Watchmen

I wouldne't even rent it if you haven't seen this movie this movie is amazing. I would reccomend it to a frind deffently and the genre l republic. Spoliers i loved that the comedoam is jusptars father and the best qrote from Rorcaahck os your stiking here with me. It way better then any action fil ia haver see. I hope they make a sequl to this in mu opinion

I watched this movie yesterday. I had been waiting to watch it for ages, and was really looking forward to it after hearing such great reviews. I do really like superhero movies, and pressed play on the DVD player with an open mind.

The film struck me as quite a dark movie - but then again, it's meant to be just that. There is however lots of talking, and the plot dragged a little for me. The action scenes when they did come about were pretty good.

The story is long. I did like the fact that the movie took its time to identify each character and you felt really attached to each person, on an emotional level.

As I write this review, I'm now thinking it's probably one of those "watch again" type of movies. The question is... can I put myself through the 2.5hrs again?

Watchmen is an awesome film, I had not actually read the original comic until a few months before the film came out and was impressed by it (I have read other stories by Allen Moore and liked them). The film was a fair to good rendering of the comic, not scene for scene like Sin City but good non-the-less.

The acting was good, the effects were excellent and the story (as is usualy for Allen moore) was different, not the usual run of the mill superhero stuff. The characters felt more like real people with real issues, I usually judge films by whether I feel bored before the end but frankly despite the length of this one, when the end titles rolled I hardly felt as if I had been in the cinema for that long.

The best character was by far Rorschach, and the actor playing him did an excellent job. I will certainly be buying the extended DVD when it comes out.

As an avid Alan Moore fan who ' s read all of his greats, such as From Hell and V for Vendetta and seen their average at best transitions from comic to screen, i was a little dubious as to how good Watchmen would actually be. I was more than happily surprised by Zach Snyder ' s (famous for other comic epics 300 and Sin City) realisation as it stays pretty true to the style of the infamous comic, albeit with a few cinematic changes and the odd story point glossed over, but it really does pack a punch with its over the top violence and gritty characters. Based in an alternate post war 1940s to 1980s, where vigilante heroes have risen and fallen with dramatic fashion and a retired group of heroes called the Watchmen are being slowly picked off, murdered and defamed with dramatic consequences for the entire planet. It ' s grand stuff but almost perfectly cast with relative unknowns and Hollywood hangers on, it avoids any of the glitz that normally goes with big blockbuster releases and lets you get under the skin of some of the story ' s ailing superheroes.

Watchmen is brilliant stuff and despite being long and grotesque at times, it is well worth a watch and ' should ' appeal to all Alan Moore (if not the man himself) and comic book fans alike.

Watchmen was Slow, Slow, Slow, with plotless sex and nudity but the visual effects & filming was great.

three hours for a 90 min plot..

Watchmen just felt far too forced for a movie that was almost 3 hours long. The dialogue was draining and the visual affects, though at many points were very cool, was about the only redeeming quality for the film and they weren't THAT good...

Watchmen - I've never read the book, although I have it at home... I was still expecting this movie to be good, despite the reviews, but I wasn't expecting it to be this great!!!A coworker of mine gave it such a negative review... then again, he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. lolI couldn't get enough of this movie. I was just in amazement of how well done this movie is. The fight scenes was just eye candy, but the overall story and aspect of it was what caught me. Funny how professional critics gave this as high as an A to as low as a D on Yahoo.It's not for everyone... but if you're one of those who have an open mind and have somewhat above average intellect, then this is for you!

For a dorky looking superhero movie, this became one of my favorite movies. I didn't even want to see this movie, but it somehow caught my inspiration by turning into some deep economical, philisophical, and intelectual film.

I loved the movie and all that it represented. Mostly metephorically, but the graphics and physical presentation were also amazing.

Brilliant adaptation of the original graphic Watchmen novel/comic book. The dedication to the original material really showed, and it was a pleasure to see the backstory and history intact rather retold for the generic audience as was done with Spider-Man, etc.This is not a 'super hero' movie, and it's plot may be lost of viewers only going to see another flashy action-film with comic-book characters, i.e. X-Men, Iron Man, etc.

There was way too much hype about Watchmen. I am not a fan of comics, but i enjoy most of the movies based on comic books. I feel like I wasted almost three hours my life watching this movie. The movie tralier got me really excited to see this movie and it is one of the biggest movie flops ever in my mind. The best part of my time at the theatre was watching the trailer to Terminator Salvation. The movie took way too long. Rorschach was a cool character and the effects were pretty good.
