Had my 1996 Spec II GTS-T for a month now. Don't know why it's taken this long to get one. The body kit and Wheels give it absolutely amazing looks. Haven't given it a true test yet as it scared the hell out of me on the test drive. Got the car really cheap knowing it needed 4 new tyres and a cambelt service. The service and cambelt were surprisingly cheap. The fuel consumption is nowhere near as bad as i expected. An absolute peach to drive with a wonderful exhaust note. Has that real robust feeling that only Jap cars have. If you're comtemplating a Skyline, don't, just buy one!

I have had the pleasure of owning a number of cars, and decided to buy and sell sports cars. I after several years came across a R33 skyline gts, and I have never looked back since. I now own a limited edition Tommy Kaira R33 GTR and with the sensible modifications it's running not many cars on the road today can give this beast a run for it's money. You have to know about your cars to know what your looking at when you see one, many people driving high performance cars underestimate the skyline at their peril. Depending on the depth of the pockets of the driver, you could find yourself sitting next to a skyline at the lights with anywhere from 250 to 750 horses under the bonnet, and the best thing is you will never know until you see those ever glowing four red tail lights disappearing into the distance. For it's age the R33 still has a presence where ever it goes and the glances from other road users and those on foot will never diminish. Fueling the beast let's face it was always going to be a concern, but when you have a pet dragon you don't complain about how thirsty it is you just enjoy when it spits flames. The car drinks like an alcoholic but if one can keep of the boost, mpg improves significantly. Insurance can be a problem (Group 20) but this car can be deadly in the wrong hands. Overall a fantastic buy. 10/10

Recently picked up a 95 GTR V-Spec. Great pickup and torque. The GTR feels nice and planted on the road. Very roomy for a sports car, seats four adults comfortably.

Had my R33 GTS-t for about 18 months. What a fantastic machine. Some very nice mods by the lads at Rising Sun see about 315BHP.
At the time I was looking for a Mitsy EVO but couldnt find one I liked.
While driving home from looking at another sad Mitsy a Skyline came past me on the motorway like I was standing still (although I was doing nearly 90).That was the moment. I had to have one.
Mine looks fantastic, sounds even better and goes like a scolded rabbit. This car and I are going to have a very long relationship.
If you've never had one, definately buy one.

The Nissan Skyline GT R R33 has awesome performance and reliability. Sporty yet practical as a sporty coupe vehicle. Nissan out did themselves with the Skyline Line since 1969! Nissan has outdone themselves with the Skyline line since its introduction in 1969! Awesome torque matched by horsepower. Great cornering and all-wheel drive, what else could one want?10+

The Nissan Skyline is an amzing car with mean looks and good performace and with so many drift comp and drag races one in these, it has nothin to prove..the R34 is a touch of pure brillance bt the R35 is losing its good lines and skyline look!

Nissan Skyline GT R R33 is the best car I've ever owned (had 14 cars since 1986)

Overall, the Nissan Skyline is a beautiful car, a lot easier (and cheaper) to extract extra power from the power plant than say a push-rod V8. A good handler. A lot of other so-called performance cars out there are cars originally designed as passenger cars and then turned into race cars by adding various components. Nissan designed the Skyline for one reason - to win races, it was designed as a race car and then detuned so that kids don't go killing themselves (even though they still do) and so that it can be registered for road use. So you work it out. I paid $35K AUS for my V-spec in 2004 and since I've thrown approx $25K AUS into it. It now pumps out 384rwkw on my custom brew of 75% 98ron unleaded and 25% Toluene (Don't ask me where I get the stuff from!). She loves her octane..... Anyways, Skylines rock....long live the stove top tail lights.

Speed, Power, Stability & Reliability. The Nissan Skyline GTR R33 engine is virtually bomb proof with proper caring. HICAS is the new miracle for Cars.
If you're conscious about fuel and environment, then buy a Hybrid or Smart Car; but are you going to let the Fuel hog countries have all the fun? Some insight: I use mine as a daily driver to work... in the UK!
My First Car was an 87 Ford V8, since then I've always wanted the power. When I had this ride, it feels like driving a Ferrari with the elegance of the Jaguar... well at least get used to everyone looking and takes pictures of you, and be sure to get used to questions like, "is that a SKYLINE mate?", or how fast have you gone with this thing?". I would only compare this car to an Aston Martin... I would take one on anytime. I do not advocate speeding, but I have experienced flooring it to 160ish with STOCK engine. Some modded ones reach 1200Bhp. Power you can only get from Jet engines, but the Japanese manage to squeeze this out from a 2.5L straight six... now that is another miracle!

I have had a Nissan Skyline GTST R33 Sports Car for about 2 years now, when you drive it for the first time the first thing you notice is that it drives heavier then a normal car, handles very good eg you feel like you can go 2 times the normal speed and feel safe. Performance - the car is a 2.5 turbo, off boost it drives really well, you can give it even if the car is in the wrong gear it will still go hard, the boost starts at 3500rpm it goes pretty hard to 5000rpm then after 5000rpm it boosts much harder and feels mad up to 9000rpm red line. Anyway in short it drives as good as it looks.

This Nissan Skyline GT R R33 sports car is seriously timeless, it's shape, aggressive looks will still look fresh in another 10 years. The build quality is superb as long as you treat the car properly - if you stick to the service intervals & use good quality oil etc - you will never have a problem. The bodywork again is superb (I live in the rainy UK & my 97 model has no rust of any sort).
I have the 1997 R33 GTR which now has 33000 miles on the clock & now has 550 BHP.
Every sports car driver knows what a skyline can do & not many will take you on - the ones that do (mainly Imprezza or Evo drivers) - wish they didnt as it's so easy to make them look very very silly!! - Iconic yes, beautiful yes, fragile - no (unless you try & skimp servicing) - make sure you keep some cash back for tyres etc & dont sell it keep it!! - It will be a sure classic in another 3 - 4 years time! - THANKS NISSAN
Where else can you buy a ferrari, porsche or evo eater for £15000!

Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T 1997 sports car, Great drive, Tons of power, fantastic through the corners (Hicas).
Gives Boxster S a good thrashing. Mines a high milage example but you wouldn't think so driving it. Stage one mods at moment runnning around 265BHP, 0-60 in 5.7sec, standing quarter [email protected].

Obviously it's only got good low down torque because I gave one a spanking last week in an unmodified Fiat Coupe 20v Turbo with "only" 220bhp and front wheel drive. You guys who buy these cars should take some track day lessons in how to actually drive them. Any monkey can put their foot down in a straight line.

The Skyline name its the equal of speed and power. The four rear lights in the shape of a circle have been the distinctive of this model for almost 20 years. And the small GT-r in chrome and red in the front of the hood make this car look impressive.
This car is just great. Standard is a great car and modified its better. I have modified the exahust and the air intake system and i recently bought a turbo blowoff (its great!!!!, the fuussshhhh sound.... its just like a rocket taking off!!!) for it. The major problem is that Nismo parts for this car are really expensive.
I you want to expend like 700 american dollars per moth for this car, then this is your choice. Tires are 17", it uses the maximun unleaded fuel and it gives like 20 km per gallon (4 liters) running at 200 km/h.
By now im working for the maintance of this car. Sounds ugly, but it spends more than a careless girlfriend.

Well Said! Perfectly stated in a very Japanese way! As stated; mods make the difference! Yes, sports cars are expensive, but can your girlfriend pick you up in her arms and do a 130mph+?
Is it worth all the money, time, and grief for just a few moments of pure ecstasy? OH, YES!

I don't know where to start....I love this car it is amazing. This isn't as good as the r34 but still it has everything...especially power.

The Nissan Skyline R33 GTST is an excellent car. Everything is in the right place. It is very powerful and a real pleasure to drive. My Skyline has done only 47,000 km and the car looks and drives like new. Before, I had a 180sx (2.0l turbo) and to be honest you can't compare those two cars. The Skyline is much, much better, in every way. This is the best car that can be bought with performances like this and all extras for price between AUS$15,000 - AUS$25,000.

Hi, i'm looking at buying a skyline R33 or R34 (not sure yet) & i had a few questions.
first, is there a huge difference in power between an automatic and a manual (i don't like manuals!)? How much is one of these R33/R34's (AUS)? i'm 22, so what is the best insurance company for me to go with? Thanx, Den.

Know what ya saying Bro. If an when us GTS-t owners are cruising out on a daily tour it seems that everyone wants to take us on. But realistically they only realy want us to give them a show of what our beasts are made of, and what they sound like, cause as us car doods know theres realy nothing better sounding than a gt skyline accelarating through the gears.. and ive had Chevs and all sorts of V8s but the Nissan gives me a thrill every time i get time to take it out.
