Poplin is the classic street fabric, and its the base for most Hawes & Curtis shirts. It's smooth, silky, and crisp in texture. They're really comfortable to wear and finish makes them easy to iron. Cotton's quality last long time.

“Really bad customer service ”

Really bad customer service. The person I dealt with who claims to be as high as the CEO of the company has the audacity to justify that me not receiving my correct order is some how the customers fault!!!! Extremely rude and arrogant. No one is willing to help or rectify the the problem. After having a number of difficulties through out the order process and finally when I received the order they got it all wrong, somehow the person I dealt with (e-commerce “manager”) claims that there is nothing they can do and that I need to provide evidence . Absolutely nonsense, I have been left out of pocket and left without any goods either. If you really want to purchase from this brand, your better off going direct to store.

“Terrible Shipping”

I made an order for multiple dress shirts nearly a week ago costing early $300 and now package has arrived in Canada but there now charging me an COD cost and wont send it to me, worst of all is they wont respond to my emails now I may never get my package.

“worst online shop I ever seen. ”

They can not deliver the order for a whole month. I made an order 3 of march, today is 27 of march and I still waiting for my new shirts. The worst online store! If you don't want to have such a bad experience DON'T ORDER.

“Hard to iron, slight fit that isn't slim”

I bought 4 shirts in their deal. These shirts looks terrible even after ironing on high temperature or when damp as suggested. Even getting these dry cleaned with added starch doesn't keep the terrible creases appear after the shortest of wearing. Waste of money. I'm going back asap.

“Do not even consider buying Hawes and Curti"classic"...”

I bought 5 shirts for 100 UKP in August and get annoyed every time I iron them. 4 were classic fot one was weekend button down style. They look ok style and appearance wise if you could ignore the horrendous creases - which with shirts of course you can't. I have ironed them with the hottest temperature and also using spray of water....even if I repeatedly go over a creased it will not go away and the overall material appears to be iron proof!! I have had Tesco George shirts which look better after ironing. I do not know about high collar shirts or any of the other, but I do not see how ANYONE would consider these shirts acceptable. Of course, when I bought them, you unpack everything and then wash them. I didn't keep all the bits of paper plastic and clips etc as the shirts prewahs and iron looked ok. Therefore taking them back seems to be a hiding to nothing according to their returns policy. Anyone successfully returned H and C shirt without packaging after washing? I will try to ring them and see if I get any positive response.

“Owners of this ship take notice”

Went to Kensington High Street branch to buy a shirt or two for my husband. The male assistant never acknowledged us and was on the phone during the whole time we were there and I think he was possibly making a private 'phone call by the way he was acting. A female assistant tried to help us but was obviously not knowledgeable about the shirts for men, she seemed completely out of her depth as she must have been understandably more knowledgeable for the women's side. We gave up and will never go again.

“Terrible quality Shirts impossible to wear after 1 iron”

I have been a Hawes and Curtis customer for years. No More. The quality seems to have collapsed, at least in my case. My experience of trying to resolve this was even worse. Recently I bought more than ten shirts and after 1 iron (in 2 locations) the collars all got permanent white stains on them & the shirts are now unwearable. This is because some (many?) Hawes and Curtis shirts now seem to have non-removable plastic collar inserts in them, that if ironed over will result in permanent, highly visible marks on the collar. Unless you want to look like a homeless clown, this is not helpful. Having taken ten new shirts in to a local Hawes and Curtis shop, the manager refused to exchange any shirts although he thought that the shirts were indeed not fit for purpose. He told me that this was something only for head office and to go away. This was the third time I had tried to resolve this issue and I give up and will buy shirts elsewhere in the future. You get what you pay for, I think. Although in my case, I did not get even that.

“Worst customer service ever”

Dear Sir/Madam, Myself and my Mrs are regular customer of Hawes and curtis and this started far back since 2005 and in 2012 I opened store in some Africa buying large quantity of clothing from Hawes and Curtis.and sometime I do buy directly from Hawes and Curtis for personal use. Recently I ordered a shirt online which I choose the click and collect service to be delivered at Westfield Stratford store,on Tuesday the 2nd of September I was served by a Supervisor.While I was attended to I was turned into Specimen to Trained the new employed assistant even without asking me if am Ok with this, I was at the Till for about 32mins while the ''Training was on'' even when I queried this delay the tone Supervisor used was really unprofessional and rude, without apologizing.I left the store and I felt really really bad as a customer. More so, Today the 6th of September my wife had the most rudest, shocking and unprofessional attitude from the same 'Supervisor in my presence, She will make her complain about this subject matter in due time.I have been in customer service industry for a while and this attitude is not good for business.Everybody is faced with personal issues but bringing it to work and vent anger on your customers is unacceptable by any standard.After my Mrs pointed her frustration to the supervisor and asked for his name and he cant even apologised and we both left the store unsatisfied. This cant carry on like this, I always shop at the Green Lanes store for my bulk others but Stratford is the closet to where I live and now I don't know what to expect when next I am at the Stratford store. Reason for my complaint is for this not to repeat itself to other customers as this will make the store loose out to your competitors at the centre. If I can rate this services I received it will be in Minus(-) Kind Regards, Sam

“Birmingham store - people can not deal with the complain”

Dear Sir/Madam, Yesterday I purchased the shirt from your Birmingham store. Need to say that Salvador was really great sales advisor (really professional) and I was surpassed by the level of knowledge. When i came home I realised that sleeve was too short and today I went to exchange the shirt because it was impossible to wear the shirt with extremely short sleeve. Salvador was off today so another gentleman offered me his help and found me another shirt that was fitting me greatly. I wanted to buy another 3 ties when lady (can not mention the name) told me that she will not do anything because the shirt i bought was on clearance. I tried to explain that when Salvador gave me to try the shirt is was good, but the one that was sold is not good. But (can not mention the name) would not listen to what I said, just telling me that companies policy: no exchange, no refund. I did not ask for refund I just need the shirt that I can wear. But again (can not mention the name) would not listen and could not be bothered to look for solution. I asked her what I should do with the too short shirt and she told me that i could give it to charity. This is not acceptable at all in my opinion. I was really not happy with this solution, because this is not a solution. I asked if it was possible to speak with manager (Debbie) and (can not mention the name) told me that she will be in only on Wednesday. What I want to say, that I had enough. Newer in my life I came across with such unprofessional attitude. Thanks to (can not mention the name) my day was spoiled completely. Your promise: "We believe in complete customer satisfaction" - absolute lie! Therefore, if for any reason you are not entirely satisfied with your purchase, ... etc. - lie, lie, lie. I am not happy at all and not satisfied with my purchase, because the only thing I can do with it, give it to charity, because I can not wear it and can not exchange it. After nearly 5 years of been your customer, I can give you the promise, and I will keep it. Do you think that I will come back to spend a pound in Hawes & Curtis? I am sorry that you have to read it, but i hope that some one will do something about service standards in Birmingham store. Its cost nothing to exchange the shirt that I did not wear. And I was happy to buy another 3 ties matching the shirt but at the end you just lost customer that was not hard to please and make happy. Good luck in the business. And I wish you not to receive silly complains like this.

“Why are these people moaning about hawes and Curtis”

Recently bought four high collar shirts from hawes and Curtis. Had seen them worn by Dr Christian on his tv shows and researched the store. Went to the store at Westfield Stratford and tried on a couple of shirts to find my exact size. Good so far but found a very limited selection in my size, frustrating and a wasted journey. Home to try the website but not good as after choosing the shirts, found it impossible to add to basket and gave up. Rung the Jermyn st flag ship store, told they had them all in store but it's not possible to order direct from them--more frustration!!!! Decided to have a day out up town and went to the store, amazing!!!, every style and size in stock and spoilt for choice, bought four terrific shirts and £100- bargain!!! So pleased that I went across the road and purchased a very expensive pair of amazing shoes from Jones shoe makers-very good day. The shirts are very classy and I've had plenty of comments on them, they also wash and iron beautifully so I can't understand some of the reviews on this site. The reviews appear to come mainly from yanks so is it possible that the gigantic meal portions served in American restaurants may go some way to explaining this phenomena. Perhaps the good old USA May one day sink into the Atlantic To reiterate, great purchase, great quality and will return for more. Highly recommended

I ordered several Hawes & Curtis shirts online for the first time with their Click & Collect service and I was really pleased with the overall experience. I didn’t have to pay shipping costs for this service and the store staff were very accommodating and helpful. The shirts are excellent quality, fit perfectly and were very reasonably priced. I'll definitely be buying from Hawes & Curtis again.

“Birmingham store - worst customer service”

Having read reviews of other customers who also experienced bad customer service from Hawes and Curtis, I am not surprised. The staff are very hostile and unhelpful. you actually regret going to buy shirts there. you practically have to plead with them for them to even attend to you. It leaves a bad taste. A very unpleasant experience that I won't repeat. Avoid.

“Bluewater store shocking ”

No customer service at all. Wanted to buy 8 shirts and ties for a partnership and older male member of staff has a problem with that so took the business elsewhere. The staff do not seem bothered if they actually have customers or not. Avoid them. Will not be going back.

“DON'T GO THERE !!!!”

Order cufflinks from them on 18 Feb 13 - after ringing many times stating that we had not received them after the due date we demanded a call back. They just kept saying it had been passed to their head office and we should keep checking our emails. After a week of checking the emails, still nothing had been received we kept ringing them again. There point blank refused to put us through to 'Head office', I am actually doubting they exist. We finally received the cufflinks a month after we ordered them, after at least 20 - 30 phone calls chasing them. We dount actually want these anymore as the event we wanted them for as passed but we cannot be bothered to return them as it is far too much hassle returning them and we will be spending far too much time chasing our money back. Customer Services at Hawes and Curtis are shocking !! no help, no apology, no way will I ever purchase from them again !!
