Goog point:Emotional story. Bad point:Last scene is shocking. Basic plot:One old man live alone.He is very Stubborn.He and his family hate each other.One day he helped one asian boy.Then he change his mind. I think this is one of the most emotional film.I have ever seen. I'll never forget last scene. You have to watch this. I recomed you watch you alone. When you watch this film,after that probably you'll recomend this film for another person.

Gran Torino is a brilliant film that drapes its story around the hardnosed cynical character played by Clint Eastwood. As a lone white figure in a predominately Asian community who has recently lost his wife, Eastwood plays it masterfully as he mourns not only his old life but the old ways and his racist comments stand out. He appears to be adrift from the surrounding community but due to increasing gang tensions in the area he gets entangled in the lives of his neighbours.

He never steps away from who he is but instead uncovers layers that seemed to be long gone. The film grabs your attention straight off and holds it for the entirety. The only down point was the very end credits when Clint decides to sing the end song...there was no need to do a Waterman.

A story that looks superficial to start but grows and provokes thought and introspection as it rolls along. A good second take on where political correctness and multiculturalism often causes more problems than solutions. In the end, it's just different and you are left to decide if it's good or bad. It's a solid character study. Accurate commentary on generation gap meets culture gap. The result isn't black and white. It's multi-layered and complex, more like real life than Hollywood's interpretation. Eastwood is sensational as the mourning, disenchanted racist who sees his world changed in every way, none good.

There's drama, humor and poignant takes on modern life seen thru the eyes of an old man, young immigrants and the lost generation of children in this country who mistake thuggery for pride and violence as an acceptable solution to everything.

Gran Torino is a true Clint Eastwood movie. Just wonderful! I loved it! Great acting, dialog, action

This movie is directed by, produced by and stars Clint Eastwood. He is a recent widower living in a rapidly deteriorating working class neighborhood. His neighbors are immigrants from Cambodia and Laos and he has a hard time accepting the change. Right next door is a family with a mother, grandmother and two teenage kids, a boy and a girl. The boy is having trouble with the local gang and is threatened into trying to steal Eastwood's prize 1972 Gran Torino. The attempt fails and the boy's mother forces her son to work for Eastwood. While hesitant at first he soon puts the boy to work cleaning up the neighborhood and along the way a friendship evolves. Eastwood however, knows that the gang will never leave this family alone and comes up with a plan to save his new found friend. This film is full of harsh language, but it is a very good movie. While not for the faint of heart this is a film worth seeing.
