Hi, bought this as a replacement for our old dyson [3 years old and fell apart], on the plus side it cleans much better than any dyson, the moterised brushes are super, the minus points are it is very heavy, and as others have said if you do not return it to the locked upright position it looks like it will fall over,i do not like the silly clip that is made to restrain the flex on the handle as it keeps falling out, so pulls on the flex,i was nervous about having a dust bag as these can prove expensive, but mine seems to go on forever, it is easy to switch off the machine when in use as the rocker switch is on the top of the handle, if like me you are an old wrinkly they are very heavy my wife likes the machine but finds it very heavy to use compared to the old dyson, so she prefers me to do the cleaning, it is possible to have it fall over if you are not carefull, so be aware put it back in the upright position when you stop [locked upright]build quality, good, suction exellent, long flex, fairly easy to use, very quiet, but it is heavy. miele s7210 is good and powerfull.

I already have a Miele cylinder cleaner (because it has a quiet setting, i suffer from tinnitus) and now needed a new upright one for thick pile carpet. I checked the 'which' reviews and decided on the Miele yellow S7210. This cleaner does a great job, as expected from Miele. It has all the settings you need-no superfluous ones just for show-all within easy reach & easy to use, even if you have painful joints like me: brush on/off switch, surface adjustor, and the pipe for the top of the skirting even has a handle, it just clips off the back (no pressing awkward buttons or extending pipes as in Dyson!) making it so much more manouverable, saving you bending down. But the most important thing for me is the gentle start of that quality motor, the BMW of the vacuum world-no rattling plastic or cheap, loud screeching motor noise-almost a pleasure. Almost, because this cleaner is heavyyyyyy, like i need both hands to push it up and down :-/ .....but, i wouldn't change it. It sucks all the cat hairs up and i need the excellent allergen trapping properties it has to try to reduce my husbands sneezing and believe me that's almost as loud as the Dyson!

Had this Miele S7210 since June 1st and must say I have mixed feeings about it.The dust pick up is superb and the swivel action between the main body and the base works well in my opinion, especially along the floor/skirting boards beneath radiators. The styling of the machine is impressive and looks well built and robust. The weight is the main issue, although I can live with it, I do not think it suitable for older people or for people with lots of stairs. At just under 10k it is hard work although on the move it feels ok.The gripe I do have with it is that the first one purchased, after pushing the handle on,(requirement of assembly),it failed to work. The second one has just lost a plastic part and is now to be returned.Even after this experience I still consider it a good product and would still recommend it.

After parting with our dyson, still works fine after four years, we wanted something lighter and easier to use. Research via 'Which' and chose the Miele S7210. We all love the swivel head design and the power. Main difference we immediately noticed was the noise, its so quiet. Only fault i can find are the filter not able to clean the air so you get a 'dusty sock' smell, unlike the Dyson where there was never am after smell. However, would not go back to Dyson!

A quality product - solidly built, and feels it! The first one we got home didn't work at all, but Miele's customer support was highly efficient, and we had a replacement on the doorstep within a week. Obviously you don't want to deal with the customer support department if you can avoid it, but they were so helpful, it was almost a pleasure to have the problem!
The S7210 is a big beastie, and heavy to lug around, but then it is obviously designed for large areas. On-board hose and nozzle stowage means never being without the right attachment, and the ability to switch the beaters on and off gives performance suited to all surfaces. Aesthetically, the bright yellow is a little startling, but it's a nice curvy shape that makes other vacuum cleaners look like a random collection of plastic drinks bottles flying in close formation.
We got ours for a bargain price of £100 from a bankruptcy stock disposal, but I would say that it's worth its list price, especially if it lives up to the usual Miele life expectancy.

Having been through about five different vacuum cleaners in the last four years, I finally cracked and decided to spend a proper amount of money. We bought a Miele washing machine and tumble dryer last year and they have been fantastic - so when saw an upright Miele vacuum I knew I had to buy it, so I bought an S7210.
We needed an upright because we have a lot of carpet to vacuum and doing it with a drag-along is hard work. The variable power setting on the S7210 actually works - at the lower power setting the cleaner is whisper-quiet but stills performs better than any other cleaner we've ever owned. At full power it'll suck your eyeballs out at ten paces!
The carpet brush runs off a separate motor to the vacuum itself, so it can be turned off for use on hard surfaces which reduces noise even further.
I was doubtful about the yellow colour at first, but I've grown to like it.
The bags looked a bit expensive, but we've only just changed one for the first time after over three months of use. If this was a Dyson we'd have had to change about five filters by now.
My only quibble is that it is tricky to get the extension tube out if the cable is still wound.
Overall the S7210 performs like any other Miele product - with quiet efficiency and reliability.
