Mango Tree, Belgravia

Very tasty food and good service as well ! Best Thai food in town ! Also the person I dealt with is the best

I went to Mango Tree near Victoria station on a Saturday night. It is a big restaurant and they were fairly busy. Whilst the food was very nice (it is a high end Thai restaurant) the staff seemed so stretched that my husband and i felt practically ignored. When we were finally able to order, we ordered a curry dish and a beef dish - we were assured that the beef would be on the rare side as that was how it was served. When our meal finally arrived, the beef was totally overcooked (boot leather anyone?) and the curry had gone cold. It wasn't really the waitress' fault - when we were eventually able to send it back (a feat in itself - by now we were really hungry!) and complain, we were offered a discount and 2 complimentary glasses of champagne. I think it was down to poor management or under-staffing. The food was delicious when it wasn't left sitting around, and the staff were very polite, there just was not enough of them for the amount of customers in the restaurant it seems.
