Dont Buy This Machine - Whirlpool Awo/r4205
Dont buy a Whirlpool AWO/R4205. You cant split the drum and the bearing went on our machine after just 15 months and the guarantee ran out after 12. Totally unimpressed. DONT BUY this cheap rubbish.
They say you get what you pay for, and this has taught me a lesson, then some company sold me a bearing which you can't fit because the drum casing is sealed and fixed together with bolts. My impression of Whirlpool has gone down big style after this experience. Never buying anything Whirlpool again. Be Warned.

Beware... Quick Throw Away, Rubbish Design,
Bought that wash mashine 2 years ago.
The cheap model in the shop.
But it had all function I needed...
My brand awareness was rather positive.
I have their dishwasher. It is still ok.
I had their fridge. Not too bad...
So - gave them a chance.
Recently the drum bearing got noisy.
I disassembled it to check the bearing size
(usually the part costs some 2 quid on Ebay P

Throw It Away Design, Why Bother With 'a' Rating
One star awarded for low price when purchased 20 months ago (£219)and another awarded for 20 months trouble free operation. A couple of days ago the inner drum bearing collapsed, I checked on the internet and espares have a great video showing you how to replace the bearing. On this model it is not possible to seperate the two halves of the tub to remove the drum and replace the bearing because they are permanantly bonded together. A replacement tub assembly with new bearings is twice the cost of the original machine. What is the point of an enviromental 'A' energy rating when your forced to dump the machine due to a simple bearing failure. It would be great if we had a central body of engineers that controlled throw away designing and wrestled control back from sales.

Bought The Whirlpool Awo/r 4205 Washing Machine 7m
Bought the Whirlpool AWO/R 4205 washing machine 7months ago in August2009 because I believed that it represented very good value for money. However the very poor durability and Whirlpool Customer Support are unexpected. In March2010 the rubber door gromit came away from the drum cage. Whirlpool arranged a service technician, via their Service sub contractor, F/X, and the machine was repaired 7days after the report. Within 7days the first of the three drum paddles snapped off.The second snapped off the day after. Since the fault report was made on 22March 2010 nothing has happened despite repeated calls to Whirlpool, not even a call back.
The machine is very easy to use, when working, and has a 30minute cycle. This is adequate for most loads. The cycle selection panel, is clear with a fairly good variety of cycles. The durability, Customer Service and support let down Whirlpool and this product.
Helpful, thank you.
