I ordered an Olympus 70-300mm lens early Dec 2009 and it turned up before Xmas as promised. It did seem a long wait before anything started moving but from being notified it was on route it only took 3 days from LA to my door in the UK.

Lens is great, well wrapped and I had £25 cash back from Olympus totalling a saving of £120 over the cheapest UK price.

I had recommended this lens and sight to a freiend and he had the order cancelled but he had his money back therefore it appears the problems appeared after Xmas.

Ordered this waterproof housing for my Canon s-90 camera. I was surprised to get a phone call to verify my details on a sunday lunchtime, but all went smoothly and it was delivered as promised. My only real surprise was that it was shipped from the US, although if I'd looked more carefully at their website I'd have found out there. I was able to track the package on the web via UPS, no complaints really. It was cheaper than anywhere else which is why I went for it.

To buck the trend of the negative reviews, here's my experience of Crazy Cameras. 2 weeks ago I ordered a CCD (camera for a telescope) from Crazy Cameras due to the minimum £50 saving for one in the UK. I thought wow, so ordered it in haste, then spend the following hour reading reviews on this site. I though omg what have I done, I've lost my money. My wife went mad when I lost £200 on ebay from a too good to be true videocam 2 years ago. I knew things weren't right with CC by the poor purchasing software, being deemed as logged in even tho I hadn't set up an account and password. I tried to cancel straight away but couldn't. For 5 days I just left it and hoped my CCD would arrive. Come Friday night I decided to send an email to [email protected] stating I either wanted some proof of postage or my money back. I also mentioned I could get them investigated via an agency, not quite 100% correct but it was a possibility, certainly following the BBB.org route. 2 hours later I got a notification from UPS that a parcel had been dispatched. The link turned out to be a genuine one to the UPS tracking system, I tried it many times looking for loopholes but it was genuine. Feeling smug that my email had prompted this I was then very surprised when my email bounced back to me an hour later saying [email protected] was not a valid adress. I was convinced that it was a spoof email to stop complainers, but again the attachment details appeared genuine. My conclusion from this was it had been shipped 5 days after ordering with no prompting. My shipment then travelled from San Francisco to Kentucky over the weekend but then no update for 2+ days. I feared the worst, but by Weds morning it had moved onto Philadelphia, then had been scanned for delivery at East Midlands airport, onto Gloucester then out for delivery to me. I received the camera on the 10th day after ordering, unused and unopened. Turned out that CC's had delivered on all fronts. I don't know what to make of this really and how to rate the sevice. It has been 5 star but I wont order again though due to the negative publicity - even if I have saved £50+. I hope there are many more success stories and its not all doom and gloom for other CC customers. - Spare a thought though, I do support West Ham so its not all fine wines and chocolates.

Ordered Binoculars Dec 21st. on Friday29th, as goods had not arrived I e mailed and asked to cancel. 13 minutes later I recieved E mail saying order cancelled and refund in 5-7 days. Today the 3rd Feb I see the full refund has been made.
They have been fair to me but dont think I will go there again.

I was tempted by the price for an Olympus 70-300mm lens and the fact that the website even offered an instant discount when I was about to leave the site without buying. So I took the plunge and then looked at online reviews. I felt like an idiot and was sure I had thrown my money away. But they dispatched the lens within 7 working days as promised and I got it two days later. So it all turned out well in my case.

First and foremost my iPod touch arrived in perfect condition at a fantastic price. Unfortunately after ordering I read too many negative reviews here that caused me serious concern I'd been scammed.

Despite an extended delivery time (17 days total of which 11 were working days) my goods arrived exactly as described. During the process I managed to contact Crazy Cameras via their online chat and twice by email, all 3 times they were very helpful and courteuos.

I agree the website is not clear about them being US based and they did take payment though the item was not actually in stock, but my experience is that they are far from the scammers many reviewers have made them out to be.

Would I buy from them again? Probably not, which is a real shame as I'm likely to miss some real bargains. Instead I'll pay extra for a UK sourced item and the relative peace of mind gained form using so called "reputable" traders.

In summary, thanks a lot Crazy Cameras and thanks for nothing all you scare mongers who contributed to making this purchase experience so dreadful.

Fortunately I'd not read any of the adverse comments, posted on the web, prior to ordering a Canon camera and underwater housing. I certainly thought it was UK based but quickly realised not when contacted by their customer services, from the States. However, despite being slow to despatch, the goods arrived as advertised and were very good value. They did mislead in suggesting that I could get a "cashback" from Canon but that is only available within the UK. Despite that the whole package was still cheaper than I could find in UK, so overall I am happy with the experience.

Was not aware that the company was sourcing US models and sending to UK. Therefore received the US version of the Canon Ixus 200is (SD powershot 940) with Gb adapter. In all likelihood, i would not have ordered this.

nevertheless, the product is fine, is identical to that sourced in UK apart from the name on the camera and was about £50 cheaper.
I received it within a week (which was reasonable).

Can hardly complain.

Crazy Cameras - order and delivery, can't comment on after sales.

I bought with them, as they seemed legit (their website is professional looking) and I figured paying by credit card there was only minimal risk.
I didn't get an automatic email confirmation with my order, but as it was over new year (I ordered on new years day) I thought I'd give them a bit of time.
On the 10th I still had recieved nothing, either the order or an email, so I sent them an email. I logged into my crazycameras.co.uk account (without any problems at all) and copied the order details into the email. I got an apologetic reply very quickly, stating the order was as the website stated, being processed for shipping. I looked at some forums etc and started to worry a little.
Then the next day, the 11th, I get an email stating it had shipped via DHL and there was a link to the tracking service. It stated it was leaving Los Angeles! This surprised me a little, thought they were from the UK. Anyhows, I get a call on the 13th from a local DHL driver checking the snow/ice conditions on my road and if it's passable! They arrive 10 minutes later!

So they took a nudge, and I'll never know if that made any difference, but I got the product in less than two weeks, at a bargain price. Can't grumble too much now can I!

I bought the Jaybird headphones off the site, then I came across this review site so I rang up "crazycameras" right away, they answered my call immediately and I checked to see if they were in stock ( the site said they were) I was told they were out of stock so the alarm bells rang and I cancelled my order right away. I receivd an email 1 hour later to say the transaction had been cancelled and the money returned to my account, so I have to say even though I didn't get what I was after they dealt with me quickly and politely.And I got my money back with no charges!!

Hmm thought I should add some balance to this, I have used them a few times without issue, I buy Underwater Housings for Canon Cameras, yes they take about 3 weeks to arrive but they arrive, I havent had to contact them so cannot comment on their customer service but I havent had any issues.
Just thought I would offer an alternative point of view as often it is only those that have an issue that post.

I purchased a Canon Powershot SX120 IS camera for £142 (less Canon £30 cashback) on a Wednesday evening and it was delivered promptly two days later on the Friday morning. Jessop advertised it for £197 with a £30 cashback. My only criticism is that Crazy Cameras were advertised as a UK site but it turned out to be an American site so I don't think the warranty applies. Apart from that it was excellent service at a cheap price. I saved £57.

I ordered a Canon 450D camera from Crazy Cameras on 9th December 2010. They contacted me to confirm the order as I had a differant delivery and billing address. I then got worried when I read all the bad reviews on this web site. I then tried to cancel the order but got no response from Crazy Cameras, either by phone or email. I contacted my credit card provider and cancelled my card and reported the transaction as a possible fraudulant deal. When I tried to track the camera's progress on Crazy Cameras web site it's status had not moved from in shipping process. I then bought a camera from Curries, hoping to obtain a refund from my credit card provider. Yesterday 23rd December, Crazy Cameras (via TNT) delivered the Canon 450D to the correct billing address.It was only a week late - and at Christmas time from the US that must be good. I now have to ask Curries for a refund.

I read an awful lot of negative comments only after having ordered a new Nikon P90. It came £40 cheaper then anywhere else in the UK and I was disappointed to find out that the camera was coming from the US. I also thought that having ordered on the 18th it would have been impossible to receive it by Christmas as promised on the website. Finally I was worried about the problems other customers experienced.

However, I did receive the camera today, right on time, excellent conditions; it is the US model but into the box I even found the conversion plug. I am very satisfied.

I ordered a Nikon SB600 flashgun , all previous searches brought me back to CrazyCameras.co.uk because their price at £165.00 was the best out there, while I was in the ordering process I was offered another £5.00 discount making the total price inc postage at £160.00, bargain.I ordered on the 3rd December and it arrived on the 21st, a few nail biting weeks wondering whether it would turn up at all especially after reading other reviews of the site. If Crazy Cameras were up front about delivery times stating up to 3 weeks delivery instead of the quoted 5-7 business days then I wouldn't have panicked. The DHL shipping and tracking info once despatched was superb.I am very pleased with my purchase,price and free delivery but a little disappointed at the delivery time. Mark Stewart

Hi All,

I notice there's a fair few negative reviews of this company so I thought I'd at least give me own experiences.

I placed my order with CrazyCameras on the 14th of December 2009 and the money was almost immediately taken, no confirmation email was sent, leaving me fairly concerned. Then stumbling across this site left me even more concerned!

However, I emailed CrazyCameras asking what was happening, they then forwarded me a link to the DHL website showing me where my order was up to. The order has now arrived (23rd of December) in perfect time for Christmas! A small part of the order was missing but the money for that part was refunded to my account before the important parts (the camera) turned up.

The company does appear to be based in the US and perhaps they could operate a little more transparently but overall my experiences were what I'd expect for the money paid.

If they could give a confirmation email when the booking is made and perhaps give all customers the DHL tracking number as well as only taking money for items once goods are dispatched, it'd help reassure people a lot more!

Just to put peoples mind at rest - My experience of CC is that they were good up front with email's to confirm order and a phone call to say our order would arrive 5 working days later. I started to feel uneasy when I discovered they only had a score of 1.7 on reviewcentre and when I checked reviews. The call centre is always busy (straight to voicemail) and they did respond to my first email - BUT after the 2nd email I could see my order start to be processed and checked it's path through the US to my door step in 2 days (pretty good by any standards), also got emails from CC and DHL to say the order had been shipped so not too bad in the end and only 1 day late just cannot contact them ??
