Optus are by no means the cheapest. With this in mind, their contracts are so 'lock in' and their customers service is shocking that I wonder why anyone would be with them. Its important to know that many companies such as TPG use their broadbank network (all charge less). This network is probably the slowest in terms of download speeds so choosing Optus is like paying more for the same. The truth is, Telstra have the best download and reliability speeds but charge a hudge access. This is followed by internode and iinet and then the rest.

The service that I have costs $79.95 a month. This covers my telephone and broadband use. The telephone cover includes all local and long distance calls, with the exception of 13, 1300, 1800 numbers and overseas calls. On the calls covered by the set fee there is no time limit. The broadband gives me 4gb a month without extra charge.

I would recomend this service to anyone.
