This is the second Miele I have owned, the first being a cylinder type which is 20 years old and still working well. I have always found the Miele Company to be very helpful and obliging. I have used Dysons in other people's homes and have found them very "numb" and poorly made, certainly not built to last like Miele. People have commented that the 7210 is very heavy but I have found this outweighed by the easy manouverabilty. I would certainly recommend this model, my carpets, floors, curtains, suite have never been so fresh and clean. I especially like the floor to carpet switch high on the handle so no bending when transferring from wood floors to rugs.

With 3 cats, 2 teenage sons & a footballing husband, I thought nothing could surpass a Dyson Animal. How wrong I was! Now I've got my Miele I'd NEVER go back to Dyson. The Miele S7210 beats it hands down for suction & ease of cleaning. The onboard tools are straightforward & simple to use & the length of the cable is more than ample. The vacuum & tools are very well designed - no fear of anything breaking or falling off & changing the bag is child's play & clean. No dust flying around anywhere. The only downside is the weight of the machine but, strangely, it's a reassuring weight. Something this solid is built to last.
Highly recommended.

I have 3 cats & 2 footballers so am frequently vacuuming up chunks of dried mud & clumps of cat hair! Used to have a Dyson but the Miele beats it hands down. It's MUCH more efficient at picking up everything & easy to move from carpet to wooden floor to carpet with the flick switch on the handle. The long flex is great (no more unplugging from room to room). Yes, it's rather heavy but I find that quite reassuring - solidly built to last!
Highly recommended.

Always had Dyson vacuum cleaners, and had reservations about going back to a bagged cleaner. But no need because it's so much better than Dyson! It has much better suction, it gets right up into the corners, I can use it on both my rugs, carpet and hard floor! Unlike my old Dyson, I used to have to use the upright for carpets and the cylinder for the hard floor. It's much quieter than the Dyson too, because it has rubber wheels, unlike the Dyson that clatters across the hard floor! The Miele has a much longer cord (9m) unlike the Dyson. I've had it for almost a month and although I use it everyday (kids & choc lab!)Im not going to have to empty the bag for at least another month! And unlike the Dyson, the dirt is not on show to everyone! Highly recommend Miele, we have the lemon yellow one - very retro looking and fab to use. It has different settings for both carpet and hard floor too, and they really make a difference in suction too! The main body of the vacuum swivels for ease of use too! We bought ours from John Lewis, it was cheaper than every where else!!

Bought this vaccum cleaner own 2 dysons but they were just not picking up as well as when they were new (5 years and 2 years old )
This miele 7210 is heavy yes but very well made has the feeling of quality that you used to get from buying volkswagon golf cars when they were the best.
Easy to use although heavy the swivel action body/head is brilliant and makes manoevarability easy. Not a vaccum for a weakling true or a frail 90 year old but most average people should cope no problem. The pick up is second to non.
It has two motors 1 for brush head and one main motor for vaccum but despite this is STILL quiteter than the dyson even at full power. The bags are brilliant and collect all the dust although about £10 for 4 it seems expensive but ours has lasted 3 months already and NOT required changing so maybe 4-8 per year would be sufficient we purchased an optional 10 year perts AND labour warrant for £30 from miele themselves which is great value especially since we got a box of 4 bages (value £10 ) for doing so so warranty cost £20 for years !!.
In summary well made , excellent performance, colour and design really grows on you at home in a domestic setting . Great features including tools and extra llong power cord and long hose for stairs.
BUY this model it's great (which best buy also ) it will do the job inlike cheaper vaccums (false economy if they don't do what they are supposed to) and I would say at least 30% better than the dyson which is of equivelant cost.
BUY IT :)

I found this review very helpful because...we're thinking about replacing our 20 year old Hoover and we like our other Miele products.
