I Recently Visited The Wheatsheaf And Was Very Imp
I recently visited the Wheatsheaf and was very impressed. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and was definately good value for money.
I choose steak for my main meal and was very impressed, I have never eaten a steak which was so full of flavour.
The best dish of the night was desert, my friends and I shared 3 of the deserts. The presentation was equivalent to that of any top restaurant or hotel.
I will definately be going back again, the summer bbqs sound divine!

My Husband And I Had A Meal On 10 July On A Charit
My husband and I had a meal on 10 July on a charity rat pack night at the wheatsheaf brasserie, where we enjoyed a 3 course meal for £30 which I thought was very reasonably priced considering the quality of the food we were eating.
I found this review very helpful because I'm booked to go to the next Rat Pack night in July 2010

Very nice Meal out with Friends Saturday Night. The Wheatsheaf Brasserie was busy but staff were still very pleasing, and worked hard. Food was excellent and good value - one of the best meals I have had in a long time.

Very limited menu in the Wheatsheaf Brasserie, High Ongar; only 7 mains, 2 of which were fish, and the special was....fish!
Very limited sides; only a Tomato and Onion side-salad (cost cutting!)
Service was appalling. Far too slow. No check back. No drinks offered, nor condiments/sauces
Sat between the toilts and 6" the other side was another table...NICE!
Tables crammed into a very small area. So packed in that you had to turn sideways to walk through the tables!
Very expensive
