Drag Me To Hell Is Sam Raimi's Return To The Horro
Drag Me to Hell is Sam Raimi's return to the horror genre and well worth the wait whilst he made money on some mediocre Spiderman films (the first was OK the rest...yawn).
I really enjoyed the film. Alison Lohman is perfectly adequate in the role as a loan officer forced to make a tough decision about a creepy and grim looking old woman to further her career. The scenes with the lady's false teeth, filthy and slimy made everyone in the cinema cringe out loud. Full of jumpy yet funny moments that will leave you wanting more.
The only downside was the amount of CGI gore. The scene in the shed for example (you'll know what I mean when you see it) could do with some good old fashioned fake blood and gore. Justin Long (in what looks to be his first film as a bonafide adult) has some good moments but I recommend he cuts his hair to make it as a real leading man. Lorna Raver as Mrs Ganush steals every scene she's in and the gumming incident is real gross out. With twists and turns and even a talking goat you'll enjoy every second of the film and the ending is good and fast making you wonder why Sam ever walked away from horror films. Bring on the next one.
