Philips Dvd-q50, This Is A Great Dvd Player For Th

Philips DVD-Q50, this is a great dvd player for the money. It has the faroudja chip which only your very pricey dvd players have had in the past. The picture quality is so much better than most major brand dvd players. I had this one for 3 yrs and the quality was stellar only beat by my Samsung upscaler. Does not have a eject button on the remote. no big deal since you have to get up to take it out anyway.

The unit has progressive scanning feature which makes a fair advantage to other DVD players in the market

This unit generally performs equally better to the DVD players in the market, having the capability of connecting optical and progressive scan makes an added feature to the product. It also fairs with the value for money.

I don't recommend buying the Philips DVD-Q50 DVD player. It worked great for two years but then started freezing/locking up halfway through the movies. Will now try to see if a service call will fix it.

The Philips Dvd-q50 Dvd Player Worked Great For Al

The Philips DVD-Q50 DVD player worked great for almost two years- good picture and acceptable performance. About two months ago it started having difficulty with freezing and stuttering part-way through movies (I have heard this is a layer problem, but it actually persists even after a different disk is inserted or the old one restarted).

Apparently there is no fix for this, and Phillips web-site denies that it is a problem with either the DVD or the Player (which leaves what, operator error? That old fallback...)

phillips has a disc to upgrade the driver in this unit. my dvd player had a stutter problem or just stopped, but after I receied the disc for free from phillips, the problem disappeared. It is a tremendous dvd player.
