“Do not deal with these people”

One failed delivery with a non-existent DHL tracking code, a promise to deliver today before noon, nothing. Try calling them they don't answer. They describe themselves on their facebook page as : 'Speciality food shop in London, United Kingdom' I would add 'That take your money but just never deliver' avoid at all cost, cheaper and far less aggravation to Easyjet to Italy and bring it back yourself!

OMG what did i do by ordering from these people? Just because i do not live in LOndon they can not be bothered to deliver? I have always ordered off theitaliansupermarket and i thought i would try NifeisLife for a change. OMG, it took a week for my order to come, 4 things were missing and it took them another 3 weeks to refund me with no apology or nothing, they are shocking. I ordered the buffalo mozzarella, it tastes the same as the shop stuff and i suspect they repackage it. I ordered some lemons and they are smaller and worse than the supermarket. I wish i read their reviews before i ordered, they are a joke.

“Used to be great, now terrible”

For years, Nifeislife delivered quality food and superb delivery. That all changed this past year. The first order that I placed this year did not arrive on the specified date. I telephoned repeatedly but anytime that the phone was answered, they hung up before I could say anything- many times I could hear them laughing. The order came three days later and I refused it. Within an hour, they called me and I explained I did not want rotten food. They did give me my money back. I decided to give them another chance as they had been great in the past. That order was delivered without any problems. So I ordered last week and the order came on time but they had placed the figs outside of the cooler and they were smashed. The cooler had only two tiny bags of coolant and they were warm so all of the food was hot. The lettuce was black and slimy. I sent pictures and many emails and they have not replied. I wasn't sure if the meats and cheeses were safe to eat as they were not cold. The order was a loss. I won't be ordering from them again as they cannot be bothered to reply to my emails or answer their phone calls.

Everyone has mixed experiences online and I am sorry to read people complain about nifeislife because they have been exceptional with me! I have tried the Easter Pastiera (FRESH AND REAL like in Naples) and also their cheese. Of course the range of biscuits is insane. Try it!

I am very satisfied with the service received so far. The delivery was excellent. I got my orders within the delivery time I booked for and both times I was very happy with the quality of the items I purchased. I use to buy Cime di rapa and other fresh vegetables and they are so fresh. I also buy ham and I love the fact that they slice it fresh. I could not complain for anything. Thank you Nife Is life for delivering straight to my door a piece of my country. I will definitely continue to placing orders as I would recommend anyone to do the same. Happyyyy :-)

“Worse customer service ever”

In the last 5 orders I received a call to be told that one of the items in my order was unavailable. I never been offered a voucher or something that makes me feel they care about their customer I rather got a very arrogant lady saying that its not her fault and she just wanted to let me know. Once I requested to swap the brand of the sparkling water as the one that I ordered was unavailable and they forgot to send it. Thay also had a promo code that they send you a cookie bag and they didn't. I just can't take it any longer..I will support any other italian website that is happy to offer a great customer service.

“paid and not received!”

I ordered around £75 worth of groceries online. Their delivery terms require you to wait at home for nine hours to receive the groceries. They never arrived. I didn't receive any phone call or explanation. I have since phoned them, left messages, emailed and contacted them through their website to ask for a response. It has been four days - and no one has responded! Possible fraud? You would think that at the very least someone would send an email acknowledging the response. I will now contact my credit card agency to report this.

I use Nife is Life for my imported Neapolitan pizza ingredients; San Marzano tomatoes, Fior di Latte and Caputo flour & fresh yeast. Delivery was on time even with a last minute change of delivery address thanks to my own error. I have no complaints so far, I'm buying hard to source items quickly and hassle free. All packaging and shipping quality has been excellent for the fresh produce so I'm more than happy to recommend them to other people - so far so good.

“worst delivery service ever!!”

Deliver arrive wrong day and since nobody was home was left in the rubbish bin with other of our rubbish bags inside!!! Was a total shock. After complain I was told in uk is quite normal but they would redeliver the day I was suppose to receive it in the first place. delivery arrived with a bottle of ferrarelle leaking and a case of panna water missing also marron glace missing. i was reassured to get a refund of the missing item but received only 5.13£ instead of nearly 20£ :( waste of time amd energy sending emails amd calling. very disapponting after having paid 10pound of delivery plus quite pricey italian products. DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

“Very poorly run company”

Second time of using. Stock control is non existent. Stuff I ordered is out of stock and no back order system in place or any advice on delivery note. Charged for item not delivered. Customer service is abrupt and very poor. Most of these items can be bought elsewhere now, so this is what I will be doing in future.

“Bad service”

I had a most disappointing delivery experience therefore my conclusion is that this shop is not worth the effort. I was usually pleased with the products but they are no longer unique (except the caputo flour) or cheaper (gran turchese biscuits 50p more expensive than any italian deli shop) so service should make the difference but unfortunately lets you down. They are not in control of their delivery company. Because of a failure of their website to update my new address my delivery went to my old house. Fair enough i did not read the order confirmation. I called them to see if they could help to redeliver and they gave the impression to be on the case but in reality they were clueless. As there were perishable and most needed goods time was the essence and i would have been happy to pay a surcharge for my fault in not checking. Instead i had two days of no news, a phone call from a courier telling me to arrange my own pick up and a spiteful offer to redeliver rotten goods the following day free of charge but with no time slot whatsoever. So after 10 years of custom it is time to move on to more efficient suppliers. PS their delivery charges are also the highest i have ever had!

“terrible customer service and over a week to deliver”

Ordered a bag of Caputo 00 flour 25kg on a Monday. The delivery was confirmed for the Wednesday, This was required for a party on the Saturday so arriving on the Wed was fine, any issues should leave me enough time to sort out for the sat. Product didn't arrive on the Wednesday so I called them Thursday morning. Spoke to a lady who simply said, ill need to speak to delivery company and will call you back in 15 min's. 3pm still no call, called them back, the lady tried to make out someone else spoke to me and that they had issues communicating with the delivery driver and that she would call then and get back to me in 20 min's! No call.... Called Friday morning to inform then I had a party on the Sat and that this flour was the key ingredient. The lady told me they didn't expect the delivery address to be a "shop" Eh...... Your telling me you questioned the delivery address? Then didn't bother to turn up! The most redic excuse Ive ever heard. Anyway... The same lady told me this issue had been sorted out and that the flour had been sent out that day and I'd receive it that day. I told her I was really concerned it wouldn't due to the previous conversations and no show's I'd had. Again, she told me a call to the delivery people would be made and a call back in 15-20 min's to confirm and reassure. No delivery until the Monday! Had to run around on the Saturday trying to pick up 10 bags of flour. Thanks "Nife is Life" You can only mess people around so much then you'l find 1 day you have no customer left. GL

We are not happy with the service it was providing to our clients. We have now changed the way that we operate and use APC for our deliveries outside of the London area. As stated in my original post it wasn't just the delivery that left a stale taste I'm my mouth it was the lack of care and broken promises that put the nail in the coffin. Had someone from nifeislife took control of this issue and resent the product on the day I called I would have simply put it down to an error that was quickly identified and resolved by a customer focused company. Sadly this was not the case and was left feeling robbed!

“Amazing Fresh products and Real Italian stuff!”

I’ m Italian, I moved to London since a few months and I was struggling looking for REAL Italian food in supermarkets. Few days ago I discovered Nife is life, the images on the website were very mouth-watering so I decided to try it. Fresh products are absolutely amazing, I bought a buffalo mozzarella and a burrata, they were very soft and creamy and they remind me the real taste of Italian food that I was looking for!!! I also had some San Daniele ham and some pickles, everything was so delicious! They also sell all kind of biscuits and sauces that I was used to eat in Italy, so I’m feeling to go to Italy to eat and come back again after dinner!  Prices are more or less the same than those of an Italian supermarket, that surprised me as I expected much more expensive. Delivery on time and good customer service experienced.

“Product not fresh”

This is the 2nd time I've ordered delivery. No problem with delivery & the delivery man was very friendly. However, two bags of Sicilian oranges I ordered looked very old & tired & felt squidgy. In fact one of the oranges was rotten so I had to throw it away and made juice with the rest as I didn't feel like eating old oranges. £3.50 per bag (2 to 3 oranges) for that quality is very expensive. Also, the olive oil (£10.90 for 250ml) expires at the end of July 2014, which I find too little time left for an oil considering it was manufactured in 2012. Afer placing my order, they called to tell me one of the things was out of stock. The lady who I spoke to on the phone went cold when I declined the replacement option I was offered. Just made me wonder if I should've accepted the replacement to get fresh oranges..

As for the oil, I am trying to understand which one you bought so that I can speak to the producer. I think you are referring to the truffled one, we have a new range coming in of new ones but I do see your point. If you give me the order number I can see what to do. Instead of the usual gifts, this year I decided to send a box full of Italian goodies to my father and my Aunt. I opted for nifeislife as I had used this website previously when my son was at university in the UK (I live in Italy). My father and aunt were absolutely thrilled with the gifts and were particularly amazed with quality of the packaging (didn't quite understand their explanation, but the fresh goods were appararently 'encased' in some sort of customised ice packs...). Quality of goods also excellent. Prices of fresh goods are more or less the same as what I would pay in Italy (paid around £21 for 1kg of parmesan cheese matured 24 months). Wine and spirits much more expensive than Italy, but that's probably UK tax. They even called me in Italy to double check my aunt's address before delivery. Excellent service all round. I will definitely continue to use this company.
