Girls Light Up Scooter
Will never buy from Smyths again. I bought a light up scooter for my 5 year old daughter £34.99 and within 4 months all the bearings on wheels fell off and was dangerous to use. The store manager in Bournemouth would not come to shop floor and instead told the shop assistant to say it was wear and tear. I contacted head office and they where also very rude. I am now taking it up with consumer rights as it's disgusting how they treat customers. Disgraceful. Back to Toys R Us I'm afraid as I've never had a problem with them.
Lucky Dip!
Expecting to be ripped off when purchasing anything from the Disney Frozen Range, I feel they have surpassed there exploitation of the paying customers and their little children.
There are 6 figures, Anna, Elsa, Sven etc. to be collected to complete the set. £2.99 each, which is palatable.
What is not palatable is that you do not know what you are buying.
In effect it is a lucky dip costing £2.99 a go. Something similar to picking a duck out of the water with a number underneath which denotes your prize.
Buy 6 Fash'ems and there is no guarantee that you would not be purchasing 6 of the same figure.
There is no description on the capsule labelling to denote the model.
I feel this is nothing other than sheer exploitation of the customer.
How do we even know that all 6 figures are readily available?
Perhaps one may be in short supply causing us to purchase over and over again figures that we already have in a futile attempt to complete our little ones collection.
Absolutely deplorable.
I have reviewed the product in this vein from Smyths toy store which they acknowledged.
They acknowledged my review but it did not appear on the product page.
The figure can be purchased elsewhere but again the same purchase conditions apply
Customer Service
Faulty
I purchased online an accessory set for my daughters playhouse for her birthday. ( washing machine /cooker etc) The delivery was quick so I was happy. We unpacked the items to find that one part was broken so it could not be assembled. I emailed Smyths and did receive an email straight back apologising and asking me to let them check with their 'buyers' as to if they have the parts to send. A week later I had a response saying they didn't have any spare parts so couldn't help - I would need to contact their suppliers. Absolute joke. I contacted their company who don't know what they are talking about and whose emails make no sense. I have been promised parts to be sent but so far not received. It has now been over a month since I was delivered a box of broken plastic. I wasn't going to bother writing a review but seeing as Smyths continue daily to send me requests for reviews here we are..

Angry And Frustrated
Purchased a Bubble bike online, payment taken immediately, given a WSU number, but when I tried tracking the item, no such number existed. Contacted Smyths on Facebook and received a call immediately. Was told the tracking stated the courier tried to deliver without any success??? Where??? and were to try again the next day. Here I am, sat at home waiting and waiting and waiting. I've now given up and waiting for tomorrow to follow up. Am I expecting any positive outcome? Of course not.Not after reading so many people's complaints. Wish I never purchased as this was to be a little girl's gift and I'm running out of time. Cannot believe such service exists. Is this Smyth's fault or the couriers?? And why can't Smyth change the courier service??? If nothing else works I will be getting in touch with Trading Standards, that's for sure.
