Schuberth Concept

Have ridden using the flip Shuberth C3 helmet for just over a year now,constant daily use in all weather and up to 15hrs a day.

In early Feb 2012 I was riding along a straight normal road in a built up area with virtually no traffic, apart from a people carrier travelling towards me in the oncoming lane.

As we were about to pass each other and without warning, the people carrier turned directly across my path giving me absolutely no time to react or break. I ploughed into the front nearside of the car, totalling the BMW 1300 I was riding.

I smashed the side of my head on something hard and was completely knocked out and didn't wake up until my helmet was removed,my clothes cut off me and I was placed on a spinal board.I hit my head so hard that my right (cauliflower)ear exploded with the impact inside the helmet. I also had a fat lip and bruised right side of my face. Apart from a broken wrist (and extremely bruised groin area!) I was able to walk away from the accident.

I have no doubt that the C3 helmet saved my life. The visors (sun and clear) were blasted off, but the flip managed to stay down and protect me despite the impact.

The only real fault I found with this lid was that heavy rain would ALWAYS find its way past the upper clear visor seal and run down the inner visor. Also the sun visor slide control became stiff. But apart from that, THANK YOU Schuberth, without you I would not be here!

i have the original schuberth concept flip now 5 years and it has provided great service. the helmet is quiet and brilliant areodynamically as it doesn't move at speed. the sun visor is excellent and couldn't do without it. easy to open and remove external visor. chunky airvents easy to use. antifog coating peeling but easy to scrape off and use alternative product. used my old flip recently, not a shuberth, the noise was shocking.
