I Have Had My Philips Dvd-q40 For Three Years Now
I have had my Philips DVD-Q40 for three years now and believe the Faroudja chip makes the difference. I intended to upgrade it to a more expensive machine but when trialling them found that the Phillips was far superior. Even the retailer told me that I would have to spend double what I paid for it to get a better machine.

The Pictures Are Very Good From This Philips Dvd Q
The pictures are very good from this Philips DVD Q40 dvd player and it steers the surround sound around the room very well.
So initially this seemed to be a giant step up from my old budget player but it has repeatedly frozen and now refuses to work after halfway through any film.
Overall i would rate this as being very poor due to all the reliability issues.
My Philips DVD-Q40 DVD player will not play Region one as well as Region two DVD's, i.e, the speech is inaudible.
