“STAY AWAY FERMAN HOTEL”

★☆☆☆☆

written by on 26/02/2014

I planned to spend 9 nights here, but ended up pulling out after only 3, as the property is NOT as depicted on its website. There is no restaurant in the hotel, the teleivsion has only Turkish channels (along with one or two in Italian), and the WiFi is miserable, and browsing is impossible. The Sultan room supposedly has a view of Sultan Ahmet Mosque, but the reality is, what you see is the tips of 2 minarets. Nothing more. Breakfast is so meager as to be pathetic, even for Turkish hotels. When I presented my disappointment to one of the staff, the extraordinarily gauche and rude manager insisted on giving me a lecture in the lobby and went so far as to call me a liar! It is obvious that the man has no idea about customer service, and certainly no idea about how to run a hotel. The owners of the hotel should - in my opinion - replace him with someone who knows something about hotel management. The only good thing about Ferman it's its location but look elsewhere as there are plenty of nice lux hotel in the Sultanahmet Area

“This hotel Ferman is in a great location for...”

This hotel Ferman is in a great location for sightseeing, only 3-4 minutes walk to Topkapi, the Blue Mosque & Aya Sofya or down to the railway station and some ferry terminals.
The tram stop is two minutes from the hotel and will take you to the Bazaar and onwards or down over the Galati Bridge to Kabatsh which is only 5 minutes from the Dolmache Palace. At Kabatsh you can take the Funicuular up to Taxsim Sq. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and the hotel was very new.....
