“My first venture into NAD equipment. owned a pioneer...”

★★★★☆

written by on 25/06/2009

My first venture into NAD equipment. owned a pioneer AV amp and listened to lots of av amp especially Yamaha and denon 3805 but NAD t753 perform gloriously. better than NAD t743. wide soundstaging beautiful details but a bit roll off on the high frequencies ( NAD characters). punchiness is good. watching Finding nemo, Incredibles, The gladiator, the sound is clean and uncluttered, you can pinpoint the details.
dont be fooled with the 70w x6 power ratings. this is far more powerful than japanese AV amp.
the preamp is clean but slight hiss. surround speakers go lively with powerful surround enveloping.
for stereo listening, i just connect to NAD C542 and connect to 7.1 analog input which is direct without the going into the av processors.
but later I add NAD 2700thx to power my front speakers (PSB images) and wow it opens up more detail, soundstaging and punchiness. Go for good/ match power cables, speaker cables, power conditioning , interconnects and you will see this av amp performs the best. for people who loves audio and does not concern with the latest format, bell and whistles, functions NAD t753 is the one for you. just be careful not to buy the refurbished ones. mine is still woring perfectly after 4 years of using it.. If i wanna upgrade I maybe upgrading to the NAD Master series if I have the budget of course!
using velodyne CHT12R and this subwoofer really match with the NAD performance.
For AV amp i consider this as a very capable sonically av amp.
but of course the ultimate is still separates systems.
