Great Read For A Child Of 8 And Above

The story revolves around a young girl who can see fairies and who has been sent away from home to live with her Grandma, as the fairies are causing havoc at home and her Mum can't cope anymore.

When she goes to live at her Grandma's, she gets involved with the fairies that live nearby in the forest, whilst trying to find out why children have been disappearing locally. I won't tell anymore of the story so as not to give anything away!

My daughter read this book and couldn't put it down. She said there was a lot of depth and mystery in the story, and that it leaves you wanting more at the end of the book. She also like the fact that the lead character was a girl. It can be a bit dark, so you would really need to be 8 (or slightly older) and above as some of the fairies can be quite evil. She has since read the other books that have so far been published in this series, and is looking forward to the next in the series.

I also read this book, and found the book engaging, though definitely aimed more at children. It was a bit slow to get started but once the story kicked off, it was one that kept you riveted.

I would recommend this book and the others in the series to keep your child busy reading this Christmas!
