“Habitation check”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Carollarge60 on 27/03/2024

Went for habitation check today and dropped off motorhome at 830am.told it would take 4 hrs or there around .came back to collect van at 1 o'clock with no other customers in reception .we asked gentleman on reception if our van was finished to be told have U had a phone call if no go away for two hours when we went outside our van was on for court .we went back after a while and said it was outside on forecourt to be told it may not have been done. He didn't say he would check and let us know .another lady receptionist said she would check and told us it was ready to take away. We were waiting an extra hour for no reason.because he just couldn't be bothered to check for us this I find very rude as we had a long journey ahead of us this was also the same for another gentleman waiting for his van.he had a four hour drive home that evening and to be waiting when our vans were ready is somebody not doing their job. I shall not return to have any more services needed on my van.to pay £300 for a hab check I expect better service. I'm still not sure weather my van was done.bad service from Highbridge.

“Great Sales; Terrible Aftersales…Avoid!!!! ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Aggett on 05/04/2023

I’m afraid to say that the after sales team at ‘TEIGNGRACE’ are a complete ‘DISGRACE’ and urgently need to attend a course on good customer service! After producing all of the necessary paperwork in February for some minor warranty work to be carried out to our caravan, we were given in writing an “indicative timing of the end of March”. We waited patiently for 6 weeks before chasing them only to be told that as this particular van had not been purchased from them (our previous van and my parents current van were) they were not prepared to carry out the work! They also implied that this decision had been based on having “a reduced technical workforce” when we actually know that they’ve never had so many technicians at Teigngrace! They did not answer any of my questions, in particular why it had taken them 6 WEEKS to advise us of this (we would probably still be waiting now had we not chased them) nor a single apology for the inconvenience & financial loss this is now causing us. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID…and we thought we had a good relationship with this company!!!

“Don’t give a damn about customers”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Leroy403 on 23/02/2023

The worst service I have ever received from a retailer. Paid £30000 for my Adria Isonzo caravan brand new and the windows were falling out, the sink leaked and it took them 6 weeks to fix and the heating system broke down and it’s been 8 weeks and they still haven’t been in touch. Don’t buy from these.

“Leaking Tap on a 4 month old caravan”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Tony_Darkes on 25/01/2023

I checked my van over yesterday as we are going away tomorrow for a short break. The shower mixer tap was leaking quite badly from inside itself. I called your after sales who were as much use as a chocolate fire guard. They instantly told me it was frost damage and will not be covered under warranty (without even seeing it). They would however like to sell me a new tap in the region of £100. I was not happy with this so the engineering side of me investigated what could be wrong. Within minutes of looking online many others have experienced a similar problem with many different resolutions. So once I found out how to remove the tap and take it apart I found a poorly seated rubber seal. I seated it as it should have been, this fixed the leak. No new tap or spare parts required. I also found out that if it was frost damage you can replace the internal ceramic cartridge at a cost of approx. £15 (this was never an option offered to me). This made me feel like I was being taken off. I have had better service from a £150 coffee machine manufacturer and would have expected more after spending £24k with Highbridge Caravans. I have found your after sales department absolutely terrible and this has put me off dealing with Highbridge Caravans ever again.

“AFTER SALES APPALING”

★☆☆☆☆

written by GRIGG0007 on 19/04/2022

spent £ 680000 on new wildax europa, took delivery in early march. no cab blinds fitted. called wildax - highbridge had been informed & should have fitted - highbridge denied any knowledge. went to dorset - engine management light on & 'check engine' called rac - emissions problem - cleared code. went to devon - engine light on again - rac called again - same problem. rac gave written report for it to be checked at specialist. booked in at highbridge for blinds to be fitted, engine light to be checked - should have delivered to tourer techs 19/04 by 9.00 as agreed in writing. never turned up. no answer from aftersales dept. by phone after many calls. called sales dept. - answered imediately, sent to tourer techs, but they would not work on it as 'engine light on again ! Also speaker light on from new - no sound. Engineer at highbridge (somerset), suggested i return it ti the devon branch as this was where it was purchased, but they have no workshop facilities ! at present engineer has admited he has no idea what to do ! am waiting for his reply - i expect it may take a while. off next tuesday to dawlish (booked up) worst service i have ever received on any new vehcle purchase, and i have made many dealt previously with other somerset motorhome dealers who have been good KEEP AWAY !

“after care is utterly appalling.”

★☆☆☆☆

written by BrennaPurcell on 08/07/2021

Highbridge caravans in Teigngrace newton Abbot have appaling aftercare. The telephone is never answered and constantly is re-routed to the Somerset branch. The Somerset branch dutifully take details and make promises they will get the Teigngrace team to make contact but they don't. When eventually contact is made by calling them again, the Teigngrace team make further promises they don't keep and eventually after weeks of waiting they inform the customer they were not covered by their warranty (something which could have been found out from the origianal conversation)despite the vehicle not being used for the pandemic period. They are clearly riding high in the middle of a sales explosion of motorhomes but they need to address the aftercare/customer relations if they are to enjoy continuing success. I do not recommend them.

Buying caravan fantastic service. After care terrible, workshop rarely answer emails and do not return calls, 1 small missing parts problem not sorted from October 2020 dispite promises. 2 bigger problems including water staining around sky light on a brand new van,not kept informed on progress as to next step , simple questions not answered . Promised a call back today YET AGAIN NOT EVEN A COURTESY CALL ! FRIENDS WERE SERIOUSLY THINKING OF BUYING FROM YOU THAT IS NOW A LOST SALE, AS IS ANY FUTURE SALE FROM US. We spent almost £30.000.00 not pennies

“Terrible”

★☆☆☆☆

written by karenjbrown on 31/08/2020

Went to Highbridge caravan centre today to purchase a windbreaker I have never felt like a second class citizen before ever. Tried to get information on windbreakers and the staff couldn’t really be bothered to answer the questions I wanted to know but as I needed windbreakers I made up my own mind. I ended up paying £700 odd pounds for Isabella windbreakers and £40 pounds in there shop. Would I go back again not a chance absolutely disgraceful customer service.

“Be warned”

★☆☆☆☆

written by forswaps on 03/07/2020

Spent £35,000 on a brand new caravan, nothing but problems with it and they dont seem to want to resolve the situation. Once they have your money they dont care from that point on. BE WARNED Cant use it, cancelled 2 holidays and paying storage etc for the caravan to just sit there unable to move as windows cracking, IN TOTAL 7 NEW WINDOWS FITTED. Have now appointed a solicitor to deal with it and still being ignored by them. My next point of call is Rouge Traders on the BBC Stay well clear

“Don't go there”

★☆☆☆☆

written by KaiMilne on 22/01/2020

After spending £60k on a new motorhome the sales team were very good, they now have your money!!! The after sales and service side is terrible, the hand over was rubbish, issues arose around an electrical fault and it was kept onsite for 12 weeks as they had no parts, another 2 weeks for a habitation service, checks were not done properly with cup ring stains remaining on worktops afterwards. Very upset and would not recommend. The people are lovely but due to the amount of work and the number of staff the system lets them down badly.

“Buyer beware”

★☆☆☆☆

written by richardrees1 on 17/12/2019

I was sold a Bailey caravan from the Devon branch which was unsafe and leaked badly. The hitch was damaged, fridge gas pipes heavily corroded, fridge wiring had completely corroded away and the roof leaked so much the roof, walls and floor were wet. After just a month of ownership we returned the caravan to be told it was not worth repairing because of the extent of the water damage and that we would be refunded. We were offered nothing for our out of pocket expenses, nothing for items we had bought to go with our new caravan that were not transferable. We were offered no apology. To add insult to injury, the caravan was back up for sale at the same money we had paid just two days later. Clearly the repairs to the wet wall, roof and floor panels could not have been made in that amount of time, suggesting to me they are quite happy to sell a knowingly water damaged caravan to another unsuspecting buyer. Buyer beware.

“Poor Customer Service”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Conrad126 on 22/10/2019

Went to the NEC to consider a new Motorhome requesting a quote on a Chausson. Salesman Wouldn’t listen to the spec I wanted and kept saying you don’t want that and was only interested in me signing that day when I wanted a documented quote first, £62k is a number to be considered overnight to check you have what you want as it’s a long time purchase. but he assured us we would get a written quote when he has time. A week later and still no quote so will never deal with Highbridge as they are only interested to sign a loan for a spec you didn’t want. The price he gave us at the show was just written on a bit of paper. Typical sales man only wants the commission

“Dissapointed ”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Almeida425 on 15/07/2019

We purchased a beautiful caravan, my husband picked it up but when we went to use the caravan last weekend the en-suite sink was badly stained,Trim is coming away from vanity unit and the sealant is moldy it looks awful so I got in touch with them and sent them photographs and asked them if they could change the sink and tidy up the rest as the caravan is under warranty, they have stated that they will fix the trim and sealant but cannot change the sink. I am so disappointing in this and that is why I have only given a 1 star Disappointed customer

“Swift Dealershi”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Veterancaravaner on 10/07/2019

As a Swift Dealership We were astonished to be told when we needed emergency help/ information we did not qualify. WHY?....We didn't purchase our Swift Conquerer 2018 model from there company. So beware visitors to the area if you need help/advice you WILL NOT get any from Highbridge Caravans.

“Poor care”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Denise300 on 27/04/2019

After sales service is appalling. Unreturned calls, repairs booked in but no parts ready, missed deadlines for repairs, poor communication leading to no replacement car being available. Warranty work being charged for incorrectly. The list goes on. If it wasnt for the poor after sales department the review would be better. I would not recommend Highbridge based upon their after care at all.

I purchased my Swift Challenger 530 Caravan in 2010 and have always levelled the van and then put down the corner steadies. Some people say you can use the steadies to level the Caravan would that be possible with this model?
