“Love BA”

★★★★☆

written by Holmanvh167 on 07/01/2024

Are they flawless, no but having flown with many airlines they outperform the vast majority. They are also polite if there is a problem. Flying from Canada to the UK they are always my 1st choice every time. The night flight is great, arriving after a good sleep and breakfast is the best. The crew are friendly and accommodating, however I am also friendly and accommodating which probably works in my favour. And this is just my thing but I love seeing the Rolls Royce Engines on the wings having worked for Rolls Royce Airspace back in the day! Overall a really good airline!

“Good qualty, some things must be improved”

★★★★☆

written by Paul_8 on 11/12/2014

I was flying LHR-HKG, B777, business class. The backward/forward facing seats made some awkward intimacy situations. IFE was excellent with a large, good quality screen and an extensive library of films and TV. Drinks and service were both very good, British Airways offer a very efficient and professional service although it is not always overtly friendly. BA do need to improve their catering on board in order to compete better with other airlines.

“Overbooked flight”

★★★★☆

written by on 06/10/2014

Four of us flew BA to Bari in Italy on the return flight they had over sold the seats!!! So my husband and I did not get on the plane home. However they booked us on another flight later to Rome and we changed there to fly back to Heathrow sadly our flight from Bari to Rome was late so our luggage did not make the connecting flight. I was most impressed at how well we were looked after and the polite way the staff dealt with us, Our suitcases arrived via a carrier to our home two days later. As they were a day later than they said I called the baggage dept and they were very helpful.I think it is easier to complain than to compliment and I would like to thank BA for still being there and offering such good service certainly compared to those awful budget airlines.

“A Joyride With British Airways”

★★★★☆

written by tomisback on 17/01/2014

Have flown with the airline in the past (LHR-DEL). Found it to be an excellent option for flying long-haul. Services -five-star, facilities-five star and hospitality- four star. Keep it up BA!

“Premium English Carrier need to take care of its...”

★★★★☆

written by Janet20 on 01/01/2014

The airline is good overall! Being a premium carrier, I had a lot of expectation with the airline but somehow ended up getting disappointed. BA used to be a superb airline but recently had a tiff with the airline staff at LHR and the experience wasn't that pleasant. they need to be pretty more courteous to their customers.

“Ba holiday to Dom. Rep”

★★★★☆

written by on 09/11/2013

Just got back from puerto plata, Dominican Republic . Brilliant flight holiday was great apart from the food and the rooms. We managed to change hotel rooms for ones that did'nt overlook the workman sheds and garages! The resort was fantastic every amenity we wanted, breathtaking beach wonderful views. This hotel was supposed to be 5star but rooms were more like 3 star. We would definitely go there again but we would book better rooms.

“shopping spree to madrid british airways flight!!!”

★★★★☆

written by on 11/09/2013

The moment I checked in as always the British airways staff are there greeting us with a smile , the flight is very comfortable and punctual , I never have problem and no delays whatsoever which is needed especially when you are just staying to a city for few days, you need to get there on time and this airline never dis-appoint me! The service is excellent, the food is better than the other airlines , and they are always willing to assist you whenever you needed assistance, the pilots are very cheerful and clear when making announcements and also spoke to the passengers on leaving the plane, just a smile and thank you is much appreciated as you feel that you are a valued customer, well done British airways, keep it up and I will use your airlines every time I travel which is very frequent!!!

“Experience over looks makes BA a good bet”

★★★★☆

written by Inkitpierceitburnit on 09/08/2013

I flew with Virgin Atlantic to The States for a number of years. I chose them initially because they were the first to roll out the new generation of entertainment systems. Having control of your own viewing on a screen mounted on the headrest of the seat in front made a long flight infinitely more bearable. However, a nightmare flight from Chicago on New Years Eve, policed by surly, snarling flight attendants who were obviously struggling with a flight complicated by extremely adverse weather conditions made me rethink and try British Airways. The differences were obvious immediately. The staff were older and less attractive. Their uniforms were obviously not designed by an overrated, camp Frenchman. The trays on which meals were served were cleared within minutes of the passengers finishing. As opposed to the hour plus on every Virgin Atlantic flight that I have taken. A gentle buzz of calm is present on a BA flight. Passenger questions and issues are resolved quickly and without fuss. Virgin staff seem to like confrontation, in my experience. I flew to Manchester from Heathrow a few years back. My heart sank when I saw that extremely poor visibility because of fog was causing serious delays at all airports in The South. However, British Airways had posted staff at Check In to take their passengers out of the queue so that they cleared Security in time to make the flight. The faces of passengers flying with rival airlines was a picture. British Airways staff are always courteous and keen to resolve issues as and when they occur. I would rather have that, than several wittering dolly birds, clad in a uniform that cost more than my weekly wage.

“Helpful and Friendly”

★★★★☆

I fly a lot and, when I went to the states from Kuwait for a wedding, I didn't have one problem with my whole trip. I don't remember if there was anything spectacular about it but, the food was okay and the service was okay because I don't remember having a bad time.

“Unattractive Benefits for blue executive club membership”

★★★★☆

written by on 16/06/2013

I've been flying British Airways to both the UK and US since 2007,and have never flown any other airline ever since. However, I fail to feel the actual difference being a blue member of the executive club, and just being a regular economy traveller. There is no particular benefit that really makes the difference. The product/service is okay, but i believe there's room for improvement. On my most recent flight, I particularly noticed a member of the crew who made a difference. He was so curteous, pleasant and ready to be of assistance - you could see that attending to the passengers needs was genuinely from his heart and he was enjoying it. I think there should be more information on certain benefits for instance I was not aware I could upgrade a reward fight to whatever class of travel of my choice. Considering the airfare paid for BA flights, it will be nice if the luggage allowance was reconsidered. At lease blue members can be given one free checked in bag at 32kg, premium economy can have 2 free checked in bags at 32 while business class can have the usual 3 bags at 32 kg. Some of us like to shop, and the very limited baggage allowance is not attractive at all not to talk of the extra baggage charge. A slight downward review could also be considered I'd love some flexibility to make those of us that have remained loyal to BA feel justified

“Very pleased”

★★★★☆

written by UKHeather on 07/06/2013

Took a short haul flight to Alicante Spain. Easy to book online and print out baggage stuff at the airport. Outbound, Plane left early, crew very pleasant. Good leg room but seats a bit narrow (probably cos my bum is not very narrow though!) Inbound, a few minutes late, crew again pleasant enough. Good value for money and would use again

“Good service from BA”

★★★★☆

written by Pavioj on 29/05/2013

We flew from Gatwick to Thessaloniki in Greece for Easter holidays. The flights were punctual and comfortable. the crew were particularly helpful and friendly - there were lots of children on the flight and they were very patient with them all. We had some great food, more than on the usual short hop as this flight is 3 hours long. A decent continental style breakfast on the way there, lefty of drinks and another snack before landing. The only slight issue was that there were no spoons to eat our yogurts with! On the way back we had a tasty chicken wrap, a gin and tonic and cheese and biscuits. oh and great views of the snow covered peaks of Mount Olympus on the way home! Nice one BA!

“Great value as added extras all included ”

★★★★☆

written by on 29/05/2013

I took a BA flight to Malaga to visit friends and travel around the area. The check in was smooth and the staff were helpful. When I arrived at the desk with my reference it took the lady just a few seconds and she was using my name and knew all my details. She was helpful, answered all my questions and made lots of extra recommendations. The flight was smooth and the service was also great. I would recommend BA to friends.

“could be so much better and it requires so little effort”

★★★★☆

written by jacobjolly on 07/04/2013

my wife and i with our daughter and her family flew business class to mauritius recently for a holiday. Our flight from edinburgh to Gatwick and back was good as were the staff in the lounges-- i required assistance and this was promptly seen to BUT it was tarnished by our experience of the attitude and the demeanour of the crew on the 777 out of Gatwick --they looked so disintrested ,serious and never once smiled in contrast to the crew we came back with who constantly saw to children and adult needs alike and made small chat. BA staff should make every passenger feel important and their flight an experience to enjoy and treasure. SMILE and talk-- it is as simple as that. You are flying the flag for the nation!!Often people remember the bad not the good. With such change BA can be 'THE airline to fly with'. another suggestion , because my wife has a phobia of flying, is perhaps show the training and experience of the captain on video or even in tv ads.

“best airline overall”

★★★★☆

written by on 20/02/2013

I read all the (ridicolous) complaints about BA service. Are you serious guys? Please stay at home if you don't know the basics of travelling! I wonder how people fron USA can complain, while the have terrible airlines in their country.... Overall, BA is the best airline I've flown with, they have problems like any other airline, but they have good airplanes, nice staff, decent food and reasonable prices.

“Very good - but room to improve”

★★★★☆

written by ReggyMac on 24/09/2012

I recently flew with BA to LAX. The flight was great, however the cabin crew were maybe more curt than i would have expected - perhaps because there were some painfully awkward and needy customers in one corner (I'll give them the benefit of the doubt). The food was great for airline food, so winner there! The plane (as you'd expect) was spotless, although you got the sense that it was a little dated. Again perhaps that was just luck of the draw, but BA maybe ought to spend a few quid sprucing up their planes? Overall I was still very happy with the flight - but there's obviously still some room for improvement - a solid 7 or 8 out of 10.

“Better Than Most”

★★★★☆

written by davidsilverstein661 on 21/09/2012

I've flown British Airways quite a bit - and they're ok. not bad. better than most. Nowadays I don't think any of the airlines are that great, but at least I don't have any major complaints with BA. It is pricey though.

contact them by telephone to let them know in advance, so they can accommodate your special requests

Go to their website and then 'Manage my Booking'. Log in by providing your booking reference and passenger name. Click the flight number and go to 'Special Requests'. If 'Special Meal' is not highlighted (and cannot be clicked), it means it is not an option (probably because it is either a light snack or refreshment. Disability assistance should always be highlighted.
