“Total load of rubbish”

★☆☆☆☆

written by Raggie600 on 07/05/2022

This is simply the worst boiler I have had. Totally disappointed from the word go. I think they are relying on their old reputation but sadly the product is unreliable & expensive to repair along with all the expensive parts. After only 3 years i need an expansive vessel , pressure sensor. It's been depressurised 4 times in 3 years. Leaking pressure very common & error code F75 all requiring call outs. Total cost of repairs so far are £2540 Pathetic

“Guarantee not worth the paper it's written on”

written by Ashlee218 on 04/10/2017

Having lived with a fault on my boiler for some time, with acidic water from a failed condenser trap outlet connection, leaking into a bathroom wall and affecting plasterwork and painting, I'm not a happy bunny. The fault itself is not a big deal and should be easily fixable. However I've been treated apallingly, stood up twice for repair visits, with Vaillant coming up with any excuse possible for making me take time off to be home then not showing or doing the work. They quite clearly do not want to do guarantee repairs especially in inner London, and will find any excuse possible not to. Basically if the Vaillant guarantee is the decider in your boiler hunt go elsewhere.

“Don't buy a Vaillant ecoTEC Pro 24 Condensing Combi...”

written by Sashae349 on 05/12/2015

I purchased my property with a brand new Vaillant ecoTEC Pro 24 Condensing Combi Gas Boiler installed. All went well for the first couple of years. Since then I have spent a fortune repairing it with constant F75 problems. In the end, my gas engineer, who actually rang Vaillant has strongly suggested I purchase a Worcester. Ladies and gentlemen, don't buy Vaillant if you value your hard earned cash!

“Pretty Much Useless”

We have had a Vaillaint eco TEC Pro for seven years. It has been a source of constant frustration, perpetually having F75 pressure problems and requiring urgent and expensive repair. I have reached the point where I am no longer prepared to pour good money after bad and will be replacing it. I will never purchase anything Vaillaint again and suggest you do likewise. The model was unfit for purpose when released on the unsuspecting public and the constant updates / revisions / new replacement parts indicate that Vaillant know it. Buy another brand!

“Error f75 - Would never buy or recommend Vaillant”

written by on 14/01/2013

Bolier from ecotec range a couple years old. Jan 2013 f75 error. Engineer found faulty pressure sensor and seized pump. Replaced both. Jan 2013 f75 error. Contacted Vaillant - they are totally disinterested and insist their boilers are quality. Home come this error is not in their standard manual? How come they themselves distributed a repair kit for this exact problem? Here is the kit description, just Google it: Vaillant Service Kit F75 0020023721. The absolute disgrace of it that they provide a part to resolve a design problem and refuse to help customers that have been hit by the issue. Have you tried their call out rates? Ridiculously high. For a boiler that costs £1200, they want £300+ a visit. So basically you get it repaired three times for the cost of a new boiler = OUTRAGEOUS. Alternative: Bite the bullet and have it replaced with a decent boiler.

“Vaillant ecoTEC pro 24”

written by lumahigh on 08/12/2012

I was very happy with my Potterton boiler that I had had for about 20 years and rarely if ever went wrong. I was advised by Swale Heating that I would save money and this Vaillant boiler would be more energy efficient - well it is that because it keeps breaking down and hence I have no heating or hot water. A total and utter nightmare. I have Had this boiler for 3 months and have had to call out Swale Heating 4 times since then. Each time the fault says F22 and its to do with the water pressure getting too low. this is a major continuous fault Steer well clear of this boiler I can't tell you how much trouble it is. I wish to God I hadn't replaced my very reliable Potterton boiler. Total rubbish and the engineer who came out for the fourth time had the cheek to say that I'll probably have the same water pressure problem for the next six months!!!! No that is not normal. I am going to write to watchdog I am so mad. Feeling very frustrated at the moment.

“A joke ”

Bought a Vailant eco tecc pro about 5 years ago. Within the first few weeks the water sensor pressure valve had to be changed. This same fault occured approx 4 times over 18 months. I was then informed that Vailant had bought out a part modification which basically fitted the same valve higher up in the system and out of trouble so to speak. This has now been fitted not as a matter of course but because I got to hear of the modification and asked to have it fitted. Last winter in the snow my boiler broke down on F72 over and over again. Engineers replaced every part known to man and if I had not had an extremely hard working and able trouble shouter/engineer on hand would have needed me to buy a new boiler. I was without heating for approx 3 while engineers struggled with the appliance. I have no option but to purchace expensive boiler insurance on a yearly basis now. Might this be a ploy by Vailant? Just as well I did as a grinding humming noise has begun to emit from the inside of the boiler tonight well in time for this years snow forcast for next week! Suspect is the diverter valve. Take my advice stay well clear of this boiler unless you want to be on Valium and pay for anger management.

we had an ecotec pro 24 installed on 16/3/11,it is now 22/4/11 and it does not give hot water to the taps, although the central heating seems okay, vaillant dont really want to know saying that the installing engineer is responsible, draw your own conclusions.

My conclusion would be that Vaillant is probably correct, and that the installation is problematic.

have the same problem as yours, no hot water when we turned the taps on. Viaillant charges £260 GBP for a call out plus parts, and when the engineer comes in said the same thing as they told you, the installation is not correct, then switched off my boiler and left. £87 was charged for the man came in and switched off my boiler rather than repair the problem. day time robbery...

Bought the ecoTEC pro 24 for a rented property in the belief that Vaillant would deliver reliability as well as efficiency. Boiler now 18 months old and just broken down for the third time. Vaillant utterly indifferent unless they can send out an engineer at eye watering cost. I located a local Vaillant specialist who was vastly more reasonable but indicated that this model appears to be defective but Vaillant will not help.
Only glimmer of hope may well be its scrap value!
Bought a Worcester Bosch for home 3 years ago, no problems at all with that to date.
Vaillant? never again!

Bought the Vaillant Ecotec Pro 28 a year ago (Sep 2009), and just after the 12 months guarantee expired the boiler did not provide any hot water or heating. The service engineer advised that the sensor had gone and was a common problem with these type of boilers. After a few weeks lost the heating but had hot water, this time a diverter valve had to be replaced by an engineer. The diverter valve was cheap and nasty made from plastic.
I am not happy with this boiler and not sure what else i would have to replace.
I would recommend that Vaillant eco-tec pro 28 is not installed as it only comes with a one year warranty. Better to go for a reliable model that has quality internal parts and +2 years warranty

We had a Vaillant Eco Tec 24 installed. Initially we were very pleased but it broke down just after the 12 month guarantee expired (no hot water or heating)and we had to have a new circuit board. It is now in it's 3rd year and we have again had to call for an engineer for the same problem. I can see why they only give a 12 month guarantee. I would not recommend this boiler.

“I had an Eco TEC Pro 24 boiler fitted in November...”

written by on 19/07/2010

I had an Eco TEC Pro 24 boiler fitted in November 2007, by May 2008 this boiler had leaked 3 different times and completely ruined my kitchen. As it was still under warranty Valliant confirmed that this was a manufacturing fault with the boiler, and agreed to replace the boiler with a new one free of charge. this was fitted in November 2008, and has this month, (July 2010) again started to leak. The plumber has confirmed that it is the exact same problem, where the washers are not working properly and allowing the water to leak. i would never buy a valliant product again as the 2 boilers that i have had from them have failed to last any longer than 18 months, and have proceeded to ruin my kitchen in the process.

Had this boiler since April 2015 so this is only the second winter we have used it for heating purposes. I have a problem understanding how the Salus digital electronic room thermostat that accompanies the boiler works in order to switch off the heating system when the required temperature is reached. E.g. if I set the Salus digital electronic room thermostat to 18 degrees and the room heats up to over 24 degrees the radiators are still blasting out heat - the heating system or boiler never seems to turn off unless I have the set the timer. My old heating system turned off when the required temperature was reached. Also with the old system I could control the radiators by switching them on or off via the walled thermostat - I don't seem to have any such control with the new ecoTEC boiler - the radiators are always too hot to touch , never cooler or off . Should I just control the heating via the on and off switch or leave the biker on 24/7? Any advice would be much appreciated on how to actually work the boiler efficiently thanks in advance.
