Famous Dave's Instant Dark Tanning Mousse

I wanted an inexpensive self-tan product so that I could wear skirts and tights to work. I bruise easily and have rather pale skin on my legs. I got this product, reduced to £2.50, in Superdrug. I followed the instructions by using a mit, exfoliating first etc. The product goes on with a green colour, so the first time I applied it I thought it best only to do my legs.

The application was easy, it dried relatively quickly and the following morning when I showered and dressed my legs had a lovely natural tanned look.

I have since then used it twice more, including arms, chest, neck and face. The fact that I now look healthy is great, and it gives my son a laugh seeing me go to bed with a green face.

It is by far the best product and doesn't go all streaky and patchy after a few days.

I would definately recommend and would definately by again. But I was very lucky that when I went to Superdrug, they had other products in this range reduced to just 10p so I have quite a stash to get through.

I recieved my order literally 3 days from when I ordered it..which was awesome! I've tried a bunch of different self tanners, after finding out I had skin cancer on my face, probably due to using suntan beds for 20 years...and I have to say, so far I LOVE this product! I love the fact after applying it, there's no stickiness! I honestly couldn't tell I had anything on. I've read some reviews that some people smell a slight fragrance, but I think that's balogna! I smelled NOTHING! I just used it this morning for the first time, and so far love the natural color. We will see if it comes off on my clothes or not and how long the color lasts. If it doesn't rub off on my clothes, famous Dave will have a customer for life!

I absolutely LOVE self tan, I've been using it for years and have literally tried everyone on the market today.

I got so excited about Famous Dave's when I saw people raving about it on the internet so I rushed out to buy a bottle from boots for around £28.

Application was lovely.. went on without a problem and the guide colour was a nice deep brown.

Straight away I noticed the dreaded self tan smell.. possibly even stronger than other cheaper brands I have used in the past.

I found this strange as on the website they claim it's scentless?

Anyway I went to bed that night and got up the next day to a deep brown tan all over which I loved! Then bammmm got out of the shower and what I was left with made me pretty angry that I had spent so much on this tanner.

Very slight colour on my arms and chest.. no colour on my legs whats so ever!!

I have tried this tan 3 times now to see if the results are any different and I've been left with the same each time.

Waste of money in my opinion if you are looking for a deep tan on the first application this is not the tanner for you and your better off going to Home Bargains and buying a £3 bottle of St.Moriz!

Read so many good reviews about this product so decided too give it a try, it was very easy too apply and dried very quickly but still gives enough time too blend. The smell was not very strong, i put this on at night before going too bed and woke the next morning too find it had left stains on my bed sheets but these came off easily in the wash. Once i had a shower the overall colour in my opinion was orange not brown at all this maybe because i have fairly pale skin too start with as i get the same effect from st tropez and too date the best tanner in my opinion(for my skin tone) is the fake bake range .

I've used quite a few fake tans over the years and this is by far my favourite. It's really easy to put on (I use a mitt) and with the mousse you get an instant colour which develops further in a few hours with no stinky smell.

I would defo recommend the tanning mousse. I'm quite fair skinned and it gives a really nice natural coulour.

I've just ordered the lotion to try for the first time so i'll let you know what I think of that.

Famous Dave's Dark Tanning Mousse is by far the BEST self tanner I have ever used! It has great water-like consistancy so a little goes far. The truth about the smeel is that when you apply it it smells a little like marzipan, which is not unpleasant, and when it is developing it smells slightly for about an hour, but soon fades. Unlike other tanners, it doesn't transfer onto anything- clothes, bed and the smell doesn't linger for days. You can wash after a few hours as usual and it wont budge; but be warned: they mean it when they say to wash hands for 30 seconds! Some of the product came through my tanning mitt (as its old) and it would not budge from my fingers!

Most importantly, the product gives a completely natural colour, the colour i go in the sun, but you can buld up this colour for an even darker effect.

Customer services were fab also! Favourite product for ages!

Famous Dave's Tanning Mousse must be the best fake tanner I've tried, and I've tried all the high street brands and the more expensive ones inc Fake bake, St Tropez, Xentan. I used the mitt to apply it and it only took me a couple of minutes to tan my entire body, soooo easy! It dries really quickly and isn't sticky at all. The colour is really natural (I tried it for the first time before a night out, and my friends couldn't believe it wasn't a real tan - they're all using it now!) and lasts over a week, and doesn't even fade patchy like ALL other tanners I've tried. The mousse is tinted so you can see if you've applied it evenly, so you really shouldn't have any streaks. I'll never buy anything else again!!

If you're really pale it may be too dark for you, so just read the description before you buy (i.e. if you want a dark tan, dont buy a tanner that will give you a light tan, and if you're fair skinned don't buy a dark tanner!).

I have used every fake tan going, inc fake bake which was a complete waste of money left me with no tan and cost a fortune. Famous daves tan rocks! its the best i have used, easy to put on just make sure you exfoliate and moisterise the day before, i used a tanning mitt, it does have a bit of a fake tan smell, colour is quite dark and natural, would fully recomend, At last a fake tan that is great,

Having not had much experience with fake tanners, I bought this off the back of the testominials and press-cuttings I read on their website, and I have to say it's fantastic!

The colour is very realistic, almost the same colour as I go in the sun. The mousse is absorbed instantly onto the skin, but still leaves you plenty of time to blend. The dark guide colour is great so you can see exactly when you have blended it enough. It doesn't feel sticky at all and you can get dressed after just a few minutes. The guide colour is a little darker than the tan you get after you shower, but looks pretty good so you could easily go out straight away if you wanted to put some on before a night out.

Famous Dave's say there is no scent but that's a bit of a lie, it's fake tan and still smells like fake tan after a couple of hours when it starts to develop. Although not as bad as some I've used previously by far!!

I had a few streaky bits around my hands in the morning, but I think that is more down to my inexperience in fake tanners than the product itself. I need some more practice :)

It just gradually starts to fade after a good few days, doesn't go patchy or flaky like some I have used in the past.

I think I have found an alternative to evil sunbeds!!
