My Luxor tv is so bad, sometimes I'm just watching in and the tv just goes dark, and that is it until the next day... Cheap will always be cheap by sometimes not worth

Cheap, basically does its job, but the rather crude looking operating system can be prone to freezing and unresponsive to remote, especially when setting timers in TV guide, even necessitating switching off at the wall... I am left nervous when setting timers in case it's going to do this. On one occasion I left it frozen for over three hours while I went out to see if it corrected itself, but it was still frozen when I returned. It seems to record repeats of programmes I've previously recorded, watched and deleted, so it is storing this information... not a major problem as you can delete unwanted recordings, unless your hard drive is becoming full. Overall, although this is cheap and functional, and quite easy to use, I would say you might be better off considering something a bit more expensive from a better known brand, as the clunky software can be irritating.

Ibought a luxor tv for the wife problem is ,i have a remote control to turn off the power to the main tv and other equipment in the lounge . the luxor tv is in the bedroom and when the other equipment is turned of the luxor looses all of its programs !heres the strange bit even if you retune it it still dont work ! left over night it works as normal with all of the channels there ,although they are undetectable otherwise ! Now considering the remotes work on different systems thats weird !

There's something I don't know. Will it work, audio-wise, with a soundbar attached to the TV by coax cable? It's called "Digital", but we techno-median-simpletons seem not to grasp that the word covers not only video but audio, and they aren't the same thing! I'll keep you posted as to the results when I receive the cable. By the way, it was a gift, so the price couldn't be better!

Freezes, or won't answer remote. If fast forwarding just continues to end of recording. Now the box is deciding to begin recording halfway through a programme, or not to record at all.

First 32" Luxor tv became faulty after 2 months with channels missing and starting up at 3am on its own! Had it replaced now the 2nd tv has sound problems. Not worth the trouble--returning it and getting a refund--would rather pay a bit extra and have no trouble with a reputable manufacturer.

Purchased from famous high street catalogue store last week. This Luxor TUTV2500 does not do what it says on the box and if you are buying it for the series link option, it does not and will not work unless you have been supplied with a newer box that has not sat on the shelf for a long time.

Had a Luxor TUTV2500 for 22 Months. Was very pleased to start with as easy to use & nice looking unit, then the guide started freezing. Now has fail written on display & can't be fixed. Outside of warranty, so will have to buy a new box. Will not buy this make again. Search on the net shows others with the same problem.

Prone to freezing, at 14 months old and out of warranty it also decided to not talk to the remote control so now have to crawl on the floor to do anything with it. This was a swapout for one that failed straight out the box. Has also been prone to giving erroneous 'no signal' messages. Good when it worked but unreliable. Would not buy this brand again.

Same problems as many of the other comments from unit being a few months old. Bad reception, doesn't record programs, freezing, been on to the helpline many times-their suggestions work for a short period then back to the same old problems. out of 7 programs I tried to record this weekend only 1 actually worked. This was a mixture of timer and manual operation.
I would never recommend !!

I had occasional problems right from the start, but this beacme more frequent after 6 months. Programmes not recording, picture freezing. In the end, after 10 months, I was left with no option other than to wipe all recordings from my library, as I was advised by the help desk that all would be fine if I took this step. I bit the bullet and wiped the whole thing clean, and guess what, after that I couldn't even view a single programme on any channel through the top up box. Help desk said there was no more they could do, but ask my retailer for a new one. That was John Lewis (Retail Gods in my book), who said they would replace it, but they no longer stocked Luxor - hmmm!!, but then said I could either choose another make or have a full refund. Shame it proved unreliable

The Luxor TUTV2500 is a good set, but does occasionally does have issues with the recordings skipping occasionally.

Several months after purchasing Lyxor it went through a period of 'locking' at approximately 11:40 am each day. Also, when recording series it often adds the program a 2nd time resulting in it not recording programs because it thinks I've got too many programs set to record at the same time! Needless to say, going on holidays is impossible if I want to have my programs recorded for my return as it keeps doing this. Not impressed at all!

The Luxor TUTV2500 was a Christmas present 08 so 3 months old. John Lewis no longer stock this make ?? but giving full refund, so I will be looking for another brand.
Had to juggle 2 remotes to get guide page. A lot of picture freezing. Had to resort to trouble shooting page many times when it wouldn't switch on.
Now completely broken.

I paid £70 for my one...would pay any more...easy to use, easy to set up...very handy piece of equipment. Trying to think of anything that is a pain????!!!
Only the response time when looking at the library and selecting recordings..a little slow, other than that, not bad at all. Channel guide has good sized fonts, so you wont go blind trying to see what you want to record....currently still working out some extra features this machine has, but happy with the basics as it fulfills its basic requirements...good bit of gear.

I agree that skipping through items in the library is very slow. What makes it worse, is the darned thing often jumps to a programme well past where you want to go after doing nothing for ages. I suppose I will just have to push the down button the required times to get to the programme I want to view, then go make a cuppa while it sorts itself out.

Just after the warrenty ran out it stopped recording several 'series' that were half way thro', also decided not to record programs set up and when it does record it starts after the program has begun and so often chops off the ending. The timer cannot be changes to allow for late starts. very dissapointed now looking for a decent one.
