickup. Started by not being located at the airport as stated! Then 1 hour in line waiting for to get received Then the lady almost called me stupid for not wanting the full coverage, charged me temporarly 1800 or 1900 euros for 1 MONTH, in case anything would happen Then told me that by not wanting full coverage i would have to wait another hour to deliver the car (first time i ever heard this) So never never again i will go to this or interrental company… Read Full Review

The staff were unhelpful from start to finish. A huge waiting time when we arrived. Aggressive when offering to purchase full protection, we refused.
