“As a second Toshiba owner. This unit just plain and...”

As a second Toshiba owner. This unit just plain and simply sucks. The unit crashes every 3 weeks. Toshibas recommendation, reformat. Error texts, non location of Hard drive. If you love migrains, Trashiba is the right product. Model "5100 problems" offers customers that, send your unit one more time for repair, that you just can't find with any other brand. Because after 4 months Toshiba wouldn't take back this great product. I'm using it as a door stopper!!! I know...pretty expensive, but at least it works there!!!

Very insightful opinion on the Toshiba Satellite. So you rated it a 10/10 but say it sucks. I should have taken your advice because i bought one and it too is now a door stopper.

“The RRP of the Toshiba Satellite Laptop is a hefty...”

★★★★★

The RRP of the Toshiba Satellite Laptop is a hefty £2500-2600 but it's a beautiful laptop to use. A real class machine that feels great with the full sized keyboard. Aesthetically stylish, unlike some of the older Toshibas. Features are endless from integrated bluetooth, firewire, to SD card and Smartmedia card slots which really increase the multimedia functionality of the machine. The multimedia performance is fab with Harman Karman speakers and integrated subwoofer delivering a totally authentic stereo sound, unlike most laptops. The 32MB Geoforce 4 graphics card rips through games and delivers excellent DVD. UXGA 15" monitor goes up to a 1600 x 1200 resolution and delivers lovely colour depth and brightness, very sharp indeed. The P4 mobile processor and internal architecture flies through applications and is also very fast use online. Although expensive I feel that I have a future proof machine that will last me 3 years and I upgrade a lot. The only gripe I have is why on earth didn't Toshiba allow extra memory expansion up to 1GB even if 512MB is more than ample now?

Overall a fab laptop, worth the yardage on the outlay, and a genuine desktop replacement unlike other pretenders. Can handle virtually anything thrown at it, even video editing or high-end 3D games. Shop around, I got one by getting a best price in Tottenham Court Road, London, and eventually purchased it for £2280 with a firewire lead thrown in.
