Poor Customer Service, Rude Owner
This is not a proper educational farm. The animals are shoved together in a single barn. The animals are obviously the focus.
There is a large slide and soft play. However, babies are playing in the older children's playframe and they are getting shouted by the owner because the babies are getting harmed.
The babies and under 5's have their own area that the older children are not allowed in??
So what you have is older children, especially 9 and 10 years boys being constantly abused by staff. Common sense states to have the large play frame for over 5 year olds. This is how it is done in top class softplay in Manchester and London.
The owner obviously does not like people from the South as very rude.
Do not go!!

We Took My Two Younger Cousins Aged 10 And 1. We D
We took my two younger cousins aged 10 and 1. We did think it was silly having to pay the same price for both as the one year old couldn't do much. It was very busy, we struggled getting a table, most people put bags down and walked away. There are signs everywhere saying you could only eat food bought in the cafe but everyone pretty much had picnics. We ate in the cafe, the food was lovely, reasonably but the staff were rushing about madly! The outside in the paddock we saw chicks hatch, that was amazing but the care of the animals seemed poor, particularly the horse and donkeys. They are all caged in small spaces, i heard lots of people comment on this! The indoor play area was the best part, all the children loved it. That would be the only reason i would visit again. You couldnt spend a full day there but several hours.
As a regular at Walby (I go with my 2 year old twins at least twice a week!!) I feel I have to disagree with you about the care of the animals at Walby! The horses and donkeys are given things to do while in their pen during the day like balls to play with and as the afternoon progresses the staff take them out into the field to play and run around. The other animals are also moved about on a regular basis! The staff obviously care about the welfare of them and the pens and whole barn are cleaned out on a regular basis throughout the day!! My husband is a vet and enjoys going to Walby as much as we do and has never expressed any concerns over this!
We love going to Walby and agree the play barn is brilliant!!! The food is fab too (especially the chicken pie!!) and the staff in the cafe are always willing to help out getting food to your table when your hands are full with the children!!

Walby Farm Park Is A Great Place For All The Famil
Walby Farm Park is a great place for all the family, I have a nearly teenager and a 6 year old. We had struggled to find a place that suited them both where they wouldn't come to us and say that they were bored but at Walby Farm Park they cater for every age.
We were really pleased with the cleanliness. Also we thought all of the staff were really friendly, attentive and all knew what they were doing.
It is great value for money, we all had a great time and all of us enjoyed it.

Our Grandchildren Had A Great Time On All The Slid
Our grandchildren had a great time on all the slides, as well as the go-carts and tractors. Driving the Land Rovers was very easy and they were soon in control. The animals are a great attraction and it was good to see some real farm animals on display.
The food in the cafe was superb and the value at Cumbria Walby farm park was good compared to other places we have visited.

The soft play is humungous!!! Sometimes Cumbria Walby Farm Park can be a bit busy (shows how good it is) and that when we went we got one cheese burger free (by accident). I loved it, there is so much to do whether it's rain or sun!

Cumbria Walby Farm Park Has Plenty To Do For A Goo
Cumbria Walby Farm Park has plenty to do for a good few hours, An excellent indoor play area which was monitored by at least 3 members of staff at all times (two fingers up to parents who let their kids kick the crap out of smaller ones and turn a blind eye, yes theres always one wherever you go) good golf kart trailer pulling thingy which my kids loved, there wasnt loads of animals but younger ones would enjoy seeing them. theres also go karts ,outdoor play, trampolines, food facilities, picnic areas and a shop. A good day out for the kids

A Very Expensive Soft Play Where Adults Have To Pa
A very expensive soft play where adults have to pay!!!! - Not much good for the young ones!! - Not many animals outside or much to do outside either a few ride on tractor toys and some bikes!! - Not very impressed at all with Walby Farm Park. Would much rather pay the extra to travel to Dumfries as their two parks are far better!!
This review was obviously written when the farm was first setting up!!! Over the past 2 years I have been visiting animals and things to do have been added on a regular basis and there are always extra events/ activities organised during holidays and weekends. Well worth a day out!!!!

I Took My Two Grandchildren, They Had A Lovely Day
I took my two grandchildren, they had a lovely day, and enjoyed everything! Especially the animals and outdoor adventure playground.
after paying £16 to get in and £10 for drinks and ice cream, we were apparently told that we could not eat our own sandwiches. After travelling an hour to get there it made it a very expensive day, having to buy meals too!
Well organised and supervised play areas But when one goes for a day out to a farm they expect to be able to have a picnic!
