Buy British I Did

This is my second Vitesse, prefer the look of the saloon over the hatchback, The recaros hold you well but I did find them a bit hard to start with, but once you get used to them they are comfy. The level of spec is high in these models with loads of power, the windows do suffer problems has mine is but an easy fix, a rare car on the roads these days, would recommend to any one, A lot of car for very little money,

I Have Had My 1996 Vitesse Sport For 12 Years Now

I have had my 1996 Vitesse Sport for 12 years now & what a classy beast she is.

The engine is superb & after all these years it will still out run modern cars in its class.

The handling is is excellent. It is like you are on rails & with the mid range engine power at hand it makes driving a real thrill especially on country lanes in the right conditions.

I normally buy a new car every 3 years but after purchasing the Vitesse I have not needed to. It is just too good!!!.

And you can hold your head up high because it is British.

Allot of 800 s suffer from electric window problems which can be simply corrected by re soldering the dry joints in the fuse box. Apart from that providing you look after them they are as reliable as the German cars if not more so from experience.

I've Owned 3 820 Vitesses, Current One W Reg 2000

I've owned 3 820 vitesses, current one W reg 2000 vitesse with the old sport spec (200bhp, suspension spec, 17" alloys etc) and too put it bluntly - for the price I paid £2300 5 years ago - there ain't no better executive sports saloon out there for the money!

Because the Sport can out accelerate and out handle most of them at a fraction of the cost. As for reliability I don't know how this car supposedly got a bad reputation - probably when they graced Japanese engine and gearboxes - not a great fan of Japanese engines - very overrated.

The only problem I've had with this car is a slight issue with the gearbox. T series engine is superb well capable of soldiering on to 200 K

Just Purchased A Rover Vitesse Sport Today, 1999 W

Just purchased a Rover Vitesse Sport today, 1999 with 71000 miles. I was won over by the car as soon as the seller pulled up - went for a drive on the A20 / M25 and it dlew! Amazing car in excellent condidtion with everyting original. Paid £800 for a real nice example. I love it already! Always wanted one and now can easily afford it. No bad points yet - but it has only been one day!

The 800 Was A Dog And The Vitesse Versions Werent

The 800 was a dog and the Vitesse versions werent much better. But with Honda gone Rover turned out this.

It still has many 800 failings, but drive it and all is forgiven. And Rovers T16 engine is utterly amazing.

If you can handle the electric windows being erratic and people laughing at you, the Vitesse sport is a great buy. You can get a good one for 700quid. Thats a lot of very capable car for next to nothing.
