DO NOT buy this fridge/freezer. We have decided after 6 years to ditch!! First sign of problem was before the 2 year warranty period was up, fortunately, and Bosch sent a technician to sort out. But since we have been out of the warranty period, the problems have persisted: the defrost unit regularly stops working causing the fridge fan to sieze.

I have owned this fridge/freezer for 5 years and have found that it needs to be defrosted every 4 to 6 months. It is described as frost-free but clearly isn't. The fridge is cooled by a fan that circulates cold air from the freezer cooling unit. The freezer cooling unit ices up regularly and the ice starts blocking the fan. This results in a loud noise as the fan hits the ice and, if left, the fan gets completely blocked by the ice and stops turning (and the fridge then gets warm as no cool air is being circulated).
You get very little warning that this problem is about to arise (once the fan noises start, you have about 3 days before the fridge stops working). This has resulted in me having to throw away a lot of food on numerous occasions. This product is poorly designed and unfit for purpose.

Absolutely unreliable heap of rubbish. Has wrecked hundreds of pounds worth of food several times. Avoid avoid avoid. Simple.

Have had the Bosch Classix fridge freezer for a while and yes, I agree with other reviews: it's too loud, it freezes up all the time in no time at all, drawers are difficult to use in the freezer AND ours also gather water at the bottom of the fridge constantly, then it freezes up. Rubbish.

have this fridge freezer 2 months and already have had to defrost it but thats just the tip of the iceberg ( forming in the freezer dept) 1. temperature too warm in fridge or too cold in freezer no balance 2. chemical smells every so often 3. drawers sticky 4. doors need to be checked as sometimes they dont close tightly getting too aggrivated now, just dont buy one

We've had one for less than 4 years and the freezer department freezes up (supposed to be frost free) and the fridge warms up - have defrosted three times but still no good. Bosch want £89 just to come and look at it plus parts so for what is likely to be more than £100 we'll probably get a cheaper competitors (Beko seem to be OK for the money). PS - heard through the grapevine that because its Bosch it's not necessarily made in Germany or that the parts are German - can't tell where it's made from the metal plate the back.

Terrible.
Same issues with the fan making an annoying noise - replaced by Bosch, then the freezer would only maintain -5 degrees.
Draws stick - then when you get them to open they unstick so quickly that they fall on the ground breaking and spilling contents.
Absolute rubbish. I will AVOID BOSCH from now on!

I bought one of these bosch classixx fridge/freezers in Dec 2007 within two weeks it was very noisy an engineer came and replaced the motor. The fridge has no temperature gauge and now in Aug 2009 is not working. The freezer is too small, the drawers are difficult to pull out,all in all badly constructed and of poor quality, not what you would expect from Bosch but then i had a Bosch washing machine and that only lasted 3 years! Don,t buy it,s absolute rubbish.

When I first bought this fridge, the fan was noisy and after 18 months the fridge stopped working. The frost-free tag on the front is a myth and when I called Bosch, an engineer came out (for free) to put right what he told me was a known design fault with the defrost control unit and replaced the fan. After leaving, the fridge still did not work and the engineer came out again the same week to fix it.
About 12 months later the same problem has resurfaced. The fridge is cooled by air circulated up from the freezer. This stops when ice builds up and prevents the cold air getting to the fridge. Bosch have said it will be £85 plus parts to fix what is clearly a poorly designed appliance.
DON'T buy a Bosch fridge freezer, they are awful.

Hello.. We are in west Sussex in southern England, UK. I have a Bosch KGN33V00GB F/F, ( fridge at the top / smaller freezer at the bottom ), for nearly 18 months... as soon as I turned it on back then, it made a terrible noise... could hear it all over the house and so I had the motor changed, ( this is in the top of the freezer compartment and looked like a white small unit / fan / all in one set of controls ), but now we heard some terrible gurgling coming from it over the weekend and then the next morning the top fridge section has fully stopped working while the freezer compartment is sort of ticking over... not quite enough to actually make ice... the light is on in the top fridge section and the green lights are showing what temp can be set, ( at the top of the fridge door inside the actual fridge ). Any ideas what could have caused this to happen? The F/F is set into an alcove with a minimum air space of 25mm of space either side of the fridge but it does not have any further doors plus there is a large gap at the top of the F/F for more circulation. We had our old F/F there for nigh on 15 years with no problems... and when we got the new one... the old one was still working!!

Bought one of these fridge/freezers about 18 months ago. The first one from Comet was broken upon delivery and full refund given by Comet. I should have stopped there but ordered another from Coop Electrical which did work.
The fan in the fridge is noisy, which doesn't bother us because it is a utility room but don't put it in your kitchen. The biggest problem is that although advertised as a frost free freezer this isn't true. It needs regular defrosting if you want to keep the freezer door properly shut (ice builds up and pushes out the drawers). Defrosting isn't easy because of the size of the thing.
Recommendation - I thought Bosch meant quality - sadly I was mistaken. Don't buy.
