There is no real way to convey what its like to experience Kruger Park. Its everything you would expect, and more! The vast plains and winding paths, the sounds of the true wild and the ability to come within feet of the worlds most beautiful yet dangerous animals! This place is the size of Wales and houses hundreds of species including Africa's "Big five"! One of the most memorable occurrences in my life happened here! On our second day we had been very lucky and by 1pm had already come across a pride of lions, several impala and some hyena's. Suddenly upon us was a huge bull elephant. We where so intrigued we drove very close to get a good look. In hindsight this was a bad and potentially fatal idea and please bare this in mind should you go. Within a minute or so of admiring this ginormous beast and taking several photo's, something, maybe a noise from our car, or the fact we where so close annoyed it. Suddenly its ears where flapping and he started to shake his head from left to right. Luckily my Auntie who was driving our car recognised this as a sign of an impending charge and she put her foot down very quickly. As our car speeded away, for about 40 meters the elephant gave chase and was a matter of feet away from flipping us over and probably crushing us. I do not share this story to put anyone off visiting Kruger Park, more just to remind you that you are very much in the wild and the false sense of security your car can give you. All I would say is go, enjoy, stay far enough away from elephants or rhinos that you know you have a big enough head start should they decide to charge! This is certainly a place you will never forget! I haven't!
