Charles James Jackson,Ian Pickford, Jackson's Hallmarks: English, Scottish, Irish Silver and Gold Marks from 1300 to the Present Day is a great pocket guide to Hallmarks. It is the most up to date guide that I have been able to find making a must have for all serious collectors and dealers as well as those new to the scene who are interested in silverware. The book is organised by makers and their marks and also includes comments making it very easy to follow and I personally who am new to the scene found it extremely useful.
