Dornoch, The Dornoch Hotel

The staff were superb - nothing was too much trouble. Food was, for the price, very good indeed. the hotel looks quite impressive from the road, but on closer inspection, the paintwork looks in desperate need of re-doing! The bedrooms are adequate - tea/coffee making facilities, and even a hairdryer - but no shower with which to wash my hair!!! As the bedroom was only big enough to take a single bed, I felt that the "single person supplement" was unfair and discriminatory. A supplement is normally tagged on to a double room with only one occupant, so come on, Shearings, play the game! I would certainly recommend both the holiday and Shearings (never used them before), but it's a long, long way to go - wish I'd been warned about the length of the journey !
